Title: Very Enlightening, Even Life Changing..
Review: Over the past several months, I've been channel surfing and have come across Joel Olsteen's TV program. At 1st, I would flip the channel after a few seconds, but the more I listened, the longer I would watch, until I started watching his entire show/sermon. I decided to purchase his audio cd set and I am so glad that I did! I definitely consider myself a Christian and a good person, but have also become pretty hard-nosed and cynical, not to mention a realist and I let stress get the better of me more than I care to admit. With a recent diagnosis of Fibromyalgia and other painful afflictions I am suffering from, it has become a chore just to get out of bed & face the day most days. Unfortuantely, my husband and son have been on the receiving end of my anger & frustrations. For example, my morning commute to work, that used to take 25 minutes, now takes almost an hour, due to heavy construction all over town, which is projected to take almost a year to complete. I have been so stressed and wiped out by the time I do get to work, I feel like just turning around and going home some days. I knew I needed something to change my thinking and improve my mood - mainly for my poor family's sake! All last week (& this week), I have listened to Joel's teachings while sitting in traffic. I bet I was about the only driver, out of hundreds of us, with a smile on their face, sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic. Ha! Joel's voice is very soothing to me and the topics he discusses seem tailor-made just for me and my circumstances. In only this short amount of time, I have learned (& been reminded) of so many things that are helping me feel better about, and not feel sorry, for myself. A feeling of peace has come over me that I don't recall every having. Whenever my 8 year old son is in the car, I play the cd's and later during the day, he will bring up something positive that he heard Rev. Olsteen say. What a wonderful thing to experience with my child! My husband & I had some errands to run this evening & I popped 1 of the cd's in & knowing he is not a big fan of the TV show, I was delighted to see him really paying attention & agreeing with what he was hearing and it led to a wonderful conversation between he & I afterwards. This set is definitely great for the whole family! I still have a way to go in my personal transformation, but feel like I'm on the right track & plan to stay on it! Life truly is too short to waste it moaning and groaning, when I (like most everyone) have so much to be thankful for and have so much to contribute to this world & the people in it! I am sick & tired of being sick & tired, as they say, and with these teachings, I am turning my life & mindset around! I have always been a firm believer that your thoughts make you the person that you are, which has been evident in my recent self-defeating, downward spiral. This set is filled with alot of great information that I think many of us have forgotten along the way. I plan on letting a close friend borrow them when I'm finished, who needs a little "pick me up", as well. I only have 1 more cd to go, so I bought another set of his teachings to keep moving forward. His personal stories and light-hearted humor go a long way, too! I just can't say enough good things about my experience with these cd's, but it looks like I already have. Thanks for reading & I would definitely recommend getting these cd's for yourself!

Title: BEST book for your BEST life!!
Review: Inspiring? Uplifting? Amazing? Can't put it down? Oh YES!!Joel Osteen goes over the top on what we need to put to use for daily gratitude!! His wisdom flows in such a natural way, it is truly the work of the Lord which guides his pen.After reading this beautiful book, I purchased several copies to give to friends, relatives and co-workers. Truly my favorite story appears at the last sentence of page 11 and all of page 12. I believe that this "sets the tone" for what Joel is wanting to share with us....it is time to "enlarge our vision".This book should be MANDATORY reading for anyone who wants MORE FROM LIFE....After all, God wants us to be "winners, not whiners". This book offers the WAY to winning...don't order just one book....order several to pass on to friends and relatives! My book is highlighted in yellow, marked and circled, it looks like I just might need to order yet one more book!I feel deeply blessed to have listened to my friend Penny who told me to "just order it NOW".....I did, now I am proud to endorse this book with 100% of my heart! God Bless you Joel Osteen for taking the time to put these precious words into print!

Title: Inspiring and uplifting!
Review: I am new to Joel Osteen. I had seen his photo and heard of him, but this is my first exposure to any of his material. I listened to the audio version of this book, which I got from the library, and found it very motivating and practical. I bought my own copy so I can listen to it periodically whenever I need a boost.I must admit that I have trouble understanding people (such as a few of the negative reviewers) who have a problem seeing God as a benevolent Father who wants to bless us with good things! Jesus often referred to God's loving generosity, and He told us to "Ask and you shall receive." He also told us that as a person thinks, so shall they be.Even in the Old Testament God promises: "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11 NIV.Of course I agree that our focus should not be ONLY on material success, wealth or possessions, but there is nothing wrong with having these as long as one keeps a balance and keeps God and spirituality as a priority. Furthermore, these principles, which have been espoused by many people, including Dr. Norman Vincent Peale ("The Power of Positive Thinking") really DO work! I can personally attest to that. Most of my goals and dreams have come to pass, with God's help, and with the ones that didn't, God gave me something better. God also often answers our prayers in a way we don't expect...which is always better than our own limited human thinking, which is why you need to keep an open mind and heart when praying for something.I think a lot of times people resent being told that God wants them to have fruitful, abundant lives b/c perhaps they are too lazy to put forth the effort involved. God will help us, but we have to help ourselves. So it's easier to just say that "God wants me to be poor/sick/unsuccessful, etc." These same people might be jealous that someone like Joel Osteen is living a meaningful, useful and successful life. Get over it! I find that people like Joel Osteen and other motivational/ inspirational speakers are just what I need sometimes to get me moving towards my goals...always on the condition that it is God's will for my life and good for me. If not, I have faith that God will give me something even better!

Review: Autant je n'ai rien contre les doctrines de la grâce (notamment les enseignements de Joseph Prince), autant je trouve que Joel Osteen va beaucoup trop loin dans sa vision (déformée ?) du christianisme.Osteen semble répéter page après page que ce qu'il vit est la norme pour les Chrétiens. Ca en devient risible quand il entend Dieu lui dire qu'il doit aller faire ses courses en costume et non en short, et qu'il doit laver sa voiture ... ??!!Gros warnings également sur le passage concernant les finances : ce n'est pas parce que les israélites payaient plusieurs dîmes équivalent à environ 25% de leur revenu, pour financer le service du temple, l'éducation de leurs enfants au temple et la justice (en gros : ils payaient leur impôt sur le revenu dans un état théocratique pour rémunérer les fonctionnaires) que les chrétiens doivent donner 10% de leurs revenus à leur pasteur : ce n'est pas Dieu que les chrétiens volent, ce sont les pasteurs comme Osteen qui volent les chrétiens.Souvenez vous de Proverbe 22.16 : "Celui qui donne à un riche ne fait que s'appauvrir lui-même."Pas du tout convaincu ...

Review: This book I got as a gift from my Uncle. I read it when I just joined my Bachelors of Arts. And honestly this has blessed me so much. I not only improved in my studies but also excelled in all activities of the college. God made me a Champion in Christ. I have a skin problem which is called vitiligo but still I smile and I shine , Today I am a lecturer, I am also a minister of Grace. I thank God for Ps Joel Osteen, If it was not for his timely encouragement through this book i would not be where I am today. Totally favored and loved
