A scarred young man finds security in the arms of a sexy cowboy with a big heart.
Kaden James has relied on dangerous coping mechanisms to quiet the horrific memories that led to his fear of large men. After struggling to hold down a job, he knows he can’t refuse the offer to be a cook at a Montana ranch, even if it is temporary.
He never imagined just how much that decision would change his life.
Logan Michaels can sense the fear in his new cook as soon as they meet. Although he’s always considered himself straight, there’s something about the younger man that captivates him. He tries to fight the attraction, but even the memories that have kept him from finding love aren’t enough to stop him from trying to earn Kaden’s confidence.
Will Logan find a way to break through the mistrust and fear Kaden carries as a shield?

Title: A rich and rewarding tale
Review: I'd rate this about 4.5 stars, rounded up for Amazon's rating system. It's a very rich and rewarding tale with deeply-detailed and three-dimensional characters.Kaden is 19 and suffered a ton of past abuse. The result is that he's scarred physically, mentally, and emotionally. He's on the short side, and large men generate panic attacks and flashbacks in him. Because of this, he can't keep a job for very long. When he loses his most recent one, the agent at the employment agency recommends he take a job for three months as a cook at his cousin Logan's ranch in Montana. With little choice, Kaden accepts and soon meets Logan.Logan is large, but quite sweet and considerate. It surprises and confuses him that he seems to find an attraction to Kaden, especially since he's never in his life felt an attraction to another man before. It also frustrates him and tugs at his heart that Kaden is so afraid of him. He quickly surmises that some abuse occurred to Kaden in his past, leaving Kaden afraid of people, and terrified of large men. All he wants to do now is to ease Kaden's mind and help him heal. The characters are nicely developed in this story. Kaden, Logan, and Shea (Logan's sister) are complex characters with distinct personalities. It's rewarding to watch these three very different characters interact. Logan and Shea are caring and gentle and try to help Kaden, but aren't sure the best way to do it. They don't know what happened in Kaden's past and realize that it will be some time before Kaden can verbalize the past abuse he's suffered. All they have to work on is what they can observe as Kaden simply isn't opening up to them. Still, they try, and it's these interactions that work their way into the readers' hearts.Focus is on romance, not erotica, which makes the resulting story target your heart rather than your loins. The pacing is good, keeping the story interesting and flowing. Dialog is good, and situations and plot devices are also well-developed. There is also some suspense and danger to the story at various points, which allows even deeper glimpses into Kaden's thoughts and the internal terrors he endures. These scenes strengthen your empathy with Kaden and advance the story very nicely. All in all, it's a nicely-written, compelling, sweet, and rewarding tale.

Title: Kaden & Logan
Review: The abuse Kaden endured in his short life was heartbreaking. He finds himself on a ranch surrounded by large men who frighten him but heâs also intrigued by one gentle cowboy. Logan needs to earn his trust. Good story about healing and finding a place to belong.

Title: Emotional and well written!
Review: I loved everything about this book, the storyline, the main characters, the relationship between Logan and Kaden. The trauma Kaden had to endure in his past and thru out the book was very difficult to imagine. This book is a MUST read.

Title: not too bad
Review: This is a sad story with a happy ending. I did feel there were a few inconsistencies in the story and some things thrown in that weren't necessary and some things glossed over in the end that seemed important in the beginning. My biggest complaint is that Logan constantly refers to Kaden as either the teen or little one. I just find that a grown man referring to another man, no matter how young or smaller they are, as little one. It's just to girly for men. Also Logan's unquestionable acceptance of his attraction to Kaden seemed at bit stretched.Whith all the things I didn't like tough I still enjoyed the book and and did feel the sorrow of Kadens past and the Love Logen had for him.

Title: Good Characters, Hole-filled Plot
Review: Three well developed characters (Kaden, Logan and Shea) are the best reasons for reading this book. I was originally going to say that I'd give it 4 1/2, or even 5 stars, but some of the criticisms of the other reviews are true and justified. I was bothered by the fact that Logan was depicted as a huge, Alpha male who was basically straight and who had never been attracted to another male until he met Kaden. That just doesn't happen; there would have had to have been SOME previous event or feeling or tingle or SOMETHING in Logan for another male, considering the latter's age and history and self-image. The comment that Kaden was just a woman with a penis is overstated. We have all met short, slender, timid, slightly "feminine" looking men. Not all are gay. I was initially bothered that Kaden wasn't getting the psychiatric help he so clearly needed, but then it developed that he'd had years of it after he killed his abusive, rapist step-father and had internalized many useful lessons from that help, so I was somewhat mollified. Shea was entirely credible and lovable as a ranch-loving tomboy. Several other important minor characters were somewhat two-dimensionally developed: the step-father and Franklin, one of the ranch hands. The horse Manticore was depicted well and his relationship with Kaden developed well. Finally, Helen, the woman Logan was dating, was sketched briefly, but that brief sketch enough to make one like her very much. The fact that Logan could have had her for a partner and chose Kaden instead led me to think Logan was never as straight as he thought he was, but this aspect of his personality should have been the focus of much more attention than was done here. So, three and a half stars. There were some holes/weaknesses in the plot line: no past male attraction for Logan, not enough attention to psychiatric help for Kaden. But the pleasure of the three main characters and watching them mesh to become family will warm lots of hearts, just as it did mine. Enjoy the book in spite of the flaws in the plot line.

Review: This a very powerful and emotional story one that must be immersed in if you're to feel it's full impact, (something I do when I read) to get the most out of it. It took me to the stars and the deepest, darkest oceans in the blink of an eye with the intensity and Love from beginning to the end.I cannot wait for the 10yr sequel to it.This is MOST DEFINITELY a story not to be missed. Just so you know we could all use a Logan of our own especially me
