Amazon best-selling author Rob Cubbon will allay your fears and show you how to do it the right way.
Find out how build a branded, authority site with simple step-by-step instructions, illustrated with screenshots.
You can start off as a complete beginner and learn from an expert how to set up a website, how to blog, how to secure it, how to back it up, how to make money and how to develop an authority website and brand that looks good.
Here is a synopsis of the content of the book, chapter by chapter.
Purpose
Overcome Analysis Paralysis; Purpose & target market – avatars; Elevator pitch – who are you and who do you help?; Design worries; Competitors; Discussion of platforms – WordPress.org vs. WordPress.com
Every website should have one main purpose. And that purpose needs to be really simple.
Domain
Ideas; Keywords; Brand; Registration
The domain name is the something, in the www.something.com, of your website's address.
Hosting
Shared, VPS, Dedicated, Cloud; Name-servers; WordPress, (blog title, pretty permalinks, admin username)
Now that we,ve decided on a domain name, there's only one more thing to do before the excitement starts and we can create a website. And that's finding a web host.
Blog
Regularity; What to write about; Social / relationships / comments
Your website will live or die on content. So you may as well get started NOW!
Design
Themes (free vs. premium); Responsive; Threaded comments; Featured images; How to get a great logo and branding
Design consistency is important for your brand's recognition. But I just don't want you to stress or spend a lot of money on it. (I know, this sounds strange coming from a designer.)
WordPress
Essentials; XML Sitemap; Google Webmaster Tools; Google Analytics; SEO (titles); Contact Page; Ensuring zero spam; Subscribe to comments; Social bookmarking buttons; Cache & speed; Security; Backing up; Favicon
You have to implement or engage with most of those essential WordPress tasks. Of course, you could pay someone to do this for you, but I would challenge you to do it yourself. All the information is at your fingertips.
Connecting Social Media
Twitter; Facebook; Google Maps; YouTube
I have purposely made this section of the booklet short, as I think that a lot of time can be wasted on social media.
Relationships
Comment – gravatar; Social media; Email; Meetup; Conferences
This is one of the most important chapters in the whole book. The subject of this chapter is critical to your website's success. It's something that is all around you, it's something you interact with every day and yet you,d sometimes think it has nothing to do with your business. People!
Making Money
Community; Email list; Consultancy (hours for money); Affiliate; Ads; Info products; Membership; SaaS
Don't think it's all about money, because it isn't. Profit is a great metric to measure success, but it,s not why we do what we do. We do what we do to help people. If we,re not making any money, we,re not helping anyone, so here,s how you can make money with a business website.
You can do it!
I hope the readers of this little book will be inspired to create brands and businesses with WordPress sites, just as I have.

Title: Great book for getting started with WordPress!
Review: WordPress is by far, hands down the best platform for blogging, but it can be a bit intimidating when first starting out. This guide by Rob Cubbon makes WordPress easy, but it also provides a lot of great tips that are sound business advice that goes beyond just WordPress. For instance, I really like his tip to have one main purpose for your website. This isn't to say that you can't accomplish multiple things with your website, but rather that you should choose one primary thing to focus on if you want to achieve massive results. This is great advice because often people fail in business since they run so many different directions at the same time, and because of it, never really accomplish anything. The book also provides some great tips on topics such as choosing a domain name and web hosting. It's true that this is basic information, but it's info that people who are starting their first website may not know much about, and Rob explains it well in a way that is informative and easy to understand.I also like the use of images. They are used well, and add a lot to the book. This is definitely a great book for anyone wanting to get started with a website in general and WordPress in particular.

Title: Another excellent book by Rob Cubbon
Review: What I really like about Rob's books is they're simple and easy to understand. It's like Rob is standing there talking directly to you. This is his best written book yet. Yeah Rob!With all of that said, why should you read the book? The number one reason is: we all need a website. We need to get content out there about ourselves, our businesses, and what we like and dislike. The good thing is Rob takes a complicated thing like building a website, and breaks it down into simple steps. Next, he doesn't tell you it's my way or the highway. He says get started. If you're unhappy with something down the road, no problem. You can change it.First, things first. Create content. Then work on design, and all of the other pain in the ass details.Yeah! Some of it's boring, and technical, like installing plug-ins and selecting a web host, but you gotta do it. I also like his approach to social media. Bleh! It's a time suck. Do it if you want, but....Other chapters are on reaching out to others, and ideas about how to monetize your business. It's not comprehensive, but it's not meant to be. It's a starting point.Read the book. Get started with your website.

Title: This is good book, but the title might mislead you
Review: This is good book, but the title might mislead you. It has great information for the process of setting up a website, branding yourself online, and making money online, but the information on how to do it with WordPress is not very detailed. There are some good recommendations for products, services, themes and plugins and some good advice on becoming a home-based online entrepreneur. The book is well written and formatted, but the images are useless on my Kindle Paperwhite. While it may be lacking in detail, the book is a very good overview of running an online home business and is a great starter book. You will need more detail if you get serious. That said, I have been around internet marketing for several years and I still picked up a few ideas and recommendations. 5 stars for content but minus one star for the misleading title.

