The RP-AX58 provides 160 MHz bandwidth* for dramatically faster wireless connections. With up to 4X higher network capacity, it can handle more streaming, gaming, and smart home devices simultaneously. The more efficient transmission scheduling can also greatly extend the battery life of your IoT gadgets and reduce network congestion. Disclaimer: Actual data throughput and WiFi coverage will vary from network conditions and environmental factors, including the volume of network traffic, building material and construction, and network overhead, result in lower actual data throughput and wireless coverage.

Title: Sleek, easy to set up, pairs flawlessly with my Asus router in the app - set up < 10 minutes.
Review: I ordered this to use as an AiMesh extender for my Asus router . The set up was super simple in the Asus appl and it connected with my router and then I was able to move the extender to the area of the house that needed the boost and hit the optimization button, boom! Works flawlessly and is super simple and worked as intended with extending the wifi signal to the basement and other side of the house (even the deck outside). Sometimes it seems like devices connected to this will have faster speeds than my router haha. The seamless transitions between everything is great too, no drops or signal interactions. Would very much recommend and will purchase more in the future as needed to extend the mesh system.

Title: So easy to join my Asus AiMesh system
Review: I have a metal workshop that isn't very far from my house. However, being metal, the WiFi was terrible. I purchased this extender, plugged it in next to my Asus ZenWiFi AiMesh system, if found it, and automatically joined the AiMesh environment. No muss, no fuss. Took it to the workshop, plugged it in and within a couple of minutes it was running perfectly. To be sure, I placed it in the window, just so no metal would interfere. Then I ran my tests and throughput was as good as it was in the house. So glad I found it!

Title: Could not get it to work consistently
Review: I used this with an ASUS 1900 wifi router which supports AiMesh but could only briefly get it to connect. The instructions are very weak and require that you use their phone app to set up the connection. I prefer using desktop software that permits a more direct, manual installation but that is not an option. The WPS did not work either in AiMesh mode or otherwise - I avoid WPS for security reasons but was willing to inable it on the main router in order to try that installation route. Fiddled with this for many hours and got it to connect with the main wifi but gave up after I could not get the wired back haul to work and the connection was dropped. I tried the Reset button but that would not work at first. I finally got the Reset to work after many tries but could not get the device to reconnect to the router afterwards. The instructions are almost nonexistent and were not useful either in setting up the device or resetting it. Could not find much info browsing the Internet.

Title: Good extender ifâ¦.
Review: This extender is a good choice if you have an ASUS brand router to extend, and you prefer mounting it in a power outlet. If you have another brand access point main router, I would not choose this extender. Although it has good rage, it is a little difficult to set up in my opinion. (I have a set up tip later.) It is a little expensive, and may not work consistently with other brand routers in my experiences. I will explain those issues later. For non ASUS routers, I have had better experiences with the inexpensive TP-Link RE315, or if you want better performance, the RE715x.If you want to extend an ASUS router, I would suggest buying another ASUS router and using it in a mesh configuration for the same price as this extender. (Like the RT-AX58U) The second router will have better range, better specs and have support for a guest network. If you want to set up an ASUS AI Mesh configuration and prefer to use a power outlet, this extender is your only option. Once set up correctly, this extender has been solid for me. It is configured by logging into your main ASUS router from either a web browser or the ASUS router app. No account sign up is needed. Both work good. The app is easier to use. The web browser has other options not available in the app. Both the access point and extender are configured through the access point main router including firmware updates and all the settings. No further need to log into the extender. Now the not so good. This extender does not extend a guest network if you have one set up. To login to the extender, there is an ASUS âextenderâ app (as opposed to the ASUS ârouterâ app) When I purchased this extender, the âextenderâ app constantly crashed. ASUS recently updated the app after ignoring it for a few years and it may work better now. I had to use a web browser for initial login. (You can also use the ârouterâ app, which did not crash.) If you have a different brand main router, log into the ASUS extender and search for your wireless network. Join the network using your wireless password. The extender should connect and extend your network. This has not been consistent with non ASUS routers for me and the connection drops for short periods sometimes in my experience. If you have an ASUS main router, my big tip is to connect the extender with an Ethernet cable to the access point router. (Only if it is an ASUS router.) Trying to set up the extender wirelessly was hit or miss to say the least. Basically, you log into your ASUS main router, go into the network map and add an AI Mesh extender by searching for it. (Follow the instructions supplied with the extender.) I definitely suggest using the Ethernet cable for initial set up. Use the same WiFi SSID for all the signals except the guest network if you have one or turn on smart connect. After set up, you can disconnect the cable and place the extender anywhere it can reach a signal and it will automatically set up the WiFi mesh. All mesh routers, extenders, clients, and their traffic, is monitored and configured through the access point. Very nice.

Title: Fantastic little device
Review: Iâm using it as a mesh access point connected via ethernet to an Asus GT-6000. It took three minutes to setup, rock solid performance. Recommended (at least for my configuration).

Title: Little Extender that could
Review: I needed to replace my lawn sprinkler control center that's is located at my dock which is over 250 feet away from my house. I chose a Hunter Hydrawise unit which can be controlled by wifi. For wifi at my dock I had a my old ASUS RT-AC86P setup as a Aimesh and located at a window at the rear of my house and a Netgear extender at the dock I with this setup i was getting maybe 2 bar and 7 to 10 mg download with a lot of disconnects and very unstable (main Wifi is a ASUS RT-AX86U) . I tried a extender that uses the house wiring but no luck made sure that it was on the same 120 volt circuit. The 7 to 10 mb was not working so figured I would give ASUS RP-AX58 a try, when it arrived I kind of laughed and thought this little thing is not going reach the dock if the RT-AC68 can barley reach it. So I added the RP-AX58 to my wifi Mesh and set up against the rear glass window and then put my old ASUS RT-AC68P at the dock to my surprise I'm getting a steady 50 to 55 mb at the dock with no disconnects then turned on the RT-AC68 now I have great wifi all over my back yard, the complete setup took no more then 10 minutes.

Title: Signal is weaker than I expected
Review: I purchased this unit to augment my wi-fi on the second floor of my home. I optimized the placement but I lost a considerable amount of signal strength. Itâs barely adequate but functional.
Customers say
Customers are satisfied with the design of the wireless signal repeater. However, some customers have reported that it's not a good choice and barely adequate. Opinions are mixed on functionality, ease of setup, connection quality, signal strength, speed, and app functionality.
