A missing student. A singular investigation. A new romance. Every bit of it is a mystery in a delightful novel of cosmic twists by the author of How to Win a Breakup.

East House is the oldest and least desirable dorm on campus, but it has a draw for lonely university freshman Aleeza Kassam: Jay Hoque, the hot and broody student who vanished from East House five months ago without a trace. It’s irresistible to an aspiring investigative journalist like Aleeza.

But when she starts receiving texts from Jay, the mystery takes an unexpected turn. To put it mildly. His messages are coming not only from Aleeza’s own dorm room but from the past—only weeks before he disappeared. Sharing space, if not time, Aleeza and Jay are living the impossible, and they start working together to prevent his inevitable disappearance. Causing a temporal paradox that could blow up the universe is a risk they’re going to have to take.

Aleeza digs through Jay’s suspicious friends, enemies, and exes, determined to find out what happened to him. Or what will happen to him. But it’s becoming more than a mystery. Aleeza is catching feelings for her charming new roommate. Wherever, and whenever, he may be.

Title: WOW This Was Great
Review: What a creative storyline - it kept me hooked. Twists and turns throughout. I could "feel" the characters, which always makes for good reading. I read a lot and I have to say I have never come across an interesting plot like this. I absolutely love how this author writes so smoothly. It was very easy to follow along and the mystery kept me wondering what was going to happen next. The only thing not absolutely perfect is the fact that I am still wondering "how" all that happened. Maybe another book in the future from this author will help answer that question (hint hint - write another one lol). I am really, really glad I chose this as my First Reads book this month. FINALLY a good one!

Title: A fun exciting page turner
Review: I loved this story, one of the best I've read in a minute. The pacing is so good you want to keep reading, and you can't help but feel for the characters and all the challenges of their youth. The slow burn romance is just the icing. It's so sweet and goes so well, mystery of it all. It's just a very enjoyable easy read, and you should definitely give it a try.

Title: mesmerizing time slip mystery
Review: This is one of the best sci-fi books I've read this year. The idea of two people communicating from two time lines is not new (The Lake House is referenced quite frequently and my husband and I loved that movie), but this did not seem like an imitation. It was very well done with characters that grew on me. The plot twisted and turned, yet was believable. I hoped it would have at least a satisfying, even if not happy, ending, and I was not disappointed. I also enjoyed getting to know more about Toronto and the Indian/south Asian immigrant community.

Title: Enticing, Mysterious, and Adorable
Review: Such a good read! I was nervous about reading a mystery sci-fi romance novel but as a Farah Heron fan, I had to give this book a chance. I finished the book in under a day after an all-nighter because I could not put it down. The mystery is interesting and always gives you just enough information to keep you on your toes, never revealing too much where it was predictable. I kept trying to piece together all the little nuggets of information given to me but never knew how it would end. I thought the romance aspect of the book was a perfect compliment to the crime mystery and had my heart aching for the characters. While I partially wish it was a dual pov book from the curiosity of the other perspective, I understand how that might have complicated the plot presentation a bit. My only qualm was that I felt the "hidden" romance encounters all instantly clicked for me rather than being surprises but it didn't take away from the story at all. I highly recommend this book for a thrilling weekend read!

Title: Phenomenal Read
Review: This story was so unique and enjoyable. The characters are dynamic and multidimensional, and the plot definitely kept me guessing. It was like having the right puzzle pieces and knowing they’re probably in the right order but you still haven’t discovered how to place them at just the right angles. This was my first read from this author, but it definitely will not be my last (although I know from the afterword this is a departure from previous writings).

Title: Great Book
Review: I really enjoyed this book! It was a fun time travel book that had me guessing and was mind bending but not overly complicated. I enjoyed all the different characters and their different worlds. My normal genre is mysteries and time travel and this book kept me turning the pages to see what happens next. I highly recommend it!!

Title: Excellent time difference mystery
Review: Wow! What an intense story! A magical case of “who-done-it”! The story moves steadily forward to an exciting conclusion. However, there are sexual innuendos, college drug & closed door sex parties, and lots of swearing, which is disappointing because the swearing makes recommending this story to others very difficult. The writing is excellent, though, and the plot was incredible. I loved the time difference angle.

Title: WOW
Review: Heart warming mystery which great characters, twists, and a touch of romance. This book is PG and appropriate for tweens and up.My first book by Farrah Heron and I’m so glad I picked it up. Aleeza and Jay’s connection was so strong from the beginning that it had to grow into love… but that’s towards the end.Jack was my favorite character next to Jay. From the beginning I knew there was more to him than first impressions and the way his character develops was addicting.Jay is another one that you really got to feel his growth, although the book is only in Aleez’a POV.Worth the read. Deep but light but poignant. One of my top books foe 2024.

Review: Absolutely loved it from beginning to end! The characters were brilliantly written, the storyline gripping and exciting with some very useful life-lessons thrown in.The beginning of the book lulls you with a slow paced smokescreen after which the pace gets faster and faster until you can't turn the pages quick enough.Fantastic read, can't wait to read more from this author.

Review: I did enjoy this book. Good characters, an interesting story line with a few twists that gradually uncovered.I was not glued to the book and I felt that it lost itself towards the end a bit - can be enjoyed by all mystery /crime/ slightly time twists ,but maybe more the younger end of readership
