Review: This potato masher is very well built to stand up to heavy use, yet is liight enough for ease of use. The holes are a little big, but that just means you have to mash a few more times. The tapered handle helps with downward pressure, but it could be rougher to improve grip. Perhaps a rubber sleeve would help there.

Title: Didn't stand a chance
Review: I broke my old trusty tater masher after 20 years of abuse. I'm really surprised it lasted that long. I happened across one similar to my old one for $6 while grocery shopping so I decided to give it a go. Half way through it's first potato mashing, the handle came right off in my hand. I slid the handle back on and limped it through it's maiden voyage before tossing it into the trash and fired up Amazon to research its replacement.I ran across this particular stainless steel tater masher, looked it over and read the reviews, and realized this was the one. This will be the heirloom that I pass down through the generations. I can actually see it lasting that long. It's a beast! Taters dread coming into my house out of pure fear of my newfound mashing ability. They try to slip through unscathed but they didn't stand a chance. This masher's design assures smooth smashed potatoes at a record clip. I can get potatoes to their smooth creaminess in about half the time to took me previously... and they're much smoother than before.I am rating 5 stars for being easy to clean, 5 stars for sturdiness. and 4 stars for ease of use. The hole on the end of the handle for hanging it makes using the masher almost uncomfortable during use. It could just be my technique of mashing with the handle in the palm of my hand. It's not sharp ,but it's not palm friendly either. If I knew for a fact that the handle was solid, I'd cut off the end and grind it out smooth and it would be perfect.If you're looking for a sturdy, quick, easy to use masher that's a breeze to clean, look no further.

Review: I was looking for a sturdy set of utensils that feel good in my hands and will last a lifetime. That's exactly what I received.I bought these knowing the set did not fully meet my needs. It is missing a pasta spoon, skimmer, and 2oz sauce ladle with a spout. I was able to locate a similarly designed pasta spoon, and skimmer, but not a 2oz sauce ladle with a spout here on Amazon.The Potato Masher is not my preferred design. I prefer wire loop mashers as I like my potatoes less cooked when mashed, rather than creamed. I make Netherland's boerenkole or a kale hash often, and the holes in this Potato Masher clog up, so the wire loop design is better for this. A wire loop masher is also much easier to use when extracting tomato juice for canning or making sauces from fresh tomatoes.If Millvado made the above pieces I'd buy them in a heartbeat to complete my set.I've attached an image of a proof of concept rack that I quickly made for my utensils. This is a bit too wide at 23" (58.5cm), but I should be able to reduce this to 20" (50-51cm) by trimming the ends and adjusting the spacing for the utensils on the right. The top and bottom should be beveled so they don't catch dirt.Knowing in advance the limitations of this set, I am happy with my purchase.
