From the author of Earth! My First 4.54 Billion Years comes a new picture book about space―this time starring our Sun!

Meet Sun: He's a star! And not just any star―he's one in a billion. He lights up our solar system and makes life possible. With characteristic humor and charm, Stacy McAnulty channels the voice of Sun in this next celestial "autobiography." Rich with kid-friendly facts and beautifully illustrated, Sun! One in a Billion is an equally charming and irresistible companion to Earth! My First 4.54 Billion Years.

A Q&A with the Star* of our book, Sun *Get it? Star of our book?

Who is your favorite planet? And remember, this book will be read mostly by Earthlings.

Of course I don't have a favorite. Each is special--and kind of puny. That's like asking a human to pick a favorite fingernail.

You've been around for nearly 4.6 billion years, and are expected to shine at least 6 billion more. How do you stay so enthusiastic?

I like to keep moving. As you have read, I rotate. But also, about every 11 years, my poles change magnetic polarity. I also orbit the Milky Way--taking Earth and all my planets with me. That's a long trip--about 230 million years.

Do you have any advice for readers?

Yes. Never stare directly at me--even during a solar eclipse--because I can damage your eyes. You delicate earthlings can't handle my ultraviolet rays. Also, eat your vegetables. I helped grow them.

Title: Funny and informative non-fiction picture book
Review: My kids (5 and 9) and I love, love, love this series! Earth was fantastic and Sun did not disappoint. These stories are narrated by their main character. So, Sun writes about itself (and does a fantastic job, I might add). Readers learn about Sun's classification in the Milky Way, its nearest neighbor stars, how hot and how far away it is from things all within a first person narrative that grabs kids' attentions.Stevie Levis' artwork is bold and bright and inspired. Perfect for a story that takes place in outer space and on earth's surface (when discussing how Sun helps earthlings). This is one of those series that you'll want the entire collection. We can't wait for the upcoming titles.

Title: Great book!
Review: This is the second book in a series - the first is about the earth. They are endearing, fun to read to the kids (ages 2 and 6) and a nice way to introduce the solar system. The illustrations are well done. Lucky for me since I usually read it 4-5 times at a go - my 2 yr old is at the repeat the book ad nauseum stage. I highly recommend it!

Title: Bets book
Review: We love this book at our house. It’s one we don’t get sick of. I love how educational and fun it is. We originally bought the board book version of the earth book at costco for a friend. We loved the earth one so much we had to buy one for ourselves and get this sun one. One of the best children’s book we own.

Title: Nice & informative!
Review: These books were at the Souvenir shop in the Discovery Cube Science Museum. We wanted to buy the set, but would’ve been a bit expensive. So we bought one and ordered the other 2 on Amazon. My 7 year old enjoys these books and has learned a lot about our Moon, Sun and Earth.

Review: I absolutely love this book, the absolute best part is the incredible illustration. When I read it to my class they all felt inspired to become illustrators themselves!
