Title: Great book for students
Review: Love to use this when introducing new positions to violinists. It takes you through scale wise, then skips, then gives you exercises with added bowings/rhythms. Good build up!

Title: Don't skip this step!
Review: As I was working on s piece with some 3rd position, my teacher asked if I had ever been taught 3rd position. I had not, so he suggested we get going with this book. What a game changer! It took the toil and trouble out of learning it with structured, progressive lessons. Worth every minute and every penny!

Title: Very useful 👍🏽
Review: I think this book will help improve violin skills. It have finger charts, notes/ advice for different pages and explaining the correction of shifting, scales of different keys, and after all these exercises, have little tunes and pieces to practice in different positions. I love this and would recommend 😁

Review: At first, I was planning to put this away until I muster the energy to endure the necessary but "tedious" exercises. After skimming through it, though, I plan to incorporate it into daily practice as much as I can. It was presented clearly, and relatively simple to follow.

Review: L'étude de la 2° et 3° positions a été révolutionnée par MacKay avec ses exercices "mélodiques" et accompagnements pianoIl me manquait une méthode spécifique pour la 5° Position: la méthode Van den velden comble partiellement ce vide, mais ne propose pas d'exercices mélodiques.Pour un prix modique de 7 euros, la méthode de Havey S whistler propose, en plus, des mélodies non seulement en 3°mais en 5° position;Par contre les explications sont en anglais ce qui peut gêner certaines personnes.
