Title: Very Simple Recipes
Review: I purchased this book for my 10 year old Papillon who needed to go on a diet for kidney disease. For me it was completely new cooking for my dog. I thought there was a good chance I would be cleaning up "mud flaps", but after the first recipe called Lamb Hash, there were no problems. The second time around I fed it to my 5 year old Papillon and he had no digestive problems either. Since buying the book I have tried 5 other recipes all of which my dogs loved. The recipes are incredibly simple and I like the fact that the carbohydrates to protein ratio is given on every meal as well as percentages of fat and antioxidants. The book is also very detailed on what vegetables and fruits to feed and the benefits of both. The only thing I wish was added was a vegetable option on meals because not all grocery stores carry parsnips and snap peas. Also for dogs with kidney problems I wish a few more recipes were given. That being said the book is very good in my opinion and I would recommend it to anyone who is trying to cook for their dog for the first time.

Title: Better than BalanceIt.com, More options than See Spot Live Longer
Review: If you are interested in feeding your pups some real food, but not yet committed to feeding fresh meals 100% of the time yet or just want to supplement your pup's dish with some fresh goodies here and there more than "See Spot Live Longer the ABC Way", then this book is it. All of the recipes in this book is much, much simpler than the author's previous book, and there are plenty of "one ingredient - just add to the dog's dish" foods to choose from with a convenient feeding amount chart by dog sizes with every item and recipe, which I believe is vital for long-term practical use. You can tell the author actually did cook and fed each of the recipe to his dogs in this book and did the hard work of measuring out the end result volume unlike BalanceIt.com calculator that doesn't tell you how much food you'd actually end up with after cooking or serving sizes (they only tell you raw material weights). You don't have to be a serious cook (even a mediocre one) to start feeding your pups some healthy meals with this book! Easy does it.

Title: Thorough book with lots of sound tips!
Review: I actually looked through all the dog recipe books on Amazon. I first bought one that sounded really good but it turned out just to have raw food "recipes". Most of the other books specialized in treats and I wanted to know how to combine foods for a balanced dog diet. This book does just that - it tells you for each recipe how much to give your dog by his weight and also how to add supplements if you are giving your dog a 100% diet of homecooked foods. It tells you exatly what meats to buy, what veggies to add and what not to add. It does have treats but the book is mostly "meal" recipes. I just love this book. Well worth the money.

Title: pleasantly surprised
Review: The version I read was the kindle edition. Not only did the author break down the nutrition & calories, but also summarized its equivalence in dry food/kibble portion. In addition, he tells you what the acceptable dosage amount for herbs, spices, meats, vegetables and fruits, based upon your dog's weight. There is so much more valuable info too, such as the amount of calcium available fro egg shells in powdered form! I 'm purchasing this book as gifts for a few of my dog owner friendsð

Title: If you love you pup, get this book!
Review: This has been the perfect book for me as my dog was recently diagnosed as diabetic. Before I purchase the Kindle version, I emailed the author, Rick Woodford, asking if there were applicable recipes. His response was affirmative, along with a personal response. I've used several of the recipes and have learned so much from the remainder of the book and its wealth of information. The finished product is also eye pleasing, something that never comes from a can or bag. Today I'm making "Not Too Chili for Kale" and "Cluck and Quinoa," both super loaded with protein and flavor and favorites of my special fur kid.

Review: This book is the best for new or experienced dog owners who are looking to add variety to their pups diet. My own dog has chronic IBS and skin allergies, so I was looking for help to control her issues without adding more medications. This book is simple, easy to read and understand, and makes home cooking for your dog WAY easier than you might think. The option to cook and combine with kibble made it much easier to get going and my dog loves the recipes so far.

Review: This practical presentation is proving to be more useful than other in-depth manuals I have read. The author's choice of format is clear to understand. The over-all health of our two wee souls has improved considerably since following the recipes. It is with considerable gratitude that I recommend this book!
