Review: I got this for a friend for Secret Santa. We all played it this weekend and had a blast! I would recommend it for a gag gift for people with a sense of humor.

Title: Not Conservative
Review: Your definition of conservative may vary. Nevertheless, this is a vulgar and crude game, and goes well beyond innuendo. If you’re looking for a game to start meaningful political and values conversations, look elsewhere. This could be a funny game if it weren’t so explicit.

Title: Fun, mostly even-spread humor
Review: As with a lot of things I’ve seen lately: I don’t the the people complaining used/read the product.I got this as a gag gift and I’m definitely a right-leaning a libertarian. Per some of my EXTREMELY liberal friends, I’m called “extremely right wing, not not alt-right” and my friends in the other side say “you are confusing.”The game is actually funny. My leftist friends were more racist per the game on average and my righty friends were more liberal. It made everyone laugh. There’s no serious discussion to really be had even after a couple dozen rounds, but it’s still fun. That being said: yes, there is a bias on the stats and where they are pulled from. Example: there was a card that referenced salon.com which people on both sides cringed at, but made us have to question how to answer simply based on the source. When you read the sources in the cards and know their political leanings you can start to guess many of the outcomes. When you look them up online, you can see a lot of rebuttal on a lot of the sources chosen, but it really made us think about who was massaging what data to get what results. When you play the political statistic massaging game with the questions you can start to see SOME patterns but a few still remained surprising. If you follow politics, know NewsGuard and your media biases it’s easier to guess. The debate cards weren’t really debate. People were either split as expected per philosophical leaning or everyone agreed. People on both sides of the aisle were like, “yeah, that’s what I figured. So I voted your way so I wouldn’t lose a card.”Could the game pull from wider range of sources? Sure. Could that have picked more controversial ways to say things and/or debate topics? Sure (as long as they didn’t mind being banned or protested outside their office). Example: some gun control information mixed with other murder statistics from the FBI website is always fun to mess with my anti-gun friends because they refuse to believe it and it’s a good giggle. They try and use the GVA website, which is very massaged data when you look into it. Same as the anti-climate change sites that goes strictly on man-made stats and ignore others, making it more like GVA.But is it fun: yes.Is it offensive or controversial: no. Especially in an era of Cards Against Humanity and their ilk.At least this game has logical rules, generates some laughs and can be enjoyed by people on both sides. There’s a couple of “I told you so” moments that make both sides gloat temporarily that you will find.It doesn’t paint Republicans as racists nor Nazis and it doesn’t paint Democrats as fascist, socialist snowflakes. Sure the score card has some of it, but just in fun and equally as funny on both sides.Really, the negative comments are people that either didn’t play or only played one or two rounds. We pretty much went through the whole box in a night.

Title: Boring for what it is
Review: Bought as a gag gift for some friends and I to play. For how edgy and provocative the text on the box/labeling is, the game was relatively tame. Nothing in the two-hour session we played was THAT controversial and a lot of the questions have pretty obvious answers that the card wants you to lean towards. That being said, make sure that the people you play with are on the same political wavelength as you; my friends and I are all relatively progressive and the debate questions weren't that divisive for us, but I can imagine the debate questions tearing families apart if you have your college-aged sister arguing with your Baby Boomer grandma 😂As a conversation piece it's OK, but as a $20 card game you're better off watching Fox News and fact-checking it as you go.
