Title: Quality
Review: Finally found a Ramen noodle that's fantastic. Will be keeping this item stocked in the pantry for sure. Can add to any soup or sauce dish or stir fry when noodles are called for and the prep time is only 4 minutes. Taste great, texture is just right. Fantastic.

Title: My husband approves
Review: Yes, there are a lot of ramen noodles on the market but my husband hates them all except for these. They taste more homemade instead of over processed. The texture is what you want in a traditional noodle in my opinion. My husband makes his own noodles but when you don't feel like doing all that work these are a great alternative.

Title: Taste best if cooked in some of the Hondashi or other broth
Review: These ramens cook very nice, maintain a wonderful and tender texture and taste. The cooking directions on the package are excellent. Eat them right away while freshly cooked .

Title: Way better than instant
Review: Real ramen noodles, with the right texture and flavor, especially compared to instant.Note on the sodium content: You aren't supposed to boil real ramen noodles in broth. Ever. Boil them in plain water, never anything else. Then drain the noodles into a sieve or colander, and shake off as much of the cooking water as possible. You can also rinse the noodles and shake them off again, plenty of Japanese ramen-ya chefs do that. The noodles really shouldn't have that much salt left, as long as you're actually preparing them the right way.If you look at any reasonably authentic recipe for homemade ramen noodles, they're going to have a pretty similar amount of sodium before cooking. Like the recipe on Serious Eats says it has 800 mg of sodium per portion.

Title: Yes, you CAN use them for instant noodle type soup, but...
Review: Yes, you CAN use them for instant noodle type soup, but you have to follow a few steps. We have a water cooler that does hot water; now, it's not boiling, but it's pretty damn hot, so short of throwing things in the microwave, it does the job with instant soup mixes, oatmeal, and cocoa.I was looking for a noodle that I could use to replace the cup of ramens I was eating occasionally (for better taste, less sodium, just generally trying to find a healthier option so I wouldn't feel so guilty eating them in the first place). Other reviews mentioned the saltiness and if you taste the noodle before cooking, it's pretty salty. I was experimenting with making it in a standard size coffee mug because that's about right for a small thing of soup.Anyway, a whole bundle will NOT fit in a cup. Don't even try. I can get about 2/3 of a bundle into one, snapping off short 2" sections from the bundle and putting them in upright. If it looks a too crowded in the cup, it probably is, especially since you need to take into consideration that the water still has to go in, along with anything you might want to add later, and the noodles will expand a little. Then I put the hot water from the water cooler in the cup and cover the cup (I don't really have anything suitable at work, so I just use a paper napkin and make sure it doesn't dunk into the water). Let stand about 4-6 mins., depending on how you like your noodles, and then drain the water. Not all of it, just most, so the noodles are still a little wet, but not swimming. It keeps them from sticking together. Draining gets rid of the majority of the salt and leaving a little behind makes sure there's still some of the starches from the noodles, along with the salt, that stays behind for flavor. I suppose if you wanted to get rid of even more of the salt, you could use cold water to rinse, but it's excessive for my personal tastes. Then I dump in my package of instant miso soup in the cup, fill with hot water, and let everything sit for a couple of minutes before eating.I've also tried it with the microwave, which gives you faster results and seems to cook the noodles a little better, but you have to watch it a little more because if the water boils, you'll have a noodle-y mess. Now I'm looking forward to working toward a full blown ramen, with the veggies and meats and different soup base flavors!

Title: Quality ramen noodles to use in recipes
Review: I got these because I didn't want to use the little packages of pre-seasoned ramen you can buy at the store. I wanted actual ramen to make a soup with so I gave these a shot. I love them! They come packaged in little rolls which are roughly one serving size (for an adult entree). I used two of the rolls in a ramen soup recipe and they worked perfectly! I didn't have to worry about breaking up the compressed square of noodles, either, which I appreciated. I just unwrapped and put the noodles in the broth. It turned out wonderfully!
