Title: The rare unicorn of cookbooks--inspirational and practical
Review: This is a stunningly beautiful book but what has made it an instant go-to in my home is how approachable it is. Odette has a warmth and generosity that comes through in Simple Pasta. She is sharing real recipes that she has tried out on her real family and friends. Her writing is unpretentious, funny and encouraging--and you enter into each recipe feeling like she believes in you; like she knows that you are going to hit the dish out of the park. I can't wait to finish working my way through the book--so far the sweet corn and jalapeño ravioli are family favorites and a perfect end of summer dish. (Plus the cocktail recipes are like bonuses--like an extra little treat for the cook).

Title: Easy, delicious, elegant recipes
Review: I absolutely love this book. We make the vodka sauce at least monthly. The pomodoro sauce tastes just like my favorite spaghetti that we would get when eating out as a kid. The other random recipes we have tried have been easy to put together, complex and well balanced taste-wise, and very fresh. The pasta dough is delectable. We invested in an Atlas 150 roller because we were making it so often. I can never get my dishes to look as beautiful as the author does, but the taste is out of this world. It's becoming increasingly more difficult for me to eat dried pasta after I started cooking with this book!

Review: I have hundreds of cookbooks and I’m running out of room so it has to be a great book for me to find a spot for a new one. This book is definitly worth making room for. Fresh, approachable recipes that I’m dying to try. High quality, plenty of pictures, real easy writing style.

Title: Amazing balance of simple and sophisticated
Review: Like other reviewers, the author's previous book, Simple Cake, occupies a special place in our kitchen. As the mother of an enthusiastic four-year-old baker I had to buy a second copy as the pages got stuck together with batter.Simple Pasta is every bit as delightful. Often I find recipe books proclaiming 'simple' to be so basic as to be boring; or worse, excessively complicated ("This simple recipe only takes 3 days. You'll need to start by getting out your sous vide cooker...."). However, Odette Williams seems to have a knack for genuinely simple recipes that present like you put way more effort in and taste like a pro made them.The structure of this book is as helpful as the last: seasonal menus make it easier to decide where to start (option paralysis over what to have for dinner is another problem in our house); and we started by cooking some gnocchi with a truly unbelievable tomato sauce. It's all about the anchovies. While making your own pasta isn't something we're going to do every night, I appreciated Odette's dried pasta suggestions.There are so many new ideas here, all of them crowd pleasers that are easy to pull off. Simple = better. Well worth the investment.

Review: Ich hatte erst kürzlich mit dem Pastamachen angefangen und wollte durch das Buch ein paar erste Rezepte kennenlernen. Das hat sich voll eingelöst. Alle Rezepte haben bisher funktioniert und geschmeckt. Ausserdem ist es sehr schön aufgemacht. Ist vielleicht nicht das Wichtigste, aber bei Kochbüchern freut mich immer, wenn sie mattes, festes Papier haben und das ist hier der Fall. Die Bilder und Erklärungen sind auch sehr gut. Ich bleib dabei und werde weitere Rezepte ausprobieren.
