Title: I Love This Scanner
Review: Like many others, I have multiple boxes of old photos, and I've started on the project of converting them to digital images. I put a lot of time into researching photo scanners, and the ones I was interested in were pretty pricey. Timewise, this project is out of the question using the flatbed scanner available in my printer. After a lot of research, I decided on this Plustek scanner. I've had it for about 7 or 8 months now, and I love it. You can scan up to 50 photos at a time with no buttons or adjustments - just feed the photos in one at a time. At 300dpi, the process is fast. The images drop into Plustec's software, and you have the ability to do some editing and color adjustment. I've found that this software works well for me, is easy to use, and is all I need. I just want to get all these photos scanned in and organized and I'm not terribly interested in any serious editing at this point. I'm especially happy with the color enhancement that's available for those old color photos from decades past that are fading or turning yellow - it really gives those photos new life, just by clicking on a button or two. I have other photo editing software on my laptop, and I'll worry about serious editing later, if I even decide to go that far. After I've made any quick color adjustments, I just move the photos onto my hard drive, where I can organize them., and save them on an external hard drive. The Plustek scanner does a great job and has a very attractive price tag. The user manual is detailed and very helpful. I've heard good things about the customer service, but I haven't needed to use it. There's also a case available for it here on Amazon, and I keep it in the case on my desk to eliminate dust. The scanner doesn't take up much room on the desk, so I keep it there to work on my scanning project when I have a little extra time. I recommend this scanner for anybody who's looking to tackle a photo archiving project without breaking the bank.

Title: Quick and easy
Review: I bought this scanner so I could make old photos electronic and add to genealogy files. It does a fantastic job. It has a few settings that you can use on your pictures. Some were very small about 1x2 (school photo), the largest may have been a 9x12. I even scanned a few documents. It does not scan a stack of item, each one is hand fed one at a time. I am very pleased with the scanner and the files it creates.

Title: Great photo scanner!!
Review: This scanner has far exceeded my expectations and was worth every penny. I was faced with scanning my mom's photos (thousands - she was a keen amateur photographer) and lots of old family photos. This scanner is fast, handles all sizes of photos including old photos on a stiff backing which I would not have expected. So far I am just scanning so I can't speak to any editing software, but it has made a monumental task seem doable. I'll be digitizing my own family photos next.

Title: Fast and easy but no feeder tray
Review: Using with an old cheapo Windows 10 laptop. Easy to install, easy to use. Been busily scanning a lifetime of photos—some laminated, some old Polaroids, some strips from photo booths, some glued into card-weight frames, some trimmed to odd shapes from scrapbooks. This thing handled them ALL without a problem. Resulting images are sharp and true to the originals. After about 50 photos it blocks the next at the feeder, and tells you to save the current set to disk; browse to a folder and select it, and it quickly saves all the files. You have to feed each photo separately, face-down and head-first, but it’s really quick so not too bad. Just watch a movie while you scan 🙂

Title: Hundreds of photos in, works well and very quick on 300dpi, 600dpi about 10x slower.
Review: Background:I have an older 4x6 photo flatbed scanner. My mother asked if I could scan some old photos. I said sure. She then drops off a box about 11" by 18" with thousands of photographs. There was no way I was going to even think about using my legacy flatbed for this.Details on unit:The z300 comes packaged well with a single page set-up instructional page. Power supply and an optical disk with the software. You may get the latest version 6.6.0.3 (at time of writing) from the company's website. I installed the software with no issues, then connected and turned on the printer when prompted by the software. This including the removal of the tape and protective material over the scanner reader. The Scanner supports 300dpi and I believe 600dpi optically as well. The software ephoto that comes with the scanner is very easy to use and I was scanning within minutes. There are very few setting options which some may like, I am more of a knob tweaker and would have liked a little more control.I was impressed with the automatic photo restoration and overall ease of use of the software along with the preset options for photo adjustment, correction and restoration. There is better specialized software for this which I may use on a handful of photos but overall I am very happy and surprised with the scanning quality, usability and speed.Very Cool:Unlike my old flatbed scanner and the other software I was using, the Plustek and ePhoto software will automatically scan a picture when placed on the scanner. This feature makes scanning hundreds or many thousands much quicker.Only Complaint:My only complaint thus far is that I only seem to be able to scan up to 50 pictures in a run and am then forced to stop and save the workspace. There is an option in preferences under the question mark, not the gear for settings to scan and save directly to a path, however for me this did not remove the 50 images before saving issue.Overall I would buy again and definitely giving 5 stars. The screenshot of the two photos are the same photo from 1976 what the pic looks like now, and then what it looks like with autocorrect in ephoto.
