Unfortunately, the world is full of screwed-up people. But the good news, says Elizabeth Brown, is that your world no longer has to revolve around them. With brilliant insights and a keen sense of humor, this trusted author and sought-after speaker shows readers how to:
• stop the power of whatever is eating them alive
• productively respond when confronted
• remain poised and in control when everyone around them loses it
• win fairly in unfair battles
• let go of what has been, or what they wish would be, and live triumphantly now
Dozens of real-life success stories, brief diagnostic tests, and practical tools are included to help readers assess their own situations and gain confidence to change self-defeating behaviors. This popular word-of-mouth bestseller now has an updated look.

Title: Who Doesnât Need A Book Like This
Review: Well written, keeps your interest, and the questionnaires and results are very helpful. I bought this one for a suffering family member but my worn out old copy has lots of notes in the margins drawing connections between simple principles offered that are actually solidly based in scripture. It helped me so much to mitigate the impact on my life from abusive and emotionally ill family members. Life changing.

Title: Learning how to cope (purchased at Amazon.com)
Review: This book is amazing! It is a very easy book to read and won't take you long. It has very practical advise for understanding how difficult people take advantage of us. But more importantly how to identify these behaviors. This book outlines not only what are healthy and unhealthy relationships but also shows us how to stop the caos. Questions within each chapter allow self-analysis. This always enables us to reflect on what is really happening in our lives. Are we nuts or is it what we are thinking. I read it initially then re-read it and took my time to process all the wonderful advise. Please take advantage of this little book about coping.

Title: An aptly titled, helpful book
Review: The basic premise of this book is very simple and relevant: you may be forced into tough situations with people who are dysfunctional. Here's how to deal with them without losing your mind. The book is written in simple, readable prose. She goes through recognizing the problem (including if it is you, yourself being a SUP) as well as numerous coping tactics and strategies for success. It's a quick read that helps you regain some of the balance that the SUP in your life steal with their multitude of issues. One of the key things I liked was the fact that she did keep the book focused on the reader. It does not try to help you change someone else, forcibly. She wants you to figure out how to get what you want in an argument or discussion without being sucked into the vortex of the SUP. Moreover, it does help recognize codependent or unhealthy situations in your life. She does not in any way condone abusive relationships or "blame the victim." I highly recommend this book, it is a quick and useful read. You can bypass her next book, it is essentially a copy of this one.

Title: This Is An Interesting Important Book About Relationships.
Review: This is an interesting important books about relationships. I liked reading this book because I felt that the author of the book was straight to the point and the book does offer some hope to some people in some circumstances. Some of the interesting information that this book mentions in it includes the following information: Appreciating the differences In people around us expands and enlarges our world. Respecting differences is critical to getting along with people. The single most dramatic difference between healthy and toxic relationships is the amount of freedom that exists for each person to express himself or herself as an individual. As much as some people wish it to be different, some relationships are hopeless. A divorced woman's odds of dying in a given year from certain types of cancer are two to three times more than that of a married woman. Death for divorced men is four times more via auto accidents and suicide. Conflict between couple that is married is not always automatically terminated by a divorce. The breakup of any significant relationship is rarely a ticket to complete freedom because many people carry the hurt and sorrow of the past relationship with them. Only 10% of the people from broken marriages responded that both people were living happier, fuller lives within a decade after the divorce was granted.

Review: Very good advice for when you're done being angry. Be aware there's a faith/God chapter in it so the author is coming from a Christian perspective but this is not apparent for most of the book nor shoved down your throat when it happens. I'm an atheist and not offended or put off by it ( although admittedly, I did gloss over the faith parts) but very good if you don't consider it as 'turning the other cheek' but freeing yourself of what's happened to you.
