Title: This must be the best value around
Review: This must be the best value around! So many different songs and pieces and so many different interpretations. They range from, "Oh I'm really enjoying playing this piece", to, "Oh my goodness, what have I got myself into!" Either way, it is truly good value and i reccommend it highly to pianist of intermediate level and above.

Title: A great jazz piano repertoire book
Review: A great collections of jazz piano pieces and arrangements. Some pieces are quite difficult and require practicing. A challenging book for pianist who would like to play some good arrangements. A strong classical background would be helpful.

Title: Too hard for intermediate-advanced pianists
Review: I know this book wasn't marketed/advertised for intermediate-advanced pianists, but usually if I work long and hard enough at a song, I can play it. This stylings of this book encorporates too many 10th intervals to play comfortably. I get it every once in a while, but it was too many, too often, and too many songs.

Title: It's ok, but not what I expected
Review: Too many arrangements in this collection look like notated improvisations. Some are too (unjustifiably) chromatic for my taste (especially those tunes arranged by George Shearing). The layout looks like a collection of scanned music sheets. Titles have different typefaces. Some pieces have chords and/or dynamics notated, other don't etc.

Title: Great arrangements, but wish I knew more of the songs
Review: I am 32 years old, and I thought I was fairly in tune with jazz standards, but I am familiar with surprisingly few of the songs in this book. That said, I have started playing through them, and the arrangements really are great. I will learn new material and enjoy doing it with this book, even though I was hoping for a bit more of a nostalgic experience.

Customers say

Customers find the arrangements great. Opinions are mixed on the music selection, with some finding it the best compilation of modern jazz piano arrangements they have ever purchased. However, others say there are too many songs and many have been removed.
