Title: May seem pricey, but here is why it is worth it!
Review: I am a cognitive scientist who researchers trauma and resilience. And after a pretty rough and stressful 5 or 6 years, I wanted a way to avoid television, cut way back on screen time, and detoxify my mind a bit. Enter Pericle. I have lways loved games. But my busy schedule - and my friends' busy schedules - made game nights, especially for detailed RPG campaigns impossible. The thing about Pericle is that it is an absolute BLAST to play solo! And if you start a campaign solo, you can add friends and family from time to time and it works seamlessly. You can even cswap out characters, either pregenerated or original.Speaking of characters; the character creation flexibility in this game is off the charts. I have never played a game with such an open-ended character generating mechanic. Just brilliant. The artwork and quality of the game components is very good. Long Dog did not skimp on this game. The Loremaster (an included web-based app) guides your campaign - so no need for detailed planning, and no one has to do all the work to make sure the party has fun. Everyone plays! The apps art, music, narration, and helpful, intuitive interface make this a simple game to learn. Yes, there is a small (but steep) learning curve regarding combat mechanics - but the game is combat heavy, so you get the basics down very quickly. Resource collection is nicely balanced, and combat is varied and interesting.Typically, my play sessions are an hour or two, but there are logical breaks every 30-45 minutes which is perfect. However, even if you have to pause in the middle of combat, Loremaster remembers where you are. Take a picture of the board on your phone. Put the game away if you have to and come back later.Bottom line: The price may seem high, but if you look at bog box games, it isn't. Read the product description and see how many mini-standees come in this game. There are over 50 map boards as well! You can also count on at least 60-70 hours of play, even if you skip sidequests (but don't - they are worth it). The game is immersive and of superior quality. Gameplay is surprisingly flexible as well. $160 is a lot for a game. But if you play video games on a console, Pericle becomes even more of a bargain - and you get to actually engage your brain.

Title: Great game
Review: It's a fun game. It's a really good quality game set you can use at your table as well. It's not quite dnd and has some interesting changes to combat. Some I love, some not as much, but that's to be expected. The flow of the game is slow at first, because the mechanics are new, but the app really helps. We played the tutorial twice. No... it's not perfect, but it's also not from the corporate grindstone, and I'm supporting a small business, so I'm all in. It's a fun game. The Kickstarter is open now for the second edition. I'm already signed up. No, I didn't get a game for free or work for them. We've really been enjoying it. 😉

Review: Love this game and the gang behind it, who are very responsive to questions and reports of typos, etc, in these early editions of the game.

Title: Very high price point
Review: I absolutely adore the concept. I really do. I really wanted to like this, but it felt like I was ripped off. A nearly 200 game that still uses cheap plastics and cardboard maps/bits. If this were more affordable, or if the bits and bobs weren't so... cheap. I would have kept this and played it for hours. Felt like such a high price point for what I got that I returned it after first use. Couldn't stomach spending almost 200 on what arrived.

Title: Core game disorganized, Pericle.app is too slow to use..
Review: I want to like this game, but the app itself is very difficult to use. During play on the app, u can't mark your own characters as dead, videos have to be viewed in non-full screen mode without buffer hangups (need learn from netflix). The manual is horribly organized. See Range in Handbook, but don't have a glossary or TOC that points them there. Just say the page in x book! How hard is it. Weapons and armor could have been one table with attribute requirements and list the Carrying Capacity hits per item. Disciplines have a breakout of Discipline types (i.e. Axe and related Disciplines) but then list the descriptions in KN order which means you have to flip between pages to look the skills up, same for spells. Flipping back and forth, the pages start pulling out. The app needs a real character builder! Also, you don't need to buy the cards or dice or hp trackers, the manual and cards have errors that u have to just deal with.
