Title: This printer is a perfect choice
Review: I received my Canon Pixma TR8620a today. It arrived in 3 days. My previous printer was also a Canon Pixma MP series. After 16 years of regular use in my work/home 1 person office, it died last week. I have a 2019 laptop and a 2024 android phone that the new printer connected to without a hitch. Using the touchscreen on the printer, along with going on line following the quick startup directions, was simple. It took about 20 minutes total to set up the printer and connect it and my phone to print using wifi. I don't understand why some are writing a book about how to connect? I just have fairly basic computer skills, and I didn't have any connectivity issues. The ink tanks are a bit sleeker and obviously updated from the older model tanks, but they go into the printer the same way, super easy. Paper is easy to load. Love the touch screen control panel. I printed a test picture and the color quality is great as it has 5 dedicated color tanks. The ADF worked well as did the 2 sided feature. Black amd white copies have really good clarity. This printer is faster than my older model, and is a bit quieter, although it does make some noise. I'll update in about 6 months. Canon makes a great printer. I never had one problem from my old printer during the entire time I owned it. Phenomenal quality mechanically, amd the body held up without anything breaking even if most of the body is molded plastic. It was also at a good price point and Amazon had reduced it as well. I'm very happy with my purchase so far.

Title: efficient printing
Review: I had a mega tank printer which was just fine when it was workin. However, if it is not used very often, the ink supply tubes would dry up ;and it would not print pictures very well. Any way the cartridge printer is best for my home and usage. This printer is one of the best I have ever had. It does what I want, print, scan and copy very well. I highly recommend this printer. Photos are perfect, scanning to a computer requires the scanning app but works very well. And, copying is effortless. I have it connected to my network and is hard wired to two computers. Excellent purchase.

Title: It’s ok, pretty heavy though for my liking
Review: I got this as a small foot print crafting printer for printing craft projects, super easy to set up. It did say I had a paper jam in my cassette tray, after a while I fixed it. Yes it can be noisy but the quiet mode feature did make a difference. The only thing this cost more is the ink! The colors very vibrant, no true savings. I only need this for adf scanning soon. I didn’t realize for its size it’s a bit big for my room.

Title: Works very well
Review: I’ve been using canon all-in-one units for my small office. They have been very good overall with an occasional hiccup now and again. This one prints, faxes and connects to my router without a hitch. Set up is straight forward. Touch screen prompts sometimes need more than one tap but with so many other similar all-in-ones with mixed reviews, I am very pleased with this one. Considering price, features and ease of use, I highly recommend.

Title: Adequate but flimsy; Canon quality has declined
Review: This was a replacement for a Canon MX922 that suddenly died after 6 years. According to Canon, this is their current most equivalent model to the MX922, but even on paper it's clearly an inferior model. I was hesitant to purchase it, especially at 3x the price of my previous printer, but after much research, it was the most reasonably priced printer that had all of the features, and allegedly the quality printing, I wanted. The printer is compact, which is the most positive thing I can say about it. As soon as I pulled it out of the box, I could feel how flimsy it is. I was so disappointed in the quality that I put it back in the box and desperately tried to revive my MX922; that was, sadly, unsuccessful. The top cover/adf is super light and feels like it could snap off. The front paper tray basically bends when you touch it and is so loose that it doesn't feel like it's actually attached to the printer. The full display panel needs to be flipped up in order to use the unit, but like everything else, it is not solid, and each time I move it, it feels wrong, like it's about to break, which I suspect is likely to happen. There is a rear paper feeder, which is supposed to be used for photo paper, envelopes, etc. It is a sad alternative to the dedicated photo paper tray of the MX922. Additionally, it claims to auto-detect paper once loaded, but it doesn't.I didn't have any issues with set up; it was pretty straightforward, and I was able to connect to my network with no problem. Documents print fine, and auto-duplex works. However, the print resolution is half of the MX922, which is not evident in documents, but is noticeable in photos. It also prints all photos slightly overexposed, which I am hoping to remedy by adjusting color management.I am so bummed that THIS is the "replacement" for my sturdy, workhorse, quality-photo printer. Sadly, the MX922 is now a legacy model, so vendors who do have it are price gouging like crazy, or I would have purchased it again. The TR8620a is the perfect representation of how Canon is cutting corners to cut costs, while *not* passing the savings on to the consumer. No more Canon printers for me.

Customers say

Customers have negative opinions about the connectivity and sturdiness of the printer. They mention it won't reconnect to WiFi when awakened, and the wireless LAN setup would be impossible if they didn't have a lot of experience with setting up. Opinions differ on the performance, ease of setup, print quality, value for money, and scanning quality.
