Title: A pleasing mixture of gifts
Review: If you’re looking for a nice little variety of gifts for somebody, or even to just “treat yo self,” this gift box is a nice choice.Included are a pair of soft socks, nice smelling bath salts, a fancy golden stirring spoon, a very pretty mug with a lid to keep your drink warm (that even has a hole in it to simultaneously rest the spoon in the cup), a cute little candle, and a little card. This particular gift box theme gives the recipient a reminder that they’re awesome, and not to forget it. It’s a sweet sentiment and a great choice for a friend/valued coworker/family member who loves baths or spas or simply just deserves to be pampered (and we all know somebody like that).The box itself is a mixture of pleasing pinks, purples, and golds, all of which are very rich colors and set the tone for the splendor within. My only complaint is that the amount of contents within vs. the size of the box can make it feel like a little bit of a letdown upon initially opening it. For the price, the person buying it is getting a decent deal since, let’s be honest, gift boxes/baskets are hecking expensive, and generally so are each of the individual types of items contained inside this one (the cost of candles alone makes me shudder). However, from a recipient point of view, I can’t help but consider maybe the box could be a bit smaller to prevent the “big box = bigger expectations,” which can lead to a bit of an initial letdown. There’s also the possibility of including a larger candle instead, as the size of the candle is, in my opinion, a little underwhelming. Then again, doing either of these things might come at the cost of foam that would keep the items in the box better protected. It’s a catch-22.Overall, this is a very nice gift for somebody who enjoys baths/pretty gift baskets, but also deserves something a bit more encouraging and individualized than just a generic bath set.
