She lost her first love.

I'd give it all to be her second ...

For as long as I can remember, I’ve had one dream.

Go to college with my best friends, earn a starting position on a division one team, and hear my name announced to the world come draft day.

The path was clear, and things were falling in place perfectly.

Until she showed up.

I never meant to fall for my friend’s little sister and by the time I realized I had, it was too late.

I am a man in love with a girl … who is in love with someone else.

But I can’t compete with a ghost, and her heart was buried along side the boy she gave it to. The father of her unborn son.

Instead of fighting for something she’s unable to give, I do my best to be her friend. But then her little man comes along and changes everything.

She says I should walk away, focus on my love for football, but I can’t because what she doesn’t understand is I have a new dream now.

One that begins and ends with them.

Promise Me Not is the second interconnected stand-alone in the universe of Say You Swear.

Title: Get ready to binge-read this one!
Review: An absolute must-read! From the very first page, I was completely captivated! I couldn’t put it down—seriously, I stayed up way too late just to see what would happen next! 😍💔Meagan pulls no punches when weaving together romance and drama, creating a story that hits all the right emotional notes. I loved how each character is so well-developed and relatable—you’ll find pieces of yourself in their struggles and triumphs. The way Meagan captures the ups and downs of relationships is so authentic. You’ll laugh, cry, and definitely swoon! The tension and banter between the characters had me grinning like a fool, and their journey together is both heartwarming and heart-wrenching.It’s the perfect blend of angst, romance, and unforgettable moments.Get ready to binge-read this one!

Title: A good story overall, but nothing will ever top the first book! minimal spice, but very emotional!
Review: *ARC REVIEW* SPOILERS*****A good story overall, but nothing will ever top the first book. This book was very opposite from the first book, but not in a bad way! There was very little spice (literally none until the last chapters), which made sense with the story line, but I was hoping for way more after the first book. I found myself just like “okay come on get it together already” sooooo many times. I totally get both of their reasonings for their actions, but it was VERRRRRRRRY slow burn (I’m not usually a slow burn girly) and the end felt a bit rushed. I was really hoping to see more of them after that ending (maybe an epilogue or two will be coming?).I love going back and forth every few chapters to see both of their POV’s before and after Deaton’s death. You really have to pay attention to what’s going on to keep up. I loved seeing snippets of Noah and Ari along the way too. It warmed my heart 🥹I will say this book changed my opinion of Chase completely. I was fuming any time I saw Chase’s name in book 1, but the way he was there for Payton? Completely changed my POV and I can’t wait to see his book!I was kinda confused on where the title came from, as say you swear was a common saying for Noah and Ari throughout book one, so I assumed it would be similar, but I don’t recall it being said once? Also what the heck happened with Cameron and Trey??? I know he got drafted, but there was no mention of anything.I cannot WAIT for book 3!

Title: Welp, that was.. not too bad.🙂
Review: Let’s start with, I did like the book. Did I love the book ? No. Is it a perfect story ? Also no. But I did like it to a certain extent. The book deals w/ grief, fear, dreams, and growth. Those are the 4 main pillars of Mason and Payton’s story. But I feel as if this story had the potential to be so much better. The flashbacks was a huge part in telling their story and although there’s nothing wrong with some flashbacks storytelling, it wasn’t done properly. This creating a kinda confusing timeline for the reader. Instead of constantly jumping back and forth the Arthur should’ve split the book into 2 parts. Part 1 being the past and us watching them come together and fall in love. Part 2 should’ve been the present time and us watching them grow individually and trying to find their way back to each other. This would have made for a much better book and version of story telling than what we got.The two main characters in this 2nd book of the Avix U series were vastly different and I often found myself enjoying the MMC much more than the FMC. Mason was a beautiful man with a beautiful soul and so much love to give to both the FMC and the baby. Mason is what really sold this book for me because him as a character was beautiful to watch and see grow. Now, the FMC on the other hand…🤦🏾‍♀️.. absolutely annoyed me. I found myself trying to remember that she was grieving and trying to grow herself. But she just, irritated me. She should also tryout for Olympic Track team with the amount of time she ran. I swear. I don’t even want to go into too much detail regarding her as a character but just know I was not impressed nor did I like her all that much by the end of the book. I was over being in her headspace.Last but not least, the ending was obviously rushed. The ending was more like the arthur forgot that the story was ending and said “Oh no, I have to give them a HEA ! Let me think of something quick and wrap up all this UNNECESSARY drama up quickly with a pretty bow.” 😒..girl..I say all that to say, I liked the book, I didn’t love the book. I much prefer SYS and I’m honestly just waiting for Brady’s book.🤷🏽‍♀️Ok, byyeeeee😊

