Title: "WHOA, what's this show?"
Review: ...I thought when I looked for something interesting to purchase to watch. I'd always LOVED the Twilight Zone (own and watched all of them) liked the Outer limits and Amazing Stories, and enjoyed, to a lesser extent, Ray Bradbury Theater. So I took a risk on a show I'd never watched and bought this. Here's the lowdown:The "good": The shows are generally terrific! They didn't have the money or technology to impress viewers so they used writing and imagination instead. You can watch them with "tweens" as there is not any gratuitous blood and gore that modern horror directors use to make up for a lack of ability. The show has a formula which I assume was copied by the Twilight Zone - a well dress guy starts and ends the show. I like watching the show with other people - it's almost as fun watching them react. Every episode purports to be based on a real incident which makes them even more compelling. I like that they are in black and white. What's more scary than a creepy show in black and white? It's like watching the shadow of reality...The "bad": Not much. I guess they must not have saved the original recording of this show. Some of the episodes have spots that look like a bad film running through an old projector. Also, some of the shows are more about strange mental telepathy incidents than you might expect. While this concept was "new" when this show was made, over the years, we've grown used to the concept of metal telepathy. It's not as scary now as it was then.I gave this 5 Stars. I really loved it. Rates just behind the Twilight Zone, about even with Amazing Stories, and ahead of the Outer Limits and Ray Bradbury Theater.BY THE WAY... If any of you have recommendations for good, scary series like the above, I'd love to see them!

Title: An interesting predecessor to Twilight Zone
Review: Can't really complain about the picture quality as you have to consider the source material. A great blast from the past for old TV and you will see many familiar faces from other TV shows and movies of the 60's and 70's.

Title: Go One Step Beyond
Review: I'll start off by saying, I have never heard of One Step Beyond. It was way before my time. I read the reviews and became curious! So I bought the 12 DVD Box Set. I loved it! John Newland as narrator awesome! He takes actual cases of paranormal experiences, past lives, esp, apparitions, out-of-body experiences and make dramatizations out of them. A few of my favorites:(1)Tonight at 12:17-A pregnant woman has erie premonitions about a plane crash. (2)The Peter Hurkos Story pt.1-Based on his life story. How he discovered his psychic abilities. (3) The Peter Hurkos Story pt.2-Peter tracks down a killer, using his psychic abilities. (4)Person Unknown-An artist uses the death mask of a victim to set a man free. Just to mention a few. I have to agree with one reviewer it's cheaper if you buy the volumes seperately. I don't know why. The box set is a little pricey, but it's well worth it! DVD transfer very good.Sound quality very good.I am a twilight zone fan,but twilght zone can't compare to one step beyond! I can see where twilight zone got alot of their ideas. I want to get all episodes!! I've already ordered One step Beyond-Collection 1. I recommend you either by one step beyond seperately or the box set! You won't be disappointed!

Title: Lousy transfer/ Worn copies
Review: It's incredible that in february 2004 you get a DVD release that has the sound and video quality of an old betamax tape. The releasers used the most worn copies that they could found. They are filled of scratches and splices. They are dark, grainy and the sound quality is awful. This is a lack of respect to the consumer and to "One Step Beyond"On my opinion, don't buy the complete set. Get one single and if you consider that the quality is enough, then get the rest. It's easier to dispose away one DVD than twelve. If what you want is to have the collection because of it's historical interest, then don't listen to me, but I'm complaining because actually I'm watching "on air" (on saturday nights) some copies that have full quality; but I'm unable to get them. So, there are still good copies from where the releasers can make a good quality DVD transfer.

Title: I like this series!
Review: This shows grows on you as you watch different episodes. When I first started watching I wasn't too impressed with the story quality. But as you get into the writing style the stories grab your interest. The video quality is not that great, but as others have said it almost makes it more interesting. The sound quality is adequate. What bothers me is not the viewing quality of the show......it is the fact that I only have 50 of the 97 episodes.I am missing almost half of the series.I want the whole series and preferably in remastered quality.I hope who ever has control of this show will release all the episodes.I would recommend getting this show, as I am glad I have half of the series. The acting, writing and production styles of this era are more interesting to watch than current productions.Amazon is perhaps the best place to get your dvd collections IMHO.

Title: Best series ever produced!
Review: This was a series that I watched as a child during my formative years. It completely convinced me that we have many dimensions, and that these stories really happened. Great primer for all people into the metaphysical world in a basic straightforward way - you don't need to meditate or believe anything in particular. Just good old 1950's/60's facts about everyday people and unusual phenomena they experienced. Still the best series ever produced on human experiences with the unknown. John Newland was perfect as the researcher/narrator. Great value too!
