Title: That Is The Way-I Love It!
Review: KC and the Sunshine Bandâs iconic self titled second album was released in 1975 on TK Records label and helped pave the way for the Disco craze that was taking off in America. How do you review an album that is perfection from start to finish? Fueled by the one two punch of #1 across the board hits âThatâs The Way (I Like It)â and âGet Down Tonightâ, the album truly is a ray of sunshine and a perfect example of mid 70âs combination of R&B, Funk and Dance Music. It would be very unfair to label KC and the Sunshine Band as just Disco since all the tracks on this album are hard hitting funky R&B grooves, including the legendary two aforementioned smashes. In addition to âThatâs The Way (I Like It)â and âGet Down Tonightâ, âBoogie Shoesâ was also a hit and found it self on the âSaturday Night Feverâ soundtrack several years after itâs initial release on this album. Also, all these hits found a home in the clubs and Discos across the world and received heavy airplay on both Pop and R&B radio stations. In addition to the hits, âLet it Go (Parts 1 and 2)â, âIâm So Crazy âBout Youâ âWhat Makes You Happyâ and âI Get Liftedâ would be just as welcome on the Dance floor. âI Get Liftedâ was written by Harry Wayne Casey for George McRae and was included on the Soul Croonerâs âRock Your Babyâ album, that title song also being written by HWC. Displaying his versatility and depth as a singer and songwriter, Harry Wayne Casey also wrote the beautiful âAinât Nuthinâ Wrongâ for this album and itâs a gorgeous mid-tempo R&B groove and will put a smile on your face and will make you long for a ride in a convertible with the top down. KC and the Sunshine Band and itâs sound is a perfect example of everything that was right in the music industry in the 1970âs with itâs perfect mix of sunny grooves and hard hitting dance hits.Huge big thanks go to Big Break Records for giving this gem the deluxe re-mastering treatment that it so richly deserves. This album must be owned in its original entirety, not on some compilation. As is always the case with a BBR re-master, the sound is great, the liner notes are fascinating and informative and the inclusion of âGet Down Tonightâ in itâs very rare 12â Tom Moulton mix makes this a must have. âThatâs The Way (I Like It)â and âGet Down Tonightâ are also available here in their Single Version Mixes in addition to the original full length album versions. The albumâs original album cover art front and back is preserved as well. Get This Album! You wonât be disappointed.

Title: MFSL Continues Thier Long-Standing Commitment To Quality
Review: There's a MAJOR difference in listening to the MFSL audiophile vinyl reissue of a recording than it's mass produced counterpart which incorporates a second or third generation copy taken from the mother stamper. Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab has continued with their tradition of excellence in reissuing this album with the care and craftsmanship that is incorporated into each of their audiophile pressings. I've long enjoyed the works of K C and The Sunshine Band. To be able to experience their music in a new sonic light brought a smile to my face as the memories came flooding back. This is a fun recording to listen to. If the listener is seeking something more intellectually stimulating -- listen to The Moody Blues. That's not what this album is for. It generated three hit singles for them. The listner will enjoy the higher highes and the lower lows and be able to listen to this recording in a way that they haven't been able to do so before. This isn't so much an "album" review as it is a commentary on the quality of work that Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab has long been famous for. Whether the listener enjoys the classic works from the European Masters or prefers something more pensive along the lines of The Moody Blues, rest assured that the dedication to quality is there regardless of the genre. And if you are a collector, such as I am, you will know that these recordings are a "sound" investment. Forgive the pun; I couldn't resist.

Title: Great album from an earlier time when things seemed simpler.
Review: Love this album. Also like the fact that it is a Mobile Fidelity release. These releases cost more, but they are worth it. I have about 90 Mobile Fidelity releases and about seven on preorder. This album is part of the silver series as most of the newer stuff is. These albums are great in the way they are packaged. For those not familiar with Mobile Fidelity releases, the albums are packaged in great poly inner sleeves, then they are placed into a folder like inner that slips into the main sleeve. The ultimate in protection. Helps keep them dust free and most important, static free. It also make the outer sleeve stiff and sturdy.Usually if I already have something on vinyl, I will buy it again if it comes out on Mobile Fidelity as the remastering and sound is great. I will also buy something that is releases on colored vinyl as well. It's Peary music lover and part collector when it comes to me and vinyl.

Title: This album is a party on vinyl.
Review: My wife, myself, and some friends went to see KC and the Sunshine Band last October 2022 (we live in Chicago) and I just HAD to get it. The album has all the songs you remember (if you're gen-x). Delivered on time and loved.

Title: As perfect as vinyl can be!
Review: Very quiet between songs. Vinyl was pristine! Audiophile quality pressing. The thickness of this record will resist warping. I love the high quality vinyl enclosure the record comes in! I always replace the paper sleeve with a vinyl one of my own. No need to do this since the one provided is even better quality. If I have one very minor observation it would be that the highs seem just a bit subdued and more emphasis is on the base. But everything is clear and sounds wonderful. This is disco music after all.
