Title: Goodbye Wyze, hello Tapo!
Review: I’ll be writing this on all the Tapo cameras I’ve recently purchased. (4x C110, 2x C210, 2x C520WS)These are flawless, amazing, and so far ahead of Wyze it’s not even funny. They are massively affordable, truly need no subscription, have fantastic features in their app, can record locally to an SD card; everything you would want. Coming from Wyze (see more below), I didn’t know that cameras were supposed to act like this. I assumed, at Wyze prices, that I was getting what I paid for. But when I finally had enough constant stress and spent the money to change to Tapo… my life has been changed. Seriously, I probably added years to my life not being so stressed out all the time because my cameras never, ever worked right. These do, and I cannot say it enough times… if you’re currently using Wyze then get one of these. Use it for a week side-by-side and tell me what you think.Super light, have a few of mine mounted with ‘hard plastic velcro’ (3M Dual Lock). Setup is fast and easy, and works right away. Don’t have to do it over and over again (Wyze). Clarity is superb - 1440p quality. Night vision is phenomenal. Don’t really care about ‘color’ night vision - but my outdoor ones do have it. And one of the best parts is Tapo is part of TP-Link. What does that mean? TP-Link has been around for a very long time, and they specialize in networking equipment, LoL. So yeah, if you want a reliable camera on your network, who better to trust than a networking company.TLDR: Don’t waste your time on any other brand. Buy these. I promise you won’t regret it.About Wyze:If you’re like me and never wanted to spend thousands on home monitoring and security, then you may have stumbled upon Wyze cameras. At first, they were amazing - very affordable with no subscription necessary. And they worked. Over time, that changed drastically as they ventured into making everything else on the planet instead of focusing on their roots (cameras). They funded that stuff by changing to a subscription policy. And in their haste had multiple security breaches and problems such as other people viewing cameras that aren’t theirs. This is of course while the software and hardware has become so incredibly bad that they’re unusable. I mean, they actually do not function 92% of the time. Whether it’s freezing, not connecting, stuttering so bad that it looks like a PowerPoint presentation, app for closing, etc.

Title: Hard to beat for price.
Review: There’s 1 downside to WiFi cameras. Your internet speed has to include enough upload gbps per camera for optimal results. Example 10 gbps is enough for 3-4 cameras unless you’re uploading something at the same time. Yes you can run 8-10 cameras but you’ll see delays, buffering and be disappointed in speeds. Proper upload speeds is vital so you can run your cameras and other uploading data (basically sending, example : to cloud, to another devices to private storage). If you use cameras for live viewing and no saving video upload speeds aren’t important. That said, these Tapo ptz cameras work good, they move properly, app is intuitive, storage is cheap $10 for 10 cameras for 30 days, they’re a TP-Link products so it’s amazing like everything they make. I see TP-link to electronics as I do 3m to adhesives. Simply works. These cameras are 2k so zooming is ok but they don’t actually zoom it’s an in picture zoom. The cord is 2 piece so you can put attached side through a wall and connect adapter side in a plug inside but not have to make a huge hole. 3/8” hole is all you need. Entire unit is compact and has 4 holes in mounting plate to easily with a template to mark for plastic anchors or pre-drill hard surfaces.TP-link start up is by far the easiest I’ve seen and I’m a fan.1 caveat I have is, when volume is on there’s no was to avoid hearing the motor turn the camera. These are NOT for high security areas or places subject to damage, mounting plate and body are plastic but you should know that when purchasing anyway. I would not hesitate at all to buy TP-link cameras or recommend to them to my own family and friends.

Title: Wow! 😍
Review: What a GREAT product. It’s a steal for the price. The picture quality is insane. My sister is actually going to purchase these cameras from the ones she pays $40 a month for. That says a lot. Easy to setup. The alarm is loud and the light is bright. I still need to figure out how to set the boundaries.

Title: Would be a 5 except for issue with SD card install.
Review: Everything works and looks great. Awesome tracking and resolution. The only issue was the difficulty with the 2 very small screws that hold the SD card access panel. Eventually lost one and had to replace with one in the drawer, but still had to file the screw head down to allow full motion of the camera. Oh well, I would still buy again.

Title: Affordable, Many Features!
Review: I've been looking at getting smart security cameras for a while but couldn't get myself to invest since many were very expensive. I happened to come across this brand upon looking into getting a TP Link wifi extender. Once I saw the price, I jumped on it right away. We started out with one and placed it on the corner of our separate garage. It works really well!It has a very good range, we mainly point it to get a full view of our house, but with the same camera we can pan it towards the front of our garage. You can save viewpoints so you can have different camera views with one click. From one camera we can get a view of our garage door, garage side entrance, front yard, and front of our house. We decided to buy 2 more to cover the other sides of our house. You can also have it patrol on it's own, which makes the camera pan side to side or up and down. It will detect motion, you can choose how sensitive you would like it to be. You can have it also track moving objects, but if it moves too fast outside it's viewpoint it isn't able to follow it completely. It won't catch any movement outside it's viewpoint of course, which makes sense. There is "home" or "away" settings, you can turn on privacy mode if you don't want it recording. To actually have the camera record you will need a microSD card, or you can use their Tapo Care. It's very affordable compared to others and it's unlimited cloud storage. They offer free Tapo Care for a full month, no charge without requiring card information.

Review: Thank you, TP-Link!It is refreshing to purchase an item and have it work better than advertised, but this camera is so much better than claimed I was shocked. I have 6 Eufy 2C cameras which I thought provided a good video image but were limited in having a fixed FOV there was some void coverage. My 2 Blink cams are also fixed position and again this left areas not protected so I started looking for a PTZ that would follow a person and record locally. My primary concern was nighttime videos in full color and while almost every camera on the market claim to have this capability some of those claims are vastly exaggerated. The Beenocam 4k produced an acceptable day image but the night view was at best horrible. I tried numerous setting and locations but was never able to get an identifiable image of a person walking a dog only 15 feet away from the camera. Yes, there was a dark blob for the person, but the dog looked like a dark mass that was somehow moving. After 2 weeks of trying to get it focused, I gave up and returned the product.Next the Reolink Trackmix. I really wanted this one to work so spent hours daily adjusting settings and working with their tech support. To their credit tech support stayed in daily contact but most of the suggestions were to turn off certain features or install older software updates and follow the online video solutions which did not work. The day image was superb except the tracking would work maybe 40% of the time and the sound was unintelligible. The night vision was almost as bad as the Beenocam. The nighttime black and white images looked washed out while the nighttime color left complete sections of the scene pixelated beyond recognition. After 3 frustrating weeks of many hours each day I finally admitted defeat and returned the camera.I was just about to add some more Eufy cams when it occurred to me that I had great success with the outdoor plugs from TP-Link and remembered seeing a favorable review of their C520 WS. I seldom take professional reviews seriously, preferring to believe the individual ratings, but thought I would give this product a try. I am so glad I did. This is how every security camera should work. While only a PT (no Z) the images both day and night are outstanding. The camera picks up a person, identifies them as a person with a blue header and follows them across the full range of motion that I set, roughly 210 degrees. I have turned off the night leds and set the image even at night to day mode. The image is crystal clear. The mic produces clear sound both sending and receiving. I did play a little with sensitive setting but that was only a minor hiccup. I tend to review any footage daily so only installed a 32GB card which can overwrite with new images, so I don’t see the need for anything larger. I can manually zoom if needed which is what I do with my Eufy cams so overall I would give this product a 5+ if that were possible. I will be using these cameras as replacements in the near future as they are that good. Thank you TP-Link
