Title: Performs perfectly at a great price.
Review: I've always been skeptical about special use products but this pan proved me wrong. It makes the most perfect poached eggs. I waited until I used it several times before evaluating it and not once have I been anything but pleased with the results. Just bring the water to a simmer and place the insert into the pan and place the eggs into the prepared egg pans, cover and keep the water from coming to a boil and wait the requisite number of minutes, depending on how you want the eggs cooked. Even the provided spatula helps the eggs to merely slide right out.

Title: High Quality
Review: I have searched for an egg poaching pan for years, one like my grandmother had. I thought this one was a bit pricey but now I know I purchased a high quality pan. The cups for the eggs are non-stick and has a nice glass lid.I have used it 3-4 times. I used a little butter in each cup in each cup, then dropped an egg in the cups. The eggs came out perfect, no sticking or torn! Pan is easy to clean!! Highly recommend, especially if you are tired of boiled or fried eggs.

Title: Yes, it works on induction stove.
Review: Just got it today and tested it out. For those wondering about it working on an induction stove, I first tested it with a magnet which didn't stick so I was doubtful that those that said it worked understood what an induction burner is. But yes, it did heat up very quickly on the induction burner. I'm not sure the science of wh this did heat up when I have other 18/10 stainless steel pans that did not work on it. I tried to google some explainations but didn't find a solid answer, but, one did talk about quality of 18/10 stainless steel and that the lower quality items will work more than high quality. This may be the case because contrary to what some people have posted, this is NOT a heavy bottomed pan. (My heavy bottomed 18/10 stainless steel pan did not work on the induction burner). So there you go, this egg poacher did work an induction burner.I love poached eggs. I've had a nice 4-cup pan for a long time but there's three of us which usually entails me making my 4 serving them to my wife and son then making my two eggs. It's nice to be able to cook six at one time.I have read some questions about if the cups have holes and if the water envelopes the egg as traditional poached eggs are made with dropping them directly in the boiling water. This is an egg poaching pan and the eggs are poached through steam. You put some water in the pan beneath the cups. It works perfectly. I have read some comments about eggs sticking to the cup. That was not the case with me. Eggs just slid right out. I use vegetable spray the way most people do it in real life - spray until you have a light coating covering the surface. (Not the 1/3 second fraction of a spritz the can says so they can keep the calorie count to zero or whatever)Yes it takes a little figuring out how to initially get the cups into those handle rings. You just got to push the rings toward the top of the cup. What I really like about this pan are the flat bottomed cups. My other pan hand round bottomed cups and I would have to gingerly get the hot cup out and try to hold it while I took a mini rubber spatul out to help release the egg and my fingers got hot quickly. This model has a small center knob which you can use to lift all the cups at once then put it on a flat surface, the cup holder goes down to the surface resulting in the cups essentially 'rising' up. A few seconds and the cup handles are cool enough to touch.I really like it but my only concern is how cheap the bottom of the pan feels which makes me wonder about its longevity. The bottom is not perceptibly thicker than the sides.Tips:Regarding people who commented on not having information about how long to cook eggs for. People like their eggs done differently and it depends on the level of heat you are using. I like my poached eggs with the white set and the yolk runny. If this is how you like your eggs, just keep an eye on your eggs once it starts turning white. When it looks all white, give the pan a little juggle. The outer part should be set but the white part in the middle should slightly jiggle like Jell-O then lift the cups together out of the pan.If you want to make large batches for eggs Benedict for a larger group, as soon as the eggs are how you want them, Put them in iced water right away to keep them from cooking any further. they will keep for a couple days in the water. You can poach your eggs in batches the night before. When you are ready to heat them, boil water in a pot, heat the eggs in boiling water for one minute, then use a slotted spoon to fish them out quickly placing the slotted spoon with the egg against a paper towel (keeping the egg in the spoon) so the paper towel (or regular clean towel) wicks the water from the egg. Then it's good to go. This reheating can be done in batches too but it's quicker to reheat them and get a large number done at about the same time than cooking them from the start in batches. If you like egg salad. Use the poacher to cook your eggs through. Poke the middle with a knif if you are not sure if the yolk has hardened. No need to deal with hard boiling an egg in the shell then having to fuss with pealing them.I also use it to hard boil and slice them for salads. Maybe not is pretty ass an oval looking sliced egg but still looks good and again, don't have to worry about peeling eggs.Hope this info is helpful to someone. I left off a star because the bottom of the pan is quite thin from what I expected.

Title: Very Nice Egg Poacher!
Review: I needed a new egg poacher because the Teflon coating on the our old poacher was starting to flake, and we had used it for many years. The old poacher had four egg cups, but this six-cup model appealed to me because our family of three usually likes two eggs each when we poach eggs. One nice detail of this egg poacher is the water-fill line. Our old poacher didn't have that, so I would have to guess/estimate how much water to add. The construction of this poacher is very solid, and I love the style of the cups. Since the cup rims are made of stainless steel, they can get hot and retain heat, but that is a minor issue. I use a silicone mitt to remove the egg cups, so no biggie. Eggs cook very evenly in this poacher, but it does take an extra minute or two to cook them since this poacher is larger than the one it replaced, but that is to be expected. This was a very good buy, and my family and I are pleased with this product.

Review: Actually had purchased a product which was virtually identical until I realized the handle was riveted. The ExcelSteel is a superior product, not just because it has a riveted handle, but even the finish and polish of the pan itself were superior. Other than that, the other product in question was nearly identical. My daughter LOVES poached eggs, as do I. We use our 4 egg poacher minimum 4 times per week. However, found it too small... 4 cups simply isn't enough if you like to have two eggs each and you have more than two people.Overall fit and finish of the ExcelSteel is nice. Better than my 4 egg poacher and certainly superior to the other knock off brand.Hope this helps.
