Title: That voice!
Review: That voice! As great a treasure that a pair of lungs has ever produced. As tough as gravel and as smooth as velvet all at once. Every time I think of The Wonder Years or the Woodstock movie I think of the incredible Joe Cocker and his complete redefining of "With A Little Help From My Friends". Is it easy to take a Beatles song and make it your own? For Joe Cocker it seemed that way.

Title: Joe Cockers' covers, mostly
Review: I bought this album because I recently saw a re-re-re-............broadcast of the 'Woodstock' film again, and I just happened to turn it on during the scenes of Joe Cockerss' performance. So I looked on Amazon, of course, to see what they had available in greatest hits albums of his music. My cardinal rule whenever purchasing music of performers I don't own already is to first buy a greatest hits album and see if I like what's there. It is a rule that has served me very well through the years, and I recommend it to others. It's a great first step, and, afterwards, if you decide you like what you hear you can start building your collection of that artists music from there. But if you don't like a greatest hits album, chances are you will just be throwing good money after bad to buy more music by that band or artist. Make sense?Okay, so I listened to samples of a couple of greatest hits albums by Joe Cocker, read some of the reviews, and was surprised that the '20th Century Masters' collection got pretty good reviews; )because I've noticed that those collections don't usually get as good reviews as other collections do. Just sayin'!) And I liked what I heard, so I purchased the album, and was very satisfied with it, despite the fact a good portion of Cockers' best-known songs are covers, (Dave Mason, The Beatles). I don't mind covers as a general rule, mostly because it's very difficult to find an artist or band that doesn't do a cover now and again; nothing wrong with that. But when I buy a greatest hits album I really want to hear the best and greatest by that particular artist, not an album that is mostly composed of covers of other peoples music. That being said, I really did enjoy this album because Cocker is a pretty sensational vocalist and performer, and brings a very unique style to the songs that he does, and that makes even a cover sound unique and original to his repatoire, (sp?). In fact, I only gave this album a 4 rating because I truly have a hard time giving a greatest hits album any higher of a rating. But I really think a devoted Cocker fan would agree with my rating, but a casual fan might even give this album a 5. See what you think!

Title: This is a true hits compilation and fit for any Joe Cocker fan.
Review: This is a true hits only compilation and fit for any Joe Cocker fan. His voice in unique blend of soul, jazz, and rock. There are two songs I do not remember but the other 10 are solid hits.Like coffee, don't knock it until you have tried it.

Title: Cry Me A River.....
Review: The late Great Joe Cocker. He is missed but lives on in the songs on this album.Mad Dogs and Englishmen, his incredible raw performance at Woodstock, and his side by side duel with the late John Belushi on " Saturday Night" performing " With a Little Help From my Friends". Yes , a raw talent, with lots of heart and soul....he gave it everything he got .....

Title: Brings me back to the 60's and 70's!
Review: Great music from a great time, this brings back to the good times! This CD is all that is Joe Cocker, great job of remastering, clean sound and one hit after another. If you only have one Joe Cocker CD in your collection this should be it! I'm glad to have it in my collection! I would recommend this to anyone that's looking for music from this era.