Title: Devastating. The boys of Avix strike again!!
Review: 🔥 #PromiseMeNot had me hooked from start to finish! 💔 Mason’s patience and undying love for Payton? SWOON. He’s the hero we all need—loyal, strong, and ready to wait forever if it means winning her heart. 🏈 The slow burn is real, and the angst? MB never disappoints on that front! ⚡️Prepare to have your emotions ripped apart and pieced back together in the most beautiful way. This book gave me ALL the feels, and don’t even get me started on the flashbacks—those moments made my heart ache in the best way. The angst was on another level! 😭 I was not ready for the slow burn, the flashbacks to Deaton, and the way Mason slowly breaks down Payton’s walls. Watching her navigate those dreams of Deaton while trying to rebuild her life with Mason had me ugly crying more times than I can count. And Mason? His love is so unconditional, so patient—seriously, he’s everything. He really gave Noah a run for his money in this book! Can’t wait for more in this series! Is it too soon to ask for book three? 👀#SportsRomance #MBStan #BoysOfAvix #EmotionalRollercoaster #SlowBurnRomance #BookLover #UglyCry #BookReview #RomanceReaders #AngstQueen #PromiseMeNot #BoysOfAvix #GriefAndLove #SportsRomance #SlowBurn #DreamsOfDeaton #UglyCry #AngstQueen #BookLovers #BookReview #RomanceReaders

Review: 🏈 found family🏈 football🏈 young single mom🏈 grief & loss🏈 he loves her and her son5 Star read, hands down!I thought Noah Riley was the ultimate MMC of swoon and all things golden retriever, but here comes Mason, strutting in and he does not disappoint. If you've read Say You Swear, we were given a glimpse of his all-American "good boy-ness", his selfless devotion to his family, his loyalty to his friends and his deep care for Payton and her baby. Promise Me Not invites us to go on their intense journey of grief, loss, and love.Meagan Brandy is an insta-add to cart author for me. She gives her characters life! you can realy imagine yourself being there, feeling their feelings. I can't tell you how many times i've cried while reading this book. She so beautifully rips your heart out and puts it back together again. And just like Payton, it may have been broken, but once it's put back together, it's left, perhaps, in better shape than before...?Some of my favourite quotes from the book:"Mason didn't come hoe for me. He came home for us.""Just so you know," he begins. "It's okay not to be okay... even if it's not for the reason everyone thinks.""I can't compete with a ghost, so I won't," I promise, "He can keep your heart for all eternity. Just let me hold you for all of mine."There are so many more, but I don't want to give anything away.Chase, as you will recall from the previous book, was 'persona non grata' for a while, but Promise Me Not is his redemption song. You'll see! You'll want only goodness and light to shine for him.Cameron's book is up next, and I can't wait 🙂

Review: The Story follows Mason and Peyton and their rollercoaster journey to a happy end. This isn’t simply just a college love story about someone who has to go through some struggles to find a happy end. Here we have real, relatable emotions and obstacles. We get to see that like one may have experienced loss and grief, there is no right or wrong way to do that. There is a lot more to that. A kaleidoscope of emotions to work through and live with.Mason is someone who loves deeply and would clearly wait forever for the only girl for him. He has insecurities as well but that is overweight by his true way of loving those who matter. He is my favored character in this story. While I can relate to Peyton and what she has to go through. There are times you feel like she does because of moving on and getting life back. There are so many emotions in this story. Angst, love etc.The flashbacks were very important for the book and the switch between the past and the present fitted that story and made us understand how and why we get where we start. An amazing book that stays with you for a while after you finish it, that is for sure. But the happy end was worth every emotion you felt with the characters.

Review: I swooned so hard for Mason 😮‍💨 Tho the story was up and down, it was an emotional roller coaster for me. I literally bawled more than I was happy lol It’s a story about loving someone so much that is no longer here and learning that’s it ok to fall in love again without any guilt. Payton is a beautiful mum who loves her little boy more than anything. This couple took their time to be together until both of them were ready. I absolutely loved Mason! And Mason as a Dad?! Holy hotness 🔥🔥 Can’t not wait for the next book in the series 💗🫶🏻

Review: I would rate this book a 3.75/5What I loved about it:Mason! Might be one of the most well written Mmc in contemporary romance. He was faithful, dependable, reliable, trustworthy, genuine and loving male characters. He started to fall in love with Payton before he even knew it. Back when her childhood love was still alive. His love was pure and genuine. He just wanted to take care of Payton and her little boy.Loved getting to see more of Noah and Ari. Even if it was from the viewpoint of others. What I didn't like about it:I wasn't a huge fan of the constant back and forth with the timeline. I was already so invested in the present that I found myself speed reading through the past chapters. Trying to get to the heart of the issue that Payton seemed to have with Mason.Payton. I get that she felt so guilty about falling in love with Mason so soon after her boyfriends death. Then, coming to the realization that was she felt before wasn't anywhere near what she feels for Mason. The girl was grieving. I get that. She constantly put Mason through the ringer. The man would crawl on his knees for her. I felt that she pushed too far sometimes. Also, did she physically have to run from every conversation. It was getting a bit repetitive. She's not a very likable FMC. Not when you think of Ari and Noah and their love story.Overall, I was happy I read it. I did binge it because I couldn't take going to sleep not knowing how it ended. But I won't be re reading this book like I do the first book in the series. I read and re read that book over and over.
