Title: Beef scent seems "off," but the ball performs well. Uncertain it's worth the current list price.
Review: Playology's Dual Layer Beef-scented Ball is the perfect size for my medium-sized breed pup. He is typically not too ball motivated (unless they're the plastic balls in his ballpit), so I was curious whether the beef scent would appeal to him to increase his interest and prolong his engagement. Although the ball is obviously scented, it smells "off" and nothing remotely like beef to me; regardless, it does seem to pique my pup's attention enough that he interacts w/ it just a smidge longer than most balls. The ball seems to be constructed from a durable quality rubber. It bounces and rolls nicely as he chases after it. For dogs w/ an actual high ball drive, I do not doubt that this would be a great addition to their collection. However, I remain unconvinced that the current list price is justified, as it seems a tad steep.

Title: Very solid, well made, heavy
Review: This seems like a good quality. It seems well made and possibly pretty sturdy. My dog doesn't really care for the ball so hasn't really done much damage to it. My dog doesn't really play with balls, she prefers other toys. I got this to see if it would entice her a little bit more. She played with it a little bit but soon lost interest. The smell didn't seem to help at all. I still think for a dog who enjoys balls it might be good.It does seem a touch heavy, but for a dog who really goes to town on these it might be good. Very sturdy. It has a little bit of a bounce to it as well. It seems like a good tough toy.I did take away a star because I thought that the scent would entice my dog more to be interested in it over other balls. She played with it about as long as she does with any other ball toys I've tried. I still think this is a good toy for dogs who already enjoy balls.Also, my cat really likes it. She enjoys grabbing it and kicking it, pushing it around.

Title: My dog loves it - and hasn't destroyed it!
Review: I have an 80-pound super chewer who destroys other "durable" toys in minutes. In fact most of the toys that last are the ones he isn't very interested in. *sigh* We're always looking for a toy that he actually likes to play with, but doesn't destroy immediately, and this one is a winner! He was very excited to play with this ball, and he's not usually much of a ball dog. He prefers chewing, which this is also great for.He was so excited about this that he even threw it for himself and chased it around a bit before settling in for a good long chew. Although the ball has visible teeth marks, it's still going strong. His last toy for heavy chewers was in pieces by 20 minutes, so this one is doing great by comparison. I have a feeling it will last quite a while - which is important since it's not cheap. (Neither was the one he destroyed in 20 minutes.)

Review: The scent infused in this ball must be some kind of witchcraft, because our standard poodle goes absolutely bonkers for this ball. He plays with it, sleeps with it, carries it around the house with him, and treats it almost like a kid would treat a favorite doll. It's extremely durable and bounces pretty well on hard floors, so I do think it's worth the price.
