Title: Well written but i still have doubts
Review: Very well written and heavily researched, Vince Bugliosi has done a masterful job of explaining what happened and detailing the evidence in a very understandable manner. Interestingly he directly addresses many of the conspiracy theories and debunks them. Note that this book was the basis for the film "Parkland".The author is very strong that Oswald acted alone and that Ruby acted alone, he paints a convincing picture of two lone nuts, coincidence, happenstance and accident bringing them together at just the right time in just the right wrong way. The author also explains a lot of the autopsy controversies and how they happened. That works as far as it goes.My problem with the JFK assassination is that in every investigation and going through every President and every administration since there have been promises and commissions and investigations and executive orders to declassify the evidence and somehow there are still mountains of documents and evidence which are locked away and hidden. Fifty years later i can visit a 1950s missile silo, i can see nuclear weapon blueprints, and even read about actual spies on both sides of the Iron Curtain. Up until the recent Crimea crisis the Cold War had ended. But there are still warehouses full of evidence which may never be released in my lifetime. That tells me that something is wrong, there is still some "truth" being hidden, something which we are not being told. I don't pretend to know what that hidden "truth" is but something is definitely still hidden.Oswald was a putz, i can't imagine that he could organize a loud burp much less be part of any conspiracy. But I also couldn't manipulate a bolt action rifle and get off three shots in under ten seconds with any sort of precision either. Try it yourself, most shooting ranges will let you borrow or rent a rifle to try out, do the experiment yourself. See if you can do it, three shots with a cheap bolt action rifle, lousy scope, 6.8 seconds, two out of three hits on a target moving away from you.....through foliage.......try it, see if you can do it. I couldn't. But this clown Oswald was able to do it?Let's disregard a whole bunch of other stuff, the Grassy Knoll, the eyewitnesses, the "three tramps" and etc. Disregard all of that noise. Let's look at what was happening in Dallas at that point, what the Dallas police were dealing with around 1PM on November 22nd. First there was a near riot going on in Dealey Plaza and a massive investigation going on. Lots of law enforcement people involved. Second there was a major security operation going on at Love Field, securing Air Force One. Third there was another large group at Parkland Hospital investigating the shooting, protecting Johnson and eventually transporting Johnson to the airport. Fourth there was a police shooting, when Officer Tippit was shot. I've seen the police response to an officer being shot, it's massive. All of this is going on pretty much simultaneously.The police dispatcher gets a call that someone sneaked into a movie theater without paying. On a normal day maybe one or two cops would show up an hour later........even today sneaking into a movie theater isn't a high priority police call. But on November 22nd 1963 three cars full of cops with a press contingent following them respond............and there is nothing to explain why the response was so massive..........This book is well worth reading whether you believe the Warren Commission Report or not.

Title: Evidence and Facts Debunks Conspiracy Theories
Review: Infamous trial lawyer, Vincent Bugliosi, (of Helter Skelter/Charles Manson fame) breaks down the most important "Four Days in November", (November 22 - 25), day by day, often minute by minute, and shows definitively how the evidence collected by the police, the FBI, and Secret Service, builds an airtight case against the lone assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald. Reminicient of Gerald Posner's seminal work, "Case Closed", Case Closed, Bugliosi takes a slightly different track in showing how the evidence builds day by day in chronological order. (Both books are in my opinion the most logically compelling legal volumes on the assassination).One cannot solve a murder mystery without hard physical evidence. And in this case, there is a literal mountain of evidence, and it is overwhelming and absolutely conclusive that Lee Oswald was the lone assassin of President Kennedy. Conspiracy theorists like to focus on their own particular perceived inconsistencies in the evidence to "prove" their own pet theories of conspiracy. However, the major fault of conspiracy theorists is that they singularly focus on relatively minor inconsistencies in the evidence, and fail to take in the whole grand scope of evidence which pieced together logically, (as Bugliosi meticulously does) definitively proves that Oswald fired the shots that killed Kennedy and injured Governor Connally. Much to the utter dismay of conspiracy theorists, Bugliosi builds a case against Oswald that cannot be broken.Specifically