Does popcorn have an expiration date?
No, popcorn does not have an expiration date. As long as it stays in an airtight container, it will retain it's moisture and stay fresh.
Why is the Real Theater Oil a solid instead of a liquid?
The Real Theater Oil is coconut oil. A characteristic of coconut oil is that it changes it's consistency based on the temperatures it is in. If it's cold, it will be more of a solid, if it is warm, it will be more of a liquid.
Where is the best place to store my popping kernels prior to use?

Title: A Timeless Classic - Perfect for Any Home!
Review: I bought the Original Whirley Pop Popcorn Maker as a gift for my son as he is moving into his first house. I have had a Whirley Pop for over twenty-five years, and I can confidently say it's one of the best purchases I've ever made. With good quality popcorn, people will think you are a professional popcorn maker using this popper. The process is simple, and the results are consistently delicious. My Whirley Pop is definitely broken in and seasoned, which only makes the popcorn taste even better. The construction is sturdy, and it's clear that this popper is built to last. It's a fun and nostalgic way to make popcorn, and it always impresses guests.I highly recommend the Whirley Pop for anyone who loves popcorn. It's a timeless classic that delivers fantastic results every time.

Title: Truly amazing popcorn
Review: Let me tell you, I'm ALWAYS craving Movie theatre popcorn. The "movie theatre style" popcorn that you throw in the microwave just doesn't compare. After a lot of research on homemade popcorn communities, the name whirleypop kept coming up.The Whirley pop itself is great. I just throw it on my stovetop, put kernels, butter flavored coconut oil, and flavacol in and just crank the handle. The popcorn always comes out amazing. I've found that using medium to high heat is the sweet spot. The silicone gears are great and don't give you any trouble when turning the handle. When it starts skipping, that's when you know the popcorn is ready to take off the heat. Cleanup is super easy as well, you just wipe it out with a paper towel. You can wash it with dish soap after a few uses if needed.

Title: Finally Found the Right Popcorn Popper for Me
Review: I love fresh, home cooked popcorn, but until I bought this unit, I have hated popcorn makers. I tried several air poppers but exploding kernels would knock unpopped kernels out of the machine and many kernels would remain unpopped. This popcorn maker leaves very few kernels unpopped and it is simple to use. It is also very quick. I put a coating of extra virgin olive oil in the pan, install the cover, turn my electric stove up to about 4 and a half (almost mid-way). In a couple minutes the kernels start to pop and I crank the top. Soon the kernels start popping like crazy! When there is so much popcorn I can't turn the crank any more I turn off the burner and open the lid to vent the steam. The popped corn is fluffy and tasty. The pan is thin and light but it conducts and dissipates heat quickly, so I think that is just part of the design rather than trying to make the product cheap.I highly recommend this popcorn popper.

Title: Great popcorn maker.
Review: I recently bought this popcorn maker and tried it for the first time. I used the enclosed package of popcorn with the butter, and the popcorn turned out perfectly. I found it to taste much better than the microwave popcorn I usually use. Of course, with this one you need to clean it when you're done, but it cleans easily. I would buy it again.

Title: works well and copper finish looks nice
Review: not sure if the copper helps retain or distribute the heat better than the standard model because I think it is just a thin outside finish but it pops very quickly and works well

Title: What a new owner needs to know
Review: I bought a lot of Skinny Pop in the early part of the pandemic, and it made me think. Instead of paying $4-$6 per bag, shouldn't I pop my own popcorn, with a jug of Orville Redenbacher's corn kernels at $9.69 per 72 oz. jug (equivalent to ~38 rounded 1/4 cups, or big bowls of popcorn)? I found my old StirCrazy electric popcorn popper, but decided its nonstick coating was deteriorating. When this super hefty stainless stovetop popper became available again, I jumped on it!Things the manual doesn't tell you:1. Eventually I recalled that it is customary to put just one or two kernels in a stovetop pan with the oil and wait until those have popped before adding the rest of the popcorn. My rounded 1/4 cup of kernels then popped within 1.5 minutes. Even I have the strength to keep the paddle moving for that amount of time.2. You probably don't need as much heat to pop popcorn as you think. That's important because if you use olive oil as I do, olive oil does not have a very high smoke point.3. The manual advised that you just wipe out the pot instead of washing it after each use. That works... for a while. I noticed that the interior bottom of the pot developed buildup of oil over time. After about 3 weeks of use and wiping out, that buildup became too thick, and my popcorn burned. That oil residue buildup was a pain to clean. a. I tried white vinegar and Dawn and water and a long soak; no perceptible improvement. b. Then I decided to attack the problem by using white vinegar and Dawn and water turned up to a boil on the stovetop, and simmered for an hour; that helped a little. c. I then tried baking soda and Dawn and water, brought to a boil, with a simmer; that made some inroads, but there was still a lot of residue left. d. Then I coated the interior bottom of the pan with ketchup, and heated that to boiling, and then let it sit; finally I saw a lot of silvery stainless steel! e. I had no lemon, so I didn't try boiling lemon halves in water for the next attack. There's a pandemic out there, you know.f. For the win, I sprinkled BarKeeper's Friend powder on the interior bottom of the pan and squeezed Dawn on top of that. I used a spoon to make a paste, and let that sit overnight. Then I added some water, and used an old stainless steel scrubber to work on the remaining residue; at last I had my pot back, sparkling like new! After that ordeal, I decided I might settle for a wipe after cooking for a few days, but then it would be time to deep clean the pot.YES, this is a great pot. Stainless steel makes it easier to clean. I may be a mechanical dud, but even I figured out how to disassemble and reassemble the cranking mechanism with the instructions provided. And if anyone wants to give me the perfect birthday gift, please send some gourmet red popcorn kernels my way!

Title: Pops every kernel for quality corn
Review: If you follow the instructions correctly, including the surprisingly little oil involved, and use good quality popcorn (despite the silliness of the concept, Orville Redenbacher popcorn uses a variety that has extra moisture and really does work best) you are pretty much guaranteed a perfect pop every time, and for a tenth the cost of prepackaged popcorn.Better and cheaper, a great combination.

Review: We purchased this particular Whirly Pop Popcorn Maker to use on our new induction stove top. Being stainless steel it is heavier than our old aluminum Whirly PPM but this is not a problem. It is well built and makes wonderful popcorn in minutes. Cleanup is quick and painless. You won't be disappointed.

Very happy with this and highly recommended, we have the induction model as true to the instructions popcorn done in 3-4 minutes. You just wipe out after and itâs ready for the next use.
