Featuring both hip-hop tracks and performance excerpts from the Spike Lee-directed concert film, this soundtrack CD should crack you up and make you move. Steve Harvey's routines are top notch. "Something Got to Be Wrong With Cuba" humorously points out America's cultural arrogance during the Elian Gonzalez affair, while "Church All the Time" features a foul-mouthed, church-going octogenarian. D.L. Hughley's very funny routines tend to have a classic black-humor theme: the differences between white people and black people. Hughley's "What Black Folks Do for Entertainment" works as both first-rate comedy and social commentary. The album also finds Cedric the Entertainer riffing on African-Americans playing sports like golf and tennis and Bernie Mac detailing his annoyance with his sister's kids. The five music tracks, which include work by various Cash Money artists, nicely break up the comedy portions of the disc. --Fred Cisterna

Title: Bernie Mack all the Way
Review: All the artists are good on this CD. But Bernie Mack is the cream of the crop. I have listened the part on his sisters kids about 10 times so far and laugh every time.

Title: Classic Comedy Bits
Review: KINGS OF COMEDY is a very good collection of funny skits and monologues. I don't know the exact date of all the recordings, but I believe they're probably from the 1930s or '40s with W.C. Fields and Eddie Cantor up to 1991 with Jackie Mason (the copyright dates of some segments are probably the year they were recorded, but in other cases not). I suppose one could debate exactly which comedians should have been included here and which important ones are missing, but surely anyone would concede that many of the major comedians of the 20th century are well represented with funny bits. There's a good deal of variety here too, ranging from a multi-cast location skit of W.C. Fields' "The Pharmacist" to the songs "Laff It Off" with Eddie Cantor and "Song of the Sewer" with Art Carney. Some segments are experiences from the comedians' lives, such as "At the Dentist" with Robert Klein, while other pieces are imaginative abstractions, such as "40 Great Unclaimed Melodies" with The Firesign Theatre and "Maudi Frickert Explains the Birds and the Bees" with Jonathan Winters. The language on this is overall very mild, with little or no profanity and little that's risque. If we can borrow movie ratings, 7 of the 10 tracks would be G-rated, while the remaining 3 are PG. The disc is relatively generous at 57 minutes, and the overall sound quality is fine, although the Jackie Mason monologue is a bit muffled, which is ironic since it appears to be the most recent recording. The title of the disc apparently refers to the fact that all the comedians on here are men, but prior to recent times that's not unusual anyway. At any rate, KINGS OF COMEDY is a very enjoyable collection.Another good compilation that's similar, yet with more recent recordings on average and MUCH more R-rated language than KINGS OF COMEDY has, is Hey That's Funny: Comedy's Greatest Hits.

Title: Funny as Hell!!!
Review: If you cannot rent, borrow, or buy the movie, then get this CD! I had the chance to see the KOC on their second tour, in November 2000. They came to Sacramento, CA with the lovely Queens Of Comedy, Adele Givens, Sommore, and Mo'Nique, who were equally as funny. However, I did miss the fact that DL Hughley opted to not hit the concert circuit again. I guess once was enough. Anyhow, listening to this CD, you can just imagine the type of antics that they were showing on stage. I highly recommend this CD, especially for fans of Bernie Mac. In case you were wondering about the use of the word "Mother^%$#@*" I need help on one problem: If you have seen the DVD/VHS, what is the name of the song that Cedric is dancing to? And where can I buy the album?!-ONE-

Title: Great comedy
Review: This is one of the best comedy CD s I have ever heard . The great thing about this CD is that , it kind of breaks the monotony of having to hear to the same person speak for 90 mins . Here we have 4 great comedians to listen to and we have more varitey. On the other hand , I think the comedy is geared towards black people , and you will get the jokes much better if you are a person of colour.
