Title: You need this travel router.
Review: I've been using the v1 and v2 versions of the Mudi since 2022 or so.This is the best travel router on the market. The Netgear Nighthawk, while being much more powerful, can't hold a candle to it.It's form factor makes it perfect for stashing in your bag or luggage. It can repeat just about any Wi-Fi signal with minimal additional latency, and the cellular hotspot feature works extraordinarily well (and indispensable at conferences where it seems that no matter how large the conference center you're working at is, the Wi-Fi is always just slightly slower than an escargatoire of snails trying very hard to cross a busy road). Finally, it's battery life is fantastic. It lasts the eight hours it says it does. The Mudi is your new travel companion. Get it!

Title: Excellent modem, great features, easy to use, IMEI repair, easy edit TTL
Review: Modem expert here.Your search is over, this is the 4G LTE modem you need. With a really easy to use interface, long battery run time and the ability to repair the IMEI assigned to the modem from the factory (google it) this modem offers everything you could ever ask for and even some things you didn't know you might need, like the ability to have output via ethernet and easy VPNs.Don't worry it's not 5G, most people do not need it anyway and keep in mind that 4G is better in some cases for penetrating walls and distance.I could in theory replace my whole home internet with this little guy, Bands b5, b12 and b71 (low freq gets through walls better) are really good in my area... I usually get 10-20 up and about 50 down and that's on a 15 a month Metro by T Mobile sim (so far, its been truly unlimited data).... you have to have a phone account as well to get that rate. Don't forget to "repair" the IMEI and set the TTL to 65 for unlimited.

Title: Interesting product, but didn’t work for my needs
Review: This is a very nice travel LTE router with a great settings portal. I was able to get both openvpn and wireguard working with very little effort. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to get reliable service with my provider, Visible. It’s somewhat expected, but I hoped I could work around some of their controls to get an inexpensive high speed hotspot data plan. I’m stuck with a dedicated Verizon plan at twice the monthly price and I’m limited to using Verizon certified hardware. This is definitely a great LTE router if your data plan provider supports the hardware. It’s certainly fast when the plan works.

Title: Great product for simple or very advanced use cases
Review: First, this product is great. That said, if you are not comfortable learning new things it might be a bit harder to use. It covers dozens of options from just LTE / Wired internet access point, being a bridge to hotel and plane networks, to LTE backup for home networks. If you think it isnt working for your use case, you are probably doing it wrong. The ability to add extra plugins from openwrt is awesome and the 7k battery storage is nice. This replaced an LTE modem _and_ my hootoo travel hub at the same time.Normal use cases:cell signal for internet in GL -> all your devices (set in router mode). Works great for both wifi connections and wired ones.hotel or airplane internet -> GL -> all your devices (set in repeater mode). You connect GL to plane or hotel, you connect all your devices to GL.Advanced cases:cell signal for internet in GL as fall back to normal internet (Cable, fiber, etc) -> home router. Works out the box with unifiwired internet into GL as Access point -> wifi for all your devicesrv with skylink + GL -> wifi to all devices on the move. (failover or loadbalancing)

Title: Works, but is extremely slow. Faster to just tether to a phone.
Review: Popped in a T-Mobile SIM card, and with literally line of sight to a T-Mobile tower less than 50ft away, got max speeds of around 10mbit. Popped the SIM card back into my tablet and got 200mbit on LTE.Didn't bother trying WireGuard or OpenVPN because those will be even slower when turned on and speeds will be highly be dependant on your particular VPN server and VPN service you choose. The display is very dark and you will struggle to read the display when outdoors. Indoors, the brightness is just adequate.

Title: LTE's GSM modem frequently disappears from Admin Panel's INTERNET dashboard
Review: Gl-Inet GL-E750V2 MudiWhen using this LTE gateway hotspot without WAN cable nor Repeater mode, LTE's GSM modem frequently disappears from Admin Panel's INTERNET dashboard. This MUDI is often used when Public WIFI is unstable, so connecting via unstable Repeater mode still causes GSM modem's disappearance. Most of the time, a full MUDI reboot is required to fix this problem. Occasionally, issuing "service modem restart" fixes the issue.Last night's test had LTE as primary and WAN as secondary for hours (4+GB webstreaming/download). As soon as WAN ethernet cable was unplugged, the MUDI's GSM modem crashed. The GSM modem was only restored after plugging in WAN again. Repeater mode was later enabled, then WAN ethernet cable removal was not an issue. Running 'dmesg | grep "GSM modem"` displayed the GSM modem restart due to the initial WAN cable unplugging.NOTE that my GL-X3000 Spitx AX does not experience this issue..

Title: It’s ok
Review: It doesn’t connect via Wi-Fi or to the hotel I’m at…. Which was why I needed it. Also, it bricks when trying to configure it via through the ui panel, when I can connect to the ui panel that is. I’ll probably return.Otherwise it’s small, comes with a mesh bag for the cords, and super convenient.

Review: I LOVE THIS PRODUCT!... I know, I know, that might seem like a plot twist, given the headline. But stick with me for a second. I’ve been the proud (and occasionally frustrated) owner of this portable router since February 2024, and while it’s a sleek little piece of hardware when it works, there are a few too many "buts" that have me questioning my purchase.Let’s break it down:1. IT OVERHEATS. And when I say overheats, I mean like a Hollywood action hero running through a fireball, except less cool and more inconvenient. If you live or travel anywhere warm, prepare to watch your router go from hero to zero in record time. August 16th will go down in history as the day my Mudi v2’s battery decided it was done. It no longer functions on the go, though it still works when connected to a power outlet. So much for portable.2. Incapable hardware. Yeah, I said it. My dream was to pop in a 1TB MicroSD card and have my own little media hub, sharing files and movies across all my devices. But alas, this dream was crushed. Whether the feature was quietly axed or never really there, it turns out the hardware just isn’t up to the task. Sure, OpenWRT could bring it back from the dead, but that’s like adding jet fuel to a paper airplane. Expect more overheating. Yay.3. Battery life that’ll leave you thirsty. Speaking of power, this thing drains faster than a man lost in the Sahara with a single bottle of water. Even in standby mode, the battery’s doing everything but saving itself. You’ll be charging this little guy more often than you’d like to admit.4. 4G (but maybe 5G if you’re willing to sell a kidney). Yes, the WiFi antenna is replaceable and upgradable to 5G, but here’s the kicker—it’ll cost you almost as much as a new Mudi V2. Ouch. So, what’s my advice? Hold off for something better. Grab yourself a simple, cheap 4G travel router that doesn’t promise the moon and leave you with a handful of moon rocks. Or, if you’re still into GL-iNet, consider one of their other routers that doesn’t have a battery. At least those know what they’re doing.

Review: Great, carefully thought of product. Only working LTE router with OpenVPN and Wireguard functionality. Even has a SD card so that I can put a 1TB Micro SD and make it a NAS on the go. I travel a lot and I need VPN to my office when I do. This is a excellent choice for me. I cannot wait until a compact travel 5G router to be available. Hopefully they will make one soon.
