Title: Nano Signal
Review: I travel for work. So I am in hotels often.I LOVE the ability to plug a gadget in, and point it to the access point, and have all my devices automatically connect up. This was necessary to satisfy the problem of Google chromecast, where it requires a phone to operate, and they must be on the same wifi network. (Most hotels isolate devices to keep guests secure from each other)I bought the small nano first. And I later purchased the larger version (TL-WR902AC). So I will provide the pros and cons of each here. Please also note that I am EXCLUSIVELY using this in hotels in wi-fi only (never plugged in the RJ-45 ethernet) as a wi-fi access point for all my tech, I've not used it for anything else. There are many other features and capabilities that are not accounted for here.Nano: + simple setup, great wizard. + SOOOOO tiny + Works great with Marriott/SPG hotels (and everywhere else I've tried it) - Struggles with multiple devices, the single band antenna seems to be a big restriction in speed and multiple devices. - Slow speedsBig brother (AC902 model) + Much cleaner and more stable connections - handles all my devices brilliantly. + Far more features (that I don't use) + Larger than the nano (picture for reference) but still so small that it's perfect for travel - Setup is not so streamlined. Additional hardware toggle on the device makes it more confusing. (I use the middle setting, "Share Hotspot")Side-notes: I used this exclusively at a single hotel before upgrading, so the differences noticed between the two models were all at the same property. Both devices get a bit warm, but nothing concerning, and it's not at all surprising given how tightly they are packing them. Both are small enough that the only reason I would recommend the nano over the big brother is if you need something to fit in your pocket, or purse, and don't have high expectations in terms of speed.

Title: Great little router
Review: Got this router for traveling so that all my devices can be on the same private network. This allows things such as AirPlay mirroring to my travel Roku from my iPhone and also allows me to have all my travel electronics (roku, echo, etc) pre configured to my private network. When I get to the location, I set up the travel router to connect to whatever wireless network is available then I turn on all my devices and they work with no additional setup. For anyone who has struggled to get a Roku working on public wifi with a confirmation/setup page, you know what a pain that can be (if you can get it to work at all, some networks I never could). This device has a very small form factor which I like, fits easily in my computer bag. Access is straightforward, connect a device to the wifi network of the device and use a browser to log in and change the settings. I did all the initial setup with my home wifi such as creating the SSID, setting up the security protocols and so forth. When I got to my first hotel to see how it worked all I needed to do was to scan for wifi networks and then choose the one I wanted the router to use. This particular one had a webpage to enter a code, once I had selected the network and saved the configuration I tried to go to a website on my phone (connected to the router's private network now). The configuration page for the hotel wifi came right up and I was able to enter the code once for the entire stay (Hilton hotel, hhonors was the wifi network I connected to). All my devices connected immediately to the router's wifi and worked great. For the price, I'm very happy with my purchase. Hassling with connecting each type of device to a hotel wifi is a huge pain and often fails (such as with my Roku and also my Echo) so this solution is simple and elegant and also provides additional security and features for use. I haven't tried any of the advanced features of the router yet, but they're all there (such as port forwarding, VPN, spoofing mac addresses, etc). My needs are fairly simple and this router checks all the boxes for me. Highly recommended.

Review: Background:I needed a Wi-Fi based NAS and had bought the TL-WR902AC V1 version a few years back, which I ended up bricking while trying out OpenWRT. Eventually bought 'RavPower FileHub' which worked well for over 3 years and would give a rate of about 2MB/s. Needed a replacement and filehub's are not sold anymore. The TL-WR902AC is the only decent mini Wi-Fi NAS in India as of now. The 'GL.iNet' routers are overpriced here for some reason. Also, the V3 version presently being sold solves most of the problems which plagued it previously.Do update the firmware as the functionality is much improved after update with SMBv2 support. The V3 version I received is US version, and not the 'EU version' as mentioned on the TP-Link India website, check before updating firmware. The firmware update supported smbv2 and supports even the native iOS Files app. In iOS -> connect to server -> 'smb://192.168.0.1' -> guest as the user and viola, the files app will recognise SMB drive. It's even easier in Windows and Android. As a NAS Drive, I get up to 6.3 MB/s sustained read write speeds over wifi5 when connected to an SSD.Cons--The WR902AC only recognises fat32 and NTFS, exFAT is not supported. (Tip: SSD with exFAT does not support TRIM, stick with NTFS)-No Battery, needs external micro-USB supply (no usb-c).-Single USB2.0 portOverall, happy with the performance. Especially recommended for iPad users which forces lots of compatibility restrictions. It is a good enough for streaming and media consumption. Was able to play 4k files easily. Have not used it with a 3G/4G dongle or used it to convert wired signal to wifi, so cant say anything about these use case scenario.
