Is it worth doing a podcast if nobody listens? It's not.
You started your podcast because you want to spread an important message, share your passion, and make money.
But your podcast hasn’t quite taken off like you thought it would.
What happened?
This book is for podcasters who can’t quite figure out what they’re doing wrong (and are ready to do things right).
You’ll learn:
Why your “natural personality” may be repelling people and how to make it attract listeners to your podcast like a magnetWhat to do when a company tries to “lowball” you on advertising fees (Do nothing, except send them the email in the sponsorship chapter.)It’s easy to screw up an interview. To be sure you don’t run into any problems, use my “guest contract”.A six-word “trick” (learned from a 20-year radio veteran) that will instantly make you a better hostNine reasons to kill an interview before it happens – ignore these “red flags” and you’ll be sorry. What Victoria’s Secret models know about podcasting (even though you never hear them talk)Nervous on the mic? You have lots of company – 75 percent of podcasters to be exact. I give you a 5-step way to cure your “stage fright”.If you’re scared of getting bad reviews, don’t worry – I have three simple ways to handle critics (two of which can turn critics into fans). Why copying top podcasters may be killing your podcast and how to develop a podcasting style that works for you (and will attract more listeners)My three-step “episode teaser” formula – it’s boring, but it works.Thinking of doing a “daily” podcast? You must listen to my advice on this first.Want to impress a guest? You'll learn my three-step follow up “ritual” that will make being on your podcast unforgettable (and encourage guests to promote your episodes)And that’s just the start....
You'll also get a free downloadable "Big Podcast Toolkit" with podcast episode templates, social media cheat sheet, a guest contract, and more to help you grow your podcast!

Title: Book that helped me plan and improve my video podcast
Review: I think this is the best book I have ever read about podcasting. I follow David's Apple podcast channel for a while and honestly I was thinking that the book will be just a reiteration of his audio content. Still decided to order and I am so glad I did. The book is full of specific recommendations, check lists and instructions. it will help you to refine what exactly you want to do and will show you how . If you are interested in creating a podcast for your business or you have a hobby or expertise you love to rave about and looking for your audience, this book is should be considered as a necessary and essential tool.

Title: How to have a truly great podcast and avoid the mistakes that kill your chances of doing so
Review: I have read several books on podcasting, but this one really outlines a strategic plan, not just tactics. The information on how to interview guests like a total pro, how to create a show that stands out by now doing what everyone else does to what your audience really wants from you that you'd never think of on your own. What I liked best was that it wasn't generic, regurgitated advice that could have been written by anyone. The author's personality really comes through every page, which is exactly what he advises the reader to do to have a truly memorable, BIG podcast. I took a ton of notes and now I really feel ready to launch a show that matters.

Title: 462-Pages with No Index?
Review: The ultimate value of a non-fiction book is greatly enhanced by having an index so the reader may locate specific areas of interest. Iâm all about positivity - so much so that I rarely write reviews of less than 4 or 5 stars, however, this book bugged me from the moment the package was opened. I immediately flipped to the index to find one of the top topics I purchased the book to learn more about, but there isnât one. This is a 462-page book on podcasting, which is not a small or narrow subject. It is not a novel, fiction, or a mystery intended to be read cover-to-cover. So, of course, I went through the TOC, and thereâs no obvious chapter heading that would include my queries and topics of interest. Nor do I see my third BIG topic I thought this book called BIG Podcast would include. The book is simply a heavy outline of the authorâs thoughts and opinions between paperback covers. It feels like you're reading his notebook. My suggestion is simple - if you donât see your topic listed when you âLook Insideâ the book on Amazon, it likely isnât included, or your book will be worn from flipping if/when you do come upon it.

Title: What a comprehensive resource!
Review: We're in the new audio age and if you're starting a podcast or looking to grow your show give this book a readâor give the audiobook a listen! In "Big Podcast", David lays out his decades of audio experience and helps us through everything from picking your hosting format and what to cover in "The First 60 Seconds" of each episode [p.107], to being "The Best Kind of Podcast Host" [p.194] (spoiler: you can safely assume the rapport is already there!), to identifying and attracting and interviewing the guests you want and even dealing with (ugh!) their "handlers" [p.279] or "Bad Guests!" [p.313].Once we have the best possible product in the bin, the author helps us promote our work, cultivate our audience and start to tackle the seemingly ever-elusive "podcast monetization".In the intro, the author warns that "This book is for pros. This means your podcast is either already up and running, or you're in the process of making that happen." That said, this book does not dive into the wide and ever-shifting world of startup tech, DAWs, and equipment. My only criticisms of this book are the daunting length, 462 pages, and that the post-production release/growth/cultivation/promotion is saved for the final 1/4 of the book. I think it could be easily split in 2 volumes and the second volume expanded for those of us who are already to that stage and really needing help with sustaining our show. Also, the front half of this book is not as helpful for someone creating audio fiction or radio plays, which I love.Overall, though, Mr. Hooper has the know-how and skills and I'm so grateful he's sharing his experience with us in "Big Podcast".

Review: I've been reading quite a lot about podcasting and this is my favourite so far.It capitalises the author experience in marketing and talk about the important things (content, relationships with your audience, structure) instead of mics and gadgets. It even gets deep (maybe a bit too deep) into the economics of it.Congratulations and thank for your work

Review: This is the best book that Iâve come across on the âhow toâ aspect of podcasting. It outlines an intelligently organised step by step process for building your podcast from the ground up. Starting with identifying the podcastâs purpose, who itâs for, avoiding the wrong name, how to monitize it etc. I particularly liked the sections on structuring your content. Overall itâs a crisp and clear manual that any podcaster would benefit from buying. This guy has a marketerâs clarity of purpose on where to focus your efforts and itâs not often you can get access to that for just a few $. In short I liked it.