Title: My web consultant was hell shocked
Review: A five star review means that I love this product.Firstly, let me break a misconception - this book is not focused on wordpress as I originally thought. This book is focused on Creating a Quality, Workable meaningful Website. This book focuses onNeed to having a website- How the world's neo business models needs web presence- Why you shouldn't try to convince yourself out of it- How you can take a bold stepSelecting a URL- What should be considered- How URL has a presence of its own in the target group's mind- What URLs Google likesContent Creation- What is the easiest and quality step in content creation- How you can work on developing your skills (I used the method described on myself the past one year)- How to make sense.....I can keep going on and onHIGH QUALITY STUFFI can equate the material given here only to Robert Middleton's Web Site Tool Kit but only to tell that though it is much denser in material, it is 10x costlier than this bookWhat I like in this book- Not at all boring- Super smooth- Makes you itchy to start working immediately- You don't even need a paper and pencil to jot down things.- Content is pre-tested and pre-filtered.Why you should buy this book= Technical points are laid out bare to view= Step by step process is explained= I have already implemented with lots of smilesReadability 4.5/5Understandability 4.99/5Lay out, structure 4.5/5Value for money 8/5Usefulness 10/5I recommend highly

Title: Well written.
Review: I've had this book on my kindle for 4 years! LOL. I was having a clean up last night because the silly thing is full and I couldn't download a new fiction book and I stumbled across this book. I also broke my website two days ago so it seemed pertinent to have a quick read. I was interested to note that almost all the information in this book was still relevant today for setting up a website. To me, that means all the basics were well covered. If you've never set up a wordpress site from scratch this book would be a useful tool (I'm not sure if it's had an update or not since 2014). There's no filler here, just useful info.

Review: Everyone needs to have a website nowadays, but it can seem really complicated to set one up. Rob demystifies the whole process by showing that starting a site using WordPress can be straightforward and easy. From deciding on your site's goal and choosing your domain name/host to learning the WordPress essentials to connecting with other businesses (very important!) and monetizing your site, Rob spells out what to do in clear terms. You don't have to be an ace designer or a techie whiz-kid - you just need the willingness and self-discipline to write about what you know on a regular basis. His main message is to get going today. Everything you do can be improved upon later, and practice makes perfect. So if you've been putting off the decision to build your online presence, delay no longer - implement the teaching in this book and you'll be off to a flying start.

Review: I highly recommend this book, because if you start a website (or if you already have one and want to take it to the next level), you'll need to know, or improve, what you find in it. It's very practical guide which shows you all the aspects to run an online business having WordPress as your tool. It's very valuable to know how to have WordPress to work for you and not you losing time on WordPress. And in his book, Rob Cubbon shows you a lot of detailed steps for a good setup including but not only, design (theme, color, images, logo, ...), security, spam, SEO, connection to social media, email list, etc. Then beyond the site, he'll talk about business models, like affiliation, writing a Kindle book, create video courses etc.And the mindset, the philsosophy, on that topic I particularly like the 2 last words of the book (before the Thank You page and the list of his other resources), those words written in bold... they say it all!!! 🙂

Review: Well written WordPress overview for all entrepreneurs and business peopleThis book is just right for a beginner or intermediate at WordPress and it has a particular slant towards entrepreneurs and business people who want to start a website as a branded authority site that attracts customers, collects email addresses, sells products and makes money.I knew a bit about WordPress and Rob certainly tells you the right way to set your site up in the first place. He concentrates on content, security and usability before design and social media â but everything is gone into in a short and succinct manner. Itâs well illustrated with screenshots as well.It takes you from the beginning (registering a domain name and sorting out hosting) to the end (selling products and making money). All in all, an ambitious effort that pays off.

Review: This book explains WHY you should use WordPress to make your website. It contains some good advice and is written in a clear and friendly style. The author talks about a host of things you should consider before, during and after setting up the website. What it does not do, is tell you specifically HOW to use WordPress to create that website. It is worth buying, but don't expect a step-by-step WordPress manual. To be fair to the author, I don't believe that was his intention. The book is not called 'HOW TO Create the Website You Want With WordPress'.It is a good book, it contains some really useful advice. I have read some of Rob Cubbon's other publications and he comes across as a genuinely nice guy.

Review: What I thought was particularly useful about this book was that it took me right from the start of the journey. Rob is an outstanding internet marketer, and he makes sure that you're actually getting your target market and pitch right before you even start building the site. Far too many people - beginners and experts - get it into their heads that they must have a website NOW and just fail to engage an audience - any audience. Trust Rob, and he will take you through the whole process from concept to finished website smoothly and painlessly.
