Title: Original “Out of the Box” version, though box says “Mattel 2007”
Review: The original Apples to Apples game was published by a family company called “Out of the Box”. In 2007 they sold the game to Mattel. I believe it is now published by Hasbro.(2015)We have played Apples to Apples for years as a family game. It is a favorite with our grandchildren, and my husband likes that it expands vocabulary.Purchased one from a local store that was published by Hasbro. I was not at all impressed by the new “updated” version and returned it the next day.It was too “politically correct”, the updates were aimed at being “funny” but I personally thought they were too “clever”, “smart mouthed” and not family friendly. Who cares to learn what the word for “wearing no underwear” is??Turned to Amazon to find an original “Out of the Box” published version.Found this one and ordered it. What came, was one that actually has the logo “Mattel” in lower left corner. I was initially disappointed as the photo description showed “Out of the Box” in the lower left corner. However, the publishing date was 2007 and that was year the company changed hands. There was hope! I contacted seller and asked if I looked at the cards (sealed) and they were the “updated” version, could I return it? They said I could, so I examined the cards and it was still the original version. I am thankful to have the version we are used to and appreciate the seller being flexible.

Title: Great condition, original Out of the Box edition!
Review: This came used, but in great condition. It also was the original Out of the Box edition, which I was super happy about! I wasn't sure, based on other reviews, whether it would be the edition that was pictured. But it was! Thank you so much to the seller who had the original Out of the Box edition! :)So take note: Whether or not you receive the Out of the Box edition really depends on the seller. 🙂

Title: Just buy this game
Review: So much fun! The more players the better. We bought the adult version and just remove the 'over their head' cards as we find them. You will laugh so much!!!

Title: Disappointed. Not the Out of the Box edition
Review: The edition I received was in a Mattel box dated 2017. Based on a previous review, I checked the box hoping to find the 2007 date. I can buy this version at the store for $10, but paid $26 for this one only because I believed it to be the Out of the Box edition as claimed in the product description and picture. I will be returning.
