How does the Scrubba wash bag work?
The Scrubba wash bag works on the same principle as an old-fashion washboard. Clothing is cleaned by rubbing them against the washboard. As opposed to an old-fashion washboard, the Scrubba wash bag is lightweight, compact and self-contained.
How much clothing can be washed at once?
Generally, the Scrubba wash bag is effective at cleaning a 2 T-shirts, a couple of pairs of underwear and 2 of pairs of socks at once.
What cleaning product should be used with the Scrubba wash bag?
A variety of detergents have been tested in the Scrubba wash bag with success. We've found the use of liquid detergents to be more efficient due to the extra time it takes to dissolve solid detergents (powders, leaves, etc.).
Can the Scrubba wash bag be used on all clothing?
The Scrubba wash bag can be used on most forms of clothing. Material such as denim can be washed too, however it may be necessary to open the bag and rotate the jeans while washing. are needs to be taken for clothing with zips or buckles.
How long does the Scrubba wash bag take to clean a load of clothing?
or most clothing, simply rubbing them against the washboard from outside the bag for 20-40 seconds is sufficient to remove oils, dirt and odour from the clothing. For a machine quality wash, rub the clothes for 3 minutes.

Title: Works as intended for a portable washing solution
Review: I am going to Italy this weekend, and I am packing light.I wanted the ability to clean socks, shirts and underwear. I took an Oxford shirt, a pair of socks and a long sleeve shirt out to try this out.I put in Woolite, water and the clothes. I rolled the top, and secured the strap. I proceeded to remove air from the bag. Then I rubbed the clothes in a decompressed state for about 3 minutes.Afterwards, I drained the water and added fresh water in to rinse.I did have to rinse more after removal but it is a viable way to clean clothes. The bag is a waterproof nylon bag. It has silicone knobs to scrub or agitate the clothes. It works for travel or camping I suppose.Itâs pricy but convenient.Update: After spending two weeks in Italy, I wanted to let you know that this worked great. Since I traveled light, it worked great for microfiber clothing, underwear and socks. The bag has held up after daily use. Rinsing the clothes was better served by doing it by hand but the cleaning part was perfect.I do not regret buying this.

Title: Worked well for cruise
Review: Brought for cruise. It fits 2-3 T shirts, underwear and socks. Easy to seal the top with claps and easy to roll around for washing. I used detergent sheet which melts really fast. Material is light weighted and fits well in suitcase. It solved our laundry issues during the cruise, loved it!

Title: Essential kit for camper van
Review: Have been using a Scrubba for about 3 years, almost exclusively for our camper van. We go on multi week trips (no #vanlife) and ride, hike and ruck daily. The scrubba has a bit of a learning curve, but once you figure out the sweet spot for your situation, it works well. Took 1/2 star off due to the material -- ours doesn't leak, but we have to treat it gingerly. Our approach: Fill to the line with clothes (don't overfill). We use a squirt of Bronner's Castile Liquid Soap (Almond when able, my favorite). I fold the seal down but don't take the air out, and shake the Scrubba to get some suds going. Open the valve, bleed the air, scrub for two minutes. Dump into a collapsible pan (or your gray water tank), repeat the process with fresh water. That's it. then we dry it by rolling inside a microfiber towel. If we're good we can do an entire day's worth of bike gear in 20 minutes. If we have direct sunlight, clothes will dry -- and smell great -- in ten minutes. The Castile soap does not irritate nor leave annoying residue. What I don't like: I'm constantly worrying that the material will puncture or tear. You need to find somewhere clean and flat to scrub. In a true outdoors scenario, that is not always possible. Although it uses surprisingly little water âprobably less than any other optionâyou still need to find a way to find, and dispose of, wash water. What I like: When you get the process right (agitating for suds was key for us), washing is quick and effective. When you're done, it air dries quickly, doesn't smell, and packs amazingly small. Required equipment for long trips. What I'd change: The little valve is effective, but tiny and fragile. I'd like to see something more robust for true outdoor use.

Title: Super helpful on my last trip
Review: My aim is to pack as light as possible and i don't mind doing a little wash on a trip (typically in the hotel sink). The Scrubba however has made this all super easy and without issue.Spent 9 days in Europe and it was a perfect test trip for this wash bag. You can clean most things with it, though don't try to wash a whole weeks worth a clothes at once. Two pairs of socks, two boxer briefs, and a t-shirt fill the bag. I used some Tide travel sink pack sized detergent and followed the instructions. The clothes came out clean. If you have some pants, do those separately. None of my clothes were super dirty to begin with, if you have stuff caked with mud, well this may not work for you or you may need to rinse them first. To dry the clothes, I squeezed out the excess water and then rolled the items in a spare towel. I strung up the Sea to Summit Lite Line Camping and Travel Clothesline in the shower and things were dry by morning. The Scrubba folds up pretty small. I was able to pack it, the clothesline, and the Tide packets flat in a 1 gallon zip top bag. Easily fit into my carry on. Will definitely bring the Scrubba with me for longer trips.

Title: Great travel wash bag
Review: Worked great. Takes a little practice to seal with enough folds to seal. But it does a great job and pack small.

Title: Eh
Review: Seemed to work well for washing, but not for rinsing and wringing out, the clothing came out sopping wet. I purchase for hotel travel and found it was easier to wash and rinse in the sink, hand wring, and hang on hangers to dry. I gently rolled the wet items in hotel towels to remove more water. Perhaps this may be better for camping. Not a good product for me.

Title: Easy to use, durable, packable, works very well!
Review: I have everything good to say about the Scrubba wash bag. Its instructions are clear, simple, and easy to understand, especially since there's pictorial notation on the bag itself to remind you of the steps and proper use. Its construction is quality and sturdy and worked extremely well on a variety of different items.Pictured are the three pairs of socks, two undershirts, and a light T-shirt that I washed in two loads. Not pictured: the shorts I was also able to wash in one of those two loads! There's several techniques that you can use for washing with the Scrubba in addition to just massaging the clothes against the integrated wash board: sloshing, biscuit making, bread kneading, and of course just soaking too.If you're traveling somewhere for any time which has little or no machine wash facilities, or such option only at cost, I definitely recommend acquiring a Scrubba wash bag for the trip! It may seem a little pricey but it's proven to be an excellent value.

Review: So yes, you can wash some clothes in it when you are away from civilization but it's a not as romantic as expected.1. It takes a lot of water: you need around 5-7 liters to wash 2 socks, 2x underwear and 1 t-shirt. Then you need to rinse it off also which costs you another 3-5 liters. If you want to wash more, you add around 10 liters of water.2. It's still pretty small so won't really fit many clothes. In summer time when you are barely wearing anything and it's synthetic it's fine, but don't expect anything else to wash in it.3. Of course you wash by hand so it take some effort to do it.Surprisingly though the clothes turned out fine after washing them. And I only washed them by hand a couple minutes. So yes in a pinch, a hotel in a foreign country, or for simple washes in van life the product works fine, but if you have any other larger quantities of clothes to wash or in winter time this is not suitable.

Review: I really considered this purchase as the price is steep. Washes brilliantly and will definitely be a pet of my travel kit going forward. The claim of machine wash quality is true. Used with detergent sheets and liquid so easy to use washing dries so much faster when washed in this as opposed to regular handwashing.

Review: Great product that i will be using frequently on my next backpack trip in South East Asia. I wish I had discovered this product years ago when I was away in far away land with limited washing possibilities.Very small in size and excellent for packing.Just read the instructions before using it! You must empty the air inside before scrubbing.