damning is the following evidence: several eyewitnesses who saw Lee H. Oswald (or at least saw the gun in the window) fire upon the motorcade from the SE corner window of the Texas School Book Depository (TSBD), three expended shell casings below the SE corner window that match Oswald's Italian-made WW II vintage rifle, the paper wrapping found at the SE corner window of the TSBD that one eyewitness saw LHO carry into the TSBD that morning claiming he had "curtain rods", Oswald's fingerprints on the weapon, Oswald's signature for the purchase of the mail-order rifle and the handgun (which killed Officer J. D. Tippit in Oswald's fleeing from the scene of the crime), multiple eyewitnesses that saw Oswald murder Tippit, ballistic evidence that prooves without any doubt that the bullets fired from the handgun are those that killed Tippit, and finally, the evidence (visual and incidental) which places Oswald on the sixth floor of the TSBD on the date and time of the assassination, and also pins Oswald to the scene of the shooting murder of J. D Tippit.Conspiracy theorists, who have written extensively on the Kennedy Assassination, have convinced nearly 2/3rds of the American public that Oswald could not be the killer (many conspiracy books absolutely exhonorate Oswald). They base their various theories (virtually none of them are in agreement with each other), on vague theories which cannot be definitively proven, especially in light of the evidence. Their most important work was to place into doubt the "Magic Bullet Theory", which they say could not have caused the wound to Kennedy's neck and all the wounds to Gov. Connally. The American public ate this up and sided with the conspiracists. Unfortunately for the conspiracists, but fortunately for justice and truth, the Magic Bullet Theory was not "magic" at all, and subsequent frame by frame (computer) analysis of the Abraham Zapruder film, combined with the autopsy facts definitively prove that the shots had to have come only from the TSBD, and the second shot (the so-called "magic bullet")caused the wounds to Kennedy's neck and Gov. Connally. Buffaloed for years by conspiracy theorists, the American public now can see the clear case against the true assassin, Lee Harvey Oswald. No murder case is prosecuted from innuendo and wild imaginings that have no basis in truth; no, rather, a murder is solved by the application of the available evidence, and in this regard, Bugliosi makes his convincing case that only Oswald fired the shots that killed our youthful President and also killed Officer Tippit. To consider Oswald a "patsy", a set-up for a greater conspiracy, is not only a great miscarriage of justice, but further dishonors those killed, and those who were forever traumatized by the cold-blooded murders.There are several good books on the Kennedy assassination, and many books, far too many to mention by name, that are a complete sensationalist waste of time. This book by Vincent Bugliosi is a fondational cornerstone in the case against Oswald. Please read the book, consider the evidence carefully, and then come to your own conclusion. Don't let others wild imaginings (especially Oliver Stone's ridiculous "JFK" movie) decide for you the most important political murder of the 20th century. The case has been definitively solved. It is unfortunate that the American public has been misled for decades by conspiracy theorists who turn the obviously guilty into innocent. Review: Nachdem ich über sein Werk "Helter Skelter" diesen Autor mehr oder weniger zufällig entdeckt habe, bin ich sofort ein großer Fan von Bugliosi geworden. Der Grund ist relativ simpel: Sein Schreibstil ist entwaffnend neutral und objektiv und man hat den Eindruck, dass Bugliosi es nicht nötig hat, seine Recherchen mit Spekulationen und Verschwörungstheorien auszuschmücken - so auch hier: "Four Days in November" beschreibt auf gut 500 Kindle Seiten die Geschehnisse um den Tod von John F. Kennedy sowie dessen mutmaßlichen Mörder Lee Harvey Oswald. Das ganze beginnt am Todestag von John F. Kennedy gegen 6 Uhr morgens und endet (aufgrund des Titels wenig überraschend) vier Tage später mit der Beerdigung von Lee Harvey Oswald. Dazwischen bekommt man alles, aber wirklich alles, minutiös erzählt: Von den Ermittlungen der Polizei von Dallas, insbesondere den Verhören, bis zu den persönlichen Geschichten und Dramen der involvierten Personen bzw. Hinterbliebenen - jeweils untermauert mit Quellenangaben, so dass man wohl zu Recht den Eindruck gewinnen darf, dass einem hier die chronologische Abfolge der Ereignisse objektiv und wahrheitsgemäß erzählt wird.Da es sich bei diesem Buch nur um ein Exzerpt aus einem größeren Werk von Bugliosi handelt, darf man hier keine Auseinandersetzungen mit einzelnen Verschwörungstherien erwarten, nur Fakten. Derjenige, der sich über die geschichtlichen Vorkommnisse informieren will, ist mit diesem Buch gut bedient. Will man allerdings mehr über die "Interpretation" der Vorkommnisse, die Verschwörungstheorien, Folgen etc. wissen, dann wird man wohl zu dem dickeren Wälzer greifen müssen.
