Review: After spending a month on looking for a projector that provides quality at an affordable price, I decided to go with GooDee's YG600 model. A friend of mine owns the previous, YG500 model, and I can tell that there has been a major update since, both in the resolution (this one is a WXGA projector) and the brightness of the light source. The photos attached were taken with a smart phone. The second picture shows how the image is like with night light on (6W LED, comparable to a 40W standard bulb). As one can see, the image still has enough contrast to it. In a dark environment, it truly renders a cinema experience. There are several options available in the menu. Amongst others, one can set the colour temperature (there are preset options, such as cold, standard, warm), colour balance (e.g., dynamic, user defined), there are audio filters that boost bass if needed (the audio quality is pretty decent given that the projector has only two 3W speakers; one is seemingly dedicated to drive bass; altogether, they fill a room with no problem), and one can also set date, time and sleep timer. As for the quality of the image, the resolution of the LCD panel of the projector is the same as that of a standard 13"-15" monitor. At a projected size of 100" (the one claimed to be the optimal), one can enjoy HD contents without losing detail. I found that there are two useful contrast options: standard and dynamic. The former gives a bit more detail to the picture, whereas the latter stretches the contrast, making bright parts of the image stand out and deepening dark areas. Also, with dynamic contrast and adjusted, slightly reduced green tint and raised red level, the colours are very close to how my computer's screen renders them with calibrated colour profile. Please mind that the Keystone correction is optical, so the edges of the picture may be blurry when projected at an angle. This, however, is known to affect all similar projectors (just like slight chromatic aberration around the edges does). The fan of the projector is of course audible, but it is in no way disruptive. The tiny holes in the front panel are not just part of the stylish design but also help heat dissipation. The fans seem to cool the device efficiently, pumping out a lot of hot air (while leaving the case itself cold to touch). I am sure it prolongs the life of the light source. As for the in-built OS, the OSD seems to have been translated to many languages, but there is room for improvement. I could not find an option for changing the volume; one could change it though using the remote control. Also, while the device plays MKV files with no problem, I could not seem to find an option for changing the language of the subtitles shown. Should one use a computer or a media stick to stream content, these issues do not emerge; they might, however, if one plans to play media files from a micro SD card or via USB.On balance, I think this is the best projector currently available on the market in terms of quality/price.

Review: Love this projector! I have wanted to get one for a while as my girlfriend's sister had one by a well known brand. I've never had one before so this was my first time getting a projector so I wanted to ensure I made the right choice. I did a lot of research, checking out various articles for the best buys and reading customer reviews. Obviously the top brands would be an obvious choice, but I felt they were priced quite high and as well, from my research I realised there were many other competitors in the market providing good quality projectors at competitive prices. The GooDee projector popped up in a number of best buy articles and Youtube videos and with its customer ratings and reviews, I decided to go for this projector. And I havenât been disappointed. The picture quality is great. We are getting a picture size of approx 200in and the picture is clear and sharp. I mean I donât feel itâs quite HD but with the size of the picture we are getting I think itâs perfect. We are projecting directly onto a wall as well so that possibly could be why the picture is not fully HD. Regardless I have the projector for over a month now and, for me, the picture quality has been perfect while getting that home cinema experience. In relation to the sound, I am happily satisfied. Iâm the kind of person who prefers the volume too loud as I hate when you find it hard to hear the dialogue. I want to get it all in! And I must say the GooDee projector hasnât disappointed. It has a surround sound feature that I keep it on, which gives it an extra boost. Even on occasions I had to switch off the surround sound as it has been too loud. This leads me to one negative note. There does not seem to be volume control on the projector which would be convenient. However I still must get batteries for the remote so maybe that option would be enabled then. One other negative feedback I would have on the product is that there is no function to reduce the picture throw. I was unable to position the projector where I wanted to in my living room as the picture was too large and not fitting the wall space I had. So I had to move it forward, approx 2m from my wall, in order to fit the space. Even still the bottom right hand corner is being cut off by the stairs. Initially it wasnât ideal but again for that home cinema experience I am getting, now I donât even notice it. Just to let you, the projector does come with keystone and focus functions. The thing I love most about this projector is that it comes 2*HDMI/2*USB/VGA/AV ports. So along with the projector, I purchased an Amazon firestick, popped it into the back of the projector and at the click of a button I have access to Netflix, Amazon Prime, Youtube, Spotify etc. all on my 200in screen. I love it!So overall this projector has been a dream; everything I wanted for a great price!

Review: What's not to like ? An HD movie projector with good brightness at a low price with a pretty good picture.Starting with the negatives:Picture quality: We think the sweet spot for the picture is 3-4m from the wall. Any closer and it just wont be sharp anywhere. At that sweet spot we can get 90% of the screen in good focus. Around the edges it gets a little fuzzy which is more noticeable if there's text there.Sound: get a soundbar. the sound quality from the speakers isnt very good at all and it is strange trying to watch a screen with the sound behind you.Adjustment: there is no height adjustment on the projector - but you can easily get around that.Noise: its described as having low fan noise. I wouldnt agree. But its not so noisy that it is intrusive.Plus points:Picture: 90% of the screen is in focus. If you're watching a movie you will be concentrating on the action in the middle of the screen so you wont notice the fuzziness. Just assume its photographer's bokeh.Brightness: You can see everything that's going on. We havent tried it in bright light - but who wants to watch a movie in broad daylight anyway ?Set up: while the instructions are not well translated, it is very easy to set up.It does the essential stuff very well. defintely good vfm

Review: I bought this to replace my BenQ, which was 800x600 and not LED. I thought for the price I'd give it a go and if it wasn't great I'd let the kids use it in their room for disney movies, etc. But to my surprise, the quality of this is actually really good. The build quality is quite impressive considering the cost. I've not really used the built in speaker much, just a quick test, but It sounded loud and clear enough for general use. The resolution of this projector is great, far better than 800x600. The LED light source is bright enough, even in a room with lights on. The only time I couldn't see it very well was when the sun was coming directly through the window. This projector has a manual keystone adjustment, which works ok but if you have the projector too high or too low relative to the centre of your chosen "screen", you can't get the top or bottom as sharp as the rest. I mounted it level to the centre of my screen, 5 meters away and the picture is super sharp in the centre and pretty sharp everywhere else, even in the corners. Colours are great. Good contrast and brightness. the cooling fan's not very loud either, once you're into the movie, you don't even notice it.**Update**I've now been using this projector for nearly 2 years. I still can't fault it, for the price it has been more than worth it. It has been used regularly (every other day) and there has not been any issues with it at all! I want to purchase a 1080P projector, but I really cant justify it as there is nothing wrong with this one and full HD would only be slightly better, so I'll stick with this one just now! Maybe just wait for a 4K version...For the price, I really have nothing bad to say about it. It even comes with a lens cap which my BenQ didn't at more than twice the cost! Definitely worth every penny!

Review: Wow - what a fantastic projector! I was shopping for ages for a decent projector for my man cave, I looked at Epson & Infocus home cinema projectors and wanted HD. I came across this Goodee projector which had fantastic reviews but surely it couldn't be as good as those named brands and so much cheaper? Well, it is! I have had this projector for 3 months now and it hasn't put a step wrong. I use if for HDMI to the xbox, vga to a pc & USB for memory stick (digital copy of films) & a google chromecast. All work absolutely fine and a decent HD picture. I watch films and play game (xbox) and I don't miss a thing compared to playing on a tv. Yes its a projector so you may need to pull the curtains in bright daylight but in my opinion this happens not matter the brand. The remote control makes navigating easy and it has a built in menu for looking at photo's or video via USB. Fantastic value and great quality.
