Title: Great Suggestions
Review: Used this book for the first time last weekend. We visited a park with several options for trails that branched off from the standard, much more trafficked trail, but most visitors seemed stuck to the main trail and confused about how to veer from it. The whole experience was wonderful but I thought the AMC suggested routes made the experience much more enjoyable. We saw some wonderful corners of the park that seemed overlooked by others there. The book’s descriptions and directions were apt and accurate.

Title: Informative but too much tree description
Review: This like all AMC books is well organized and gives you important information like where to park. The problem I have with all of these books is the overly detailed description of all the plants and trees along the trail, I am 64 years old and have been hiking in the woods all my life but honestly barely know the difference between an oak and a maple, lol. It makes it difficult to read the facts about the trail while having to skip over all the names of the plants and trees.

Title: Explore Vermont
Review: Weather you are a Vermonter or Visitor, this book is packed with info on how to enjoy Vermont trails. This provides an opportunity for individuals and families to check out trails throughout the state. Great suggestions about how and when best to travel and hike. Only wish there were a few more added in the northern part of the state.

Review: Very good descriptions of hikes and every hike we did (which was maybe 6 or so) was great. There is a variety of shorter and longer hikes, which we thought was nice. We can certainly do longer hikes, but since we were visiting various places in VT, it was nice to do several shorter hikes a day as a kind of sampler. Overall, very nice hiking book that we really liked and we own a whole lot of hiking books.
