Title: So close, but could be better
Review: The good part.: This machine is FAST and oh so quiet. You can barely hear it running. All fans blow out. vents on the top plate and rear allow replacement air to come in. The top has a mesh laying over it to act as a filter. The rear has none. Mine came with an ASRock Motherboard. and a ZOTAC 4070 Super. The primary drive is a 2TB NvMe. It will run update on the first start. Within 24 hours, the nVidia drive needed updating but that was not unusual. It appears the NvMe was cloned, and it asks the usual questions on first startup. It IS home version, not pro. Everything worked with no issues on first start. The keyboard is simple 104 key, and has a thin RGB line around the edges. The keys are illuminated. The mechanical feel is VERY good. Quiet too. There are 4 DDR5 memory slots. 2 Used, so 2x32 DIMMS. 2 are available but it does come with 64GB so you probably don't need them. The are RGB on the edge with pulsating color. Kinda nice actually. Now the bad part: Documentation was dismal. None except for a quick start card. It is home version so no gpedit.msc to correct issues without a bit of work to get it installed. Lots of bloatware. It comes with a trial version of office and prompted several times, in an attempt to get me to buy into it. Co-pilot comes pre-enabled, as well as Bing and Feedback hub.More bad: Even though the ASRock MB has two M.2 slots, only one is used. They include no manual, screws or extra cables. So, you can expand the hard drive space easily, but you're on your own for the hardware to do it. The are 4 visible SATA slots unused. You can add drives therefore. However, there are no cable, SATA or power exposed for your use. Even a motherboard manual you're on your own to get. The built in M.2 is a WD Blue M.2, so not the best or fastest. Conclusion: So, no power connectors, screws or manuals. NO documentation, but it does work as advertised. It's quick and quiet. Very fast and expandable with some difficulty. For games, you can't beat it. 120 FPS at QHD resolution. 1HDMI and 3 DisplayPort connectors on mine. Sound is on the MB and works, but nothing too fancy. For the price point/ equipment balance, it's at the right place on the curve giving you great bang for your buck. Not a bad choice at all, but does have some shortcomings.
