Title: important songs
Review: I've been playing piano since I was 6, I'm 24 now. I should probably already know all these songs which is why I purchased the book. if you're a beginner, this will give you a great place to learn from. if you're a teacher, it's got plastic binding so you can easily copy pages to give to your students. And if you're intermediate/advanced sight reader like me, you'll have a lot of fun catching up on songs you've heard a million times, with plenty of challenge, and fill in your gaps on knowledge.

Title: Now that's what I'm talking about...
Review: Okay so I said in a previous review that if I had to keep only one book to play from, it would be "The Piano Bench Of Classical Music" available here on Amazon. I am not disputing that it is indeed a great book to have in your collection because it really is, but over time I'm finding myself grabbing this particular book (Library Of Piano Classics) to play from because of the vast array of enjoyable songs. 350 pages, 90 intermediate/advanced songs, plastic coil binding, GREAT SELECTION OF SONGS OVERALL! I also have book 2 of this collection, it's good but I don't play from it as often as I do from this book. Some songs in this book worth mentioning:Fantasy in D Minor (Mozart)Nocturne Op. 72, No. 1 (Chopin)Valse Op. 64, No.2 (Chopin)Mazurka in A minor (Chopin)Valse Op. 69, No. 2 (Chopin)Liebestraum (Liszt)Nocturne (Field)Serenade (Schubert)Anitra's Dance (Grieg)Prelude (No. 1 from The Well-Tempered Clavier (Bach)Fantasie-Impromptue (Chopin) - Incredible song but too difficult for me!Hungarian Dance No. 5 (Brahms)Golliwog's Cake-walk (Debussy)Song of India (Rimsky-Korsakov)Prelude Op. 3, No. 2 (Rachmaninoff)(Rondo) Alla Turca (Mozart)Venetian Boat Song (Mendelssohn)Also contains some of the more overplayed classics like Fur Elise & Moonlight Sonata (Beethoven), Air (Bach), and Claire de Lune (Debussy). Still, a great collection overall. This is my new best book. Try it, you'll like it!

Title: Great for advanced intermediate piansists, old and new
Review: I took classical piano lesson from ages 8-18, so about 10 years. I'd say I reached advanced intermediate level, and gave a solo recital as a high school senior playing pieces like Chopin's Polonaise Militaire, which was my favorite. Then in college I had no time for piano, and pretty much stopped playing. That was 40 years ago.Fast forward to today. I'm way rusty, but I figured I'd try to get back on the horse, so to speak. Ordered this book based on the reviews, and it came today. I spent probably 2+ hours reconnecting with familiar friends like some Bach preludes and Chopin nocturnes, and found some new one's I'd like to learn. Although my fingers need some retraining, I was surprised how quickly it came back to me, and I'm very pleased with the level of the pieces in this collection. Most of them are just right for me. As others have said, this is not book for beginners. Intermediate or advanced intermediate, though there are a few simpler pieces sprinkled here and there. And the spiral binding is great.

Title: Must Have
Review: I have had this collection for many years, and purchased it several times for other young pianists. It really is an essential library. The spiral notebook makes it easy for the pages to lay flat. I also purchased the other volume in the white cover version.

Review: I am a piano teacher and gave this to one of my long time students as he started school. My only caution to others is that this is mostly advanced music so make sure you are up for the challenge!
