Title: Just Like You
Review: Keyshia's sophomore set has a theme of uncertainty in a relationship or lost love. This similarity of theme did not stop her from producing distinctly individual songs - no two songs sound alike. This is a great sophomore album on which I can tell that Keyshia, her co-writers & the producers went "all in" to produce a cohesive collection.Her vocal performance is definitely smoother so the gritty soulful vocals that I fell in love with on her debut are nowhere to be found on this set which reminds me of Fantasia, another powerful vocalist whose sophomore set features more restrained vocals.Overall I'm not disappointed in the cd but fans of her debut disc should be aware that this cd features a seemingly softer version of Keyshia Cole and after a few listens I definitely appreciate the direction that she took with her 2nd offering. And although there are several tracks that I loved immediately they really haven't "hit me in the heart" the way that I JUST WANT IT TO BE OVER did the first time I heard it.My thoughts on the tracks:LET IT GO - really smart sample use, excellent lead single choice and I love the fact that Missy & Lil Kim don't overshadow Keyshia's vocals 4.5/5 starsDIDN'T I TELL YOU - I really dislike this track, Too Short adds nothing to the mix, the lyrics & vocals are "meh" to me 0/5 starsFALLIN' OUT - I really like this track, it's got a melodic mid-tempo beat and Keyshia's vocals are so smoothed out that it really displays her improvement as a vocalist 4/5 starsGIVE ME MORE - I loved the musical arrangement of this single 4/5 starsI REMEMBER - the melody of the musical arrangement sounds so familiar but is very pretty and her restrained singing perfectly meshes 4.5/5 starsSHOULDA LET YOU GO - although this song reminds me too much of a MJB track, I really like the pairing of Keyshia's vocal performance with the rapper, Amina, who sounds a little like a smoothed out Lil Kim 4.5/5 starsHEAVEN SENT - this is another really good track featuring really pretty musical & vocal arrangements that showcase Keyshia's vocals 5/5 starsSAME THING - I like how the previous track flows into this interlude which then flows perfectly into the next track 4.5/5 starsGOT TO GET MY HEART BACK - this track is very "ok" & filler-ish to me 3/5 starsWAS IT WORTH IT? - also just an "ok" track to me although I do enjoy the musical arrangement 2/5 starsJUST LIKE YOU - the album gets back on track with this heartfelt ballad, the lyrics, vocal & musical arrangements are beautiful 4.5/5 starsLOSING YOU - I love the pairing of Keyshia & Anthony Hamilton's voices although I wish it were more of a true duet instead of each just singing their individual verses 3.5/5 starsLAST NIGHT - I fell in love with this track solely for Keyshia's assist to Diddy, whose rap/singing gets annoying & the head nodding musical arrangement 4.5/5 starsWORK IT OUT - another good single with excellent production 3.5/5 starsLET IT GO (REMIX) - same track only the male rappers were included, nothing was done to shake up the track by using a different musical arrangement so I'd rank it slightly less enjoyable to listen to than the originalI'd recommend that fans get the disc as Keyshia is showing great improvement in her vocal performance on the entire disc which for me as a music fan is a positive step because it shows that she is trying to get better as an artist & singer while maintaining control of both her musical content & image.

Title: Exceptional CD - Exceptional Vocals
Review: I was introduced to Keyshia Cole thru her latest release A DIFFERENT ME. I had no idea who she was but read a review of it, listened to some sample tracks and gave it a shot. I loved it, so much that I looked at her other work and saw all the raves for this JUST LIKE YOU, her second release. I purchased this and am so glad I did. I knew she was popular and also know that often second releases by artists are subpar. A DIFFERENT ME introduced me to a particular side of Keyshia and JUST LIKE YOU revealed yet another. In no way does this seem like a sophmore effort. This girl can SING !!! There is much comparison to her and Mary J. Blige. The only similarities I see are that both are immensely talented and possess strong, emotive vocals. Mary J sings with a rough edge to her voice while Keyshia's is just as powerful but with a gritty edge that has a more "pretty" quality. Her voice can mezmerize with its range.It is amazing that Keyshia Cole is so young, in her 20s, but for me why her music works is because all her songs clearly come from the soul and for such a youngin she has experienced a great deal. This comes across strongly and her music seems much older than her years. With so much music today dubbing and overdubbing the singers voice it is refreshing to hear music here with Keyshia's voice strongly in the forefront untouched, sincere and strong.For me there is not a miss on this set but there are certainly some standouts. With the uptempo numbers as well as the slower songs and ballads a smooth r@b groove permeates throughout the whole cd with her vocals leading it all. I REMEMBER is a defining moment for me with FALLIN OUT coming in a close second. LET IT GO, DIDN'T I TELL YOU, GOT TO GET MY HEART BACK and WORK IT OUT are all excellent.Bottom line, Keyshia Cole is not an overproduced product but a true artist. She is an amazing talent and it is reflected with each release. Her music shows her growth with her craft as well as with her own self. She sings from the heart and soul and possesses amazing vocal gifts. Her voice is raw, powerful and emotional with an exemplary range. If she wants it, a huge and long future is in the wait for her. What a huge talent.Highly recommend this cd.

Title: Stepping up her game
Review: on Keyshia's 2nd cd. It is evident that she's improved in vocal delivery, song arrangement and writing on this one. A more subdued but still very effective vocal delivery by her this time lets people know that she doesnt have to scream like crazy to deliver the song the way she wants to.I'm liking this cd more with each listen to it. Despite a couple tracks that just did nothing for me like "Didn't I Tell You" it doesnt feel like Too Short brought anything to this song...it was okay on her part. But not really anything i would listen to more than a time or two everything though on the cd is more than good its all gravy.With tracks like:Let It Go (with Missy & Lil Kim and the remix version w/TI, Missy & Young Dro)Fallin' OutGive Me MoreI RememberShoulda Let You Go w/AminaHeaven SentGot To Get My Heart BackWork It Out"Just Like You" is crammed with songs that are both radio ready and at the same time. They don't have to be because they stand on their own and would be fine if it didnt happen. But we know that this cd is going to blow up..."Let It Go" is already number 2 on the singles chart and the album "Just Like You" is number 2 on the Billboad Top 200 album chart as well. So we know where this is going and that Keyshia is an artist that is making much headway and will be around for awhile doing things her way.But also still being "Just Like You".
