A favorite classroom prep tool of successful students that is often recommended by professors, the Examples & Explanations (E&E) series provides an alternative perspective to help you understand your casebook and in-class lectures. Each E&E offers hypothetical questions complemented by detailed explanations that allow you to test your knowledge of the topics in your courses and compare your own analysis.
Here’s why you need an E&E to help you study throughout the semester:
Clear explanations of each class topic, in a conversational, funny style.Features hypotheticals similar to those presented in class, with corresponding analysis so you can use them during the semester to test your understanding, and again at exam time to help you review. It offers coverage that works with ALL the major casebooks, and suits any class on a given topic.
The Examples & Explanations series has been ranked the most popular study aid among law students because it is equally as helpful from the first day of class through the final exam.

Title: A Life-Saver!
Review: This book saved me during my last semester of 3L year. I had serious seneoritis during this busy semester and I only attended two classes for evidence. I had an outline catered to my professor's class given to me by a friend and this book to study. I read this book and read all the examples and explanations and got a B+ on the course (only used the outline to make sure that the Prof. covered the topics in the E&E). I tabbed the important sections and brought only this book to my exam (I even forgot my Federal Rules of Evidence, but it was ok because this E&E has them reprinted on the back!). Please note that my exam was multiple choice and I do not advice you to study for Evidence in one week. However, if you do find yourself in a time-crunch to prepare for your final, you can solely rely on this book and at the very least get a B for the course. What makes this supplement awesome is that there is no useless information here. Every single page gives you great substantive information in a reader-friendly manner. It's size makes it easy to carry anywhere. At the end of a major topic there usually is a chart that summarizes all the important points of what you just read. There are more charts comparing similarities and differences of certain rules when they apply to the same fact pattern. The examples and the explanations given are very illustrative of the application of the rules you learn throughout. If your professor is heavy on policy (it happens) this E&E will also give you policy justifications for the rules in the explanations. The FRE printed in the back has little explanations under every rule which helps trigger your memory if you have diligently read this book. Finally, some of my friends were really confused by Hearsay and even though it is a difficult topic (because of all the exceptions that apply), this book made it easier to learn. If your exam is open book, then having this by your side will certainly make you feel confident--even if you only attended two classes all semester long!

Title: GOAT Law School Supplement.
Review: This might very well be the best law school supplement for ANY class. It's that good. The questions and answers are so so beneficial. I didn't read the casebook and only read this and still easily got an A.

Title: But this book helped me sum it up and I loved it!
Review: This book helped me so much in evidence and I did well. I did not use the book my professor used and his class was not very helpful. But this book helped me sum it up and I loved it!!!! You just have to do a close reading and really know that almost every line says something important.

Title: Excellent Suppliment
Review: This is a great way to become more comfortable with relevance, hearsay, character evidence, and all the other nuances of evidence law. The explanations are clear, and the examples are helpful. I'd certainly recommend this to anybody trying to do well in their evidence class.

Title: Overall Pretty Good
Review: This is good, but not as good as the e&e supplements for other law school courses. It discusses common law rules a lot, but most classes focus on the federal rules of evidence. It does provide a helpful and succinct explanation of judicial notice and presumptions. Glad that was in there because there were a few questions about those topics on my exam and I didnât do the assigned reading for those topics.

Title: Always love this series of books
Review: Always love this series of books. I found this one especially helpful and not too overwhelming with material. My teacher even pulled midterm multiple choice questions directly from the book so worth a buy!

Title: Not a reliable cram tool for the exam.
Review: If you think this book will help you scoot through evidence, think again. I understand that E & E's are supposed to be cursory reference guides to the material, and by no means comprehensive, but this one takes that to the next level. Not a reliable cram tool for the exam.On the other hand, it reads like a charm. The practice problems are great. It is just so short, and so summary, that as a student fairly knowledgeable in evidence before I bought this book, I felt shortchanged when I spent $50 to find the book was comprised substantially of fairly elementary concepts of evidence. I guess this book is great if it is the semester before you take the class, and you have absolutely no idea what the rules of evidence are and just want prep. Once you are in the class though, the book is kind of useless. The teacher will definitely teach you all that is in here, if you go to a normal law school.
