Take “a breezy romp through the corridors of power town” (USA TODAY) with co-host of The View and former White House Communications director Nicolle Wallace in her electrifying insider novel of three powerful women on a day that will change the country forever.
Charlotte Kramer, the 45th President of the United States, has done the unprecedented in allowing a network news team to document a day in her life—and that of her most senior staff. But while twenty news cameras are embedded with the president, the unthinkable happens: five major attacks are leveled on US soil. Her secretary of defense, Melanie, and her press secretary, Dale, must instantly jump into action in supporting the president and reassuring the country that the safety they treasure is in capable hands.
But secrets have always thrived in President Kramer’s White House. With all eyes on them and America’s stability on the line, all three women are hiding personal and professional secrets that could rock the West Wing to its very foundations…and change the lives of the people they love most.
With an insider’s sharp eye and her trademark winning prose, Nicolle Wallace delivers a timely novel of domestic and political intrigue that is impossible to put down.

Title: Great Read
Review: Nicolle Wallace is a writer who knows Washington, DC. Her insight into life in the White House circle and the characters that we met in Eighteen Acres, the first novel in her trilogy, are like old friends and we care what happens to them. I would advise anyone who is planning to purchase this one to order the third novel at the same time. You won't want to wait to start it!

Title: INTENSE AND REALISTIC
Review: Author Nicolle Wallace follows the axiom of writing what she knows about; and she gives us an intense, realistic, and personal look inside the White House with her new novel, MADAM PRESIDENT. She brings the cloaked, inner workings of the presidency, the press corps, and the West Wing to readers with an intimate style. Drawing upon her years as a White House insider, Wallaceâs skills and writing are at their best when sheâs dealing with political strategy.Wallaceâs protagonist is a female US president who is forced to deal with multiple acts of terrorism on American soil. As a woman, she must be seen as a strong leaderâbut not so strong as to be void of emotions and the ability to connect with the electorate. Her professional and personal lives are constantly scrutinized by the press. Itâs a delicate balancing act and President Charlotte Kramerâs equilibrium endures many blows. The novelâs best features are fast-paced plot development within a 24-hour period, and allowing readers to experience events from the perspectives of multiple key characters. It was during these periods that the story was most enjoyable.I wish the first 30% (read on my old Kindle, so no page numbers) had been written differently. The need to give the reader back story was solved with narrative. This âtellingâ and not âshowingâ detracted from my overall enjoyment. As engaging as the remainder was, it impaired my overall impression of the novel. If Wallace did it to pare down the number of pages, then I think it was a poor choice. Dialogue is a powerful tool to drive plot. It would have enhancedânot hamperedâthe readersâ connecting with the characters and seamlessly allowed for back story. Since Wallace writes realistic dialogue, she would have excelled with this aspect, too.If you have ever wondered what itâs like to work inside the White House, MADAM PRESIDENT paints a vivid picture. And if youâve been curious about the careers of national news correspondents and the behind-the-scenes machinations for TV broadcasts, this is the real deal.

Title: Inside Look At the White House in Crisis!
Review: MADAM PRESIDENT is a fast moving story of written from the point of view of each senior staff member and focuses on the events of one momentous day at the White House. Nicolle Wallace shares details of their roles in the story as the plot focuses one day with the President Charlotte Kramer. The storyline places readers with each staff member as the story delves into what how they deal with the dayâs events.During the filming of âThe Day with the President,â by a news network, Charlotte and her staff begin their day preparing for an important political topic at a womenâs conference. Readers are introduced to her press secretary Dale, a close advisor Warren Carmichael, and Melanie, the Secretary of Defense. The author provides her readers with backstories, both personal and professional, for all the supporting characters. The momentum of the MADAM PRESIDENT storyline changes as events of the day jump from normal to crisis in an instant when five separate terrorist attacks occur in cities across the nation and in Washington, D.C. Readers see staff responding to the events and helping the President deal with the crisis. Wallace expands the backstories for Dale, Melanie, and Charlotte to help readers understand their interpersonal relationships. Charlotte gathers advice from Melanie, whom she trusts implicitly, to create messages showing a stable America and offering acknowledgement of loss.Readers experience Charlotteâs personal feelings and view how she is dealing with the turn of events. Wallace creates a subplot focusing on Charlotte and Melanieâs writing the Presidentâs speech to the nation. She updates Melanieâs backstory of her work at the White House which includes press secretary and Chief of Staff and Secretary of Defense. Readers are given a look at Melanieâs secrets, concerns, and her bond with Charlotte.Almost twelve hours after the attacks, Charlotte delivers her speech reaching out to the nation and the world, acknowledging loss and giving encouragement to move forward. The author places her readers next to Charlotte as she shares personal plans and plans for her presidency. Wallaceâs plot will grab readers, taking them through curves and obstacles and surprises. MADAM PRESIDENT is a powerful story with an ending that will beat all endings.

Title: not as good as the first two
Review: A new pivotal character is introduced but it seems odd since he is never mentioned in the first two books. Story seems both rushed and long. It is not as believable as the earlier storylines

Title: Madame President â A Great Story
Review: Thank you, Nicolle Wallace! The story of our first female president is a great read and an insightful view of life inside the White House from both an insider and a very good storyteller. I was hooked from the first few pages of the first book straight through to the end of the third book. I hope to see other novels from you in the future.

Title: We are all defined by our Worst Day
Review: Madame President showcases the leader of the free world who is Expected to keep every ball in the air, and be ready to swing a bat, if necessary. I do wish the ink given to recap previous storylines had been more restricted. If you read the two prior books, you were more interested in the Now.I thought, and still do think, Peter deserves his own Epilogue or Novella. There is definitely more to him than the constant juggling of female angst and teenagers.Written in 2015, we know that the first female POTUS is still out there, waiting on the world.Let's hope she reads Wallace's series before she decides to run, and has her " Melanie" in tow.
