Title: Surprisingly better than expected
Review: As a person (finally) working from home on the overnight shift, coffee is my life force. It keeps me sane. It keeps me moving. It's worth the extra bit of effort. After the Keurig my mother in law bought me a couple of years finally died - may it rest in many small pieces - I went in search of a percolator. I was brought up straining a few coffee grounds through my teeth and prefer the flavor to a drip machine. In all honesty, if we had a gas stove instead of an electric, I'd just get out the old camping percolator and be happy with that. It won't heat properly on the electric. I ended up buying this one because "ooo... pretty shiny copper finish".There are a couple of things that are a little off-putting. First is that the divot inside the pot where the percolating rod sets is hard to clean. That's just what happens in these types of pots, and I had forgotten about that. It's also a reminder to cut my nails every now and again so I can stick a finger in there to get it clean. Not really a problem at all. Second is the the cord is not grounded, but honestly, I live in a kind of terrible apartment and I really doubt that would be the reason this place eventually goes up in flames. Since we do not leave the coffee maker unattended while it's plugged in, it's not really a concern at all.In the instructions that come along with the pot, it says to run plain water through at least twice. I found that it wasn't enough to get the manufacturing flavor out. But since Grandma taught me that running a cycle of 1 part white vinegar to 3 parts water is amazing for cleaning percolators out, I did that a couple of times, then ran clean water again. It's been great since that treatment. With my working nights and my husband working days, this little dude's gotten a workout in the week-ish that we've had it. Both of us have been extremely satisfied. It only takes a few minutes to perk up a whole pot. Once you know the ratio of grounds to water - something that varies slightly with every machine - it's easy enough to customize the strength of the brew to the person making the coffee. The keep warm feature and the insulated carafe work better than expected. The heating element does not have to be as hot, because of the insulated carafe. The coffee stays warm without getting the scorched flavor that often happens with drip makes where the glass carafe is seating on a heated plate. Even after turning the heating element off and unplugging the pot it stays warm for longer than I originally expected.tl;dr: Good pot. Happy pot. Shiny pot. Run white vinegar through it before using the first time. Careful of grounds in the last cup.Now it's time to go refill my cup.

Title: What was I so afraid of?
Review: Percolated coffee was to me as Grand Unified Theory was to Einstein. Not to compare myself to Einstein, exactly -- except to say that, in the great Venn diagram of Percolators vs. The Physics of Everything, there happened to be a great overlap labelled, "Stuff that's almost impossibly hard to comprehend; maybe fully impossible. We just don't know. Shrug." And, as is my distinctly non-Einsteinian way, I choose to avoid contemplating the mysteries that surround me, until/unless left with no other choice. (Yes, I'm a real hero.) Anywho, so this thing at work was the condition that created the forced confrontation I require for personal growth: I learned to use a percolator. As it happens, using a percolator is (a) not that hard, and (2.) produces a super-heated (that's how I like it), super-good cup of coffee. Imagine my surprise. And my delight, too, when this new-found ability coincided with the official demise of my automatic drip machine. So, with all the bravado that attends the newly-informed, I decided to replace my dead drip with this, a pleasantly red, real-life percolator. I am proud to tell you that I am now percolating daily. I feel all sorts of smug and superior to my non-percolating friends. My coffee is super-hot, super-good, and the machine is particularly pretty to look at when not in use, and to listen to when in it. Cleaning is a breeze (just wash the parts in soapy water after every use). And, because percolators prefer -- for those of you poor saps who don't possess the wildly specialized insights I've got going for me -- a coarser "grind" (as one says when one possesses said insights) than your average can of Folgers provides, I went out and bought a coffee bean grinder. Yes, I did, Reader. Now, I grind coarse beans and find but few crumbs at the bottom of my pot (solution: I make a little more coffee than needed, which keeps the grit mostly in the pot and out of my cup). So, now I'm fully one of "those" people (as one says when one currently lacks aforementioned insights), grinding my little bag of whole bean coffee with a big better-than-you grin on my face. The whole experience, in other words, has turned my regular morning coffee trudge into a mini-excursion to the world of the super rich and super satisfied. Regrets? Not really, no. My coffee kicks ass. I look forward to it every morning as I wake up and prepare to avoid confronting what mysteries of the universe are left to me. (Like homemade salsa. People do that? How?? Why???)

Title: Barely purple
Review: Purple is my favorite color and I needed a new coffee pot. This seemed to be the answer. It is hardly even purple it is so dark. At first glance I thought the whole thing was black. That was very disappointing for me. It does however, make a good cup of coffee and it's nice and hot.

Title: This percolator perks my coffee quickly and keeps it nice and hot.
Review: I just ordered another one. The previous one lasted three years. It perks quickly, keeps coffee very hot, and it's so much better tasting than any kind of drip machine. I use it every day, so I'm guessing three years of daily use is a pretty good deal.

Review: Attention !

Review: This is the second percolator we purchased (the first, different manufacturer, lasted less than a whopping 2 months). Never envisioned buying a purple one (it was on sale), but it's actually quite a dark colour and isn't gaudy at all ..... it actually blends and contrasts nicely with other black small appliances. We use it a lot from morning until night, so for much of the day it's either percing or heating. So far (3+ months), it's kept up with our demands (for a normal one pot-a-day person, I'd suggest that our use is equivalent to almost a years worth of use). After the experience with the first percolator, we did purchase the extended warranty just for piece of mind. Two things I will point out are to use cold water for the best overall flavour, and to make certain the basket tube is located in the hole in the bottom of the pot. Miss the hole, and you'll end up with coloured water (yuck!).

Customers like the coffee quality, color, and ease of cleaning of the product. They mention it makes pretty good coffee, is superb, and has an appealing copper finish. Some are also happy with the ease of use and brew speed. However, some customers disagree on functionality, coffee temperature, and quality.
