Amazon Basics 5-Blade MotionSphere Razor for Men features a multi pivot design to follow the contours of your face and a beard trimmer for shaving goatee, sideburns and under nose. The razor cartridge is hypoallergenic, includes a lubricating strip with vitamin E, and has an anti-clog design for quick rinse. To load refill cartridge, push razor handle into a cartridge as it sits in the dispenser until it clicks. Cartridges fit Amazon Basics Razor Handles only; does not fit other brands. INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Prepare: Wash your face with warm water to remove dirt and oils. Apply a pre-shave oil (optional). 2. Lather: Apply shaving cream or gel to your face using a brush or directly with your hands. 3. Shave: Use a razor to shave in the direction of hair growth, using short and light strokes, rinsing the razor frequently. For a closer shave, you can reapply shaving cream/gel and shave against the grain (opposite direction of hair growth). However, be cautious as this may increase the risk of skin irritation or ingrown hairs. 4. Soothe: Rinse your face, pat dry, and apply an aftershave lotion or balm to moisturize and soothe the skin. 5. Store: Shake off excess water after use and store your razor in a clean, dry place.

Title: Flabbergasted - (pics of my ugly mug for shaving illustration only)
Review: I am stunned by all the shaving culture diatribe. I am 47 years old and have been actively shaving for more than 3 decades. That beautiful beard of mine is something that I maintain for about 5 months per year. From a clean shave to 3 weeks of not shaving it is fully in, but for length. Point is, I grow a thick beard, fast. Now, 7 months out of the year I shave that thick, fast growing beard, along with my entire head and neck - clean. Until a few years ago I did this every day and wore a suit as a practicing attorney (I'm now blessed with my days filled with homeschooling my kids, working heavy machinery to make pasture for a developing farm, and generally staying out of public). In ALL of these years I barely ever thought about how "enjoyable" my private-"me"-shave time was, or how special and pampering my equipment was. Fact is, I'm a fair-skinned white guy with thick facial hair and moderately sensitive skin. I used the regular progression of Gillette razors and marveled at how many blades were being added to my cartridges (I'm waiting for the "Razor Washcloth" where you wipe your entire face, etc. with a cloth covered in 1,000 razors that spin, wiggle, gyrate and sing Elvis songs for your most enjoyable 3 minutes per morning rush). One day I heard about man-shaming, corporate-s'plaining from Gillette and assessed my shaving costs. Here's my set up: razor + Lever 2000 that I wash my entire ... me ... with. That's it. Lever is pennies per week, Gillette ...??? Why was I so heavily invested in this company, were there good alternatives I mused? Hence my introduction to all this panty-wasted shave-culture gibberish (stick with me to hear support for this conclusion).I nearly got completely freaked out by considering a new razor. I imagined chunks of my tender flesh on the shower floor due to unknown shaving follies, calls to the fire department to please put out this unbearable burning, and aliens just saying "ahhh, screw it, let's stop wasting time and 86 these puny life-forms; this guy's shaving mishaps have completely caused us to loose faith of any redemption for the bugs!"Seriously, the discussion was nearly crippling. Don't get me wrong, I lived for years in Chicago area group homes, etc. with some black guys who really had to take care with their products or they'd get some bad ingrowns, etc. But these were the outliers, NOT the norm out of all the guys I've known in nearly half a century! Finally, I overcame internet-info-overload and picked this razor (Solimo 5 blade). It arrived and I found myself comparing it closely to the Gillette - STILL due to the online discussions. I'd say the docking mechanism on the Gillette seems stronger (although I don't normally engage in Fencing with my razor, no matter the make), and the back of the Gillett cartridge doesn't have the additional horizontal support that the Solimo does (which then catches some additional debris - but, I just don't take out my unsightly razor and show it off to guests anyway so ... meh).Shaving ... IT SHAVES! Like ... a RAZOR!!! I got a few tiny pinpoint knicks by my lip the first time or 2 because it's not identical to the Gillete I was used to, but by use 4 or so, I don't notice any big difference to shaving with my Gillette. And I've been shaving my head, neck, and face with this thing (meaning the same, 1st cartridge) for over 5 weeks now. Also, I hang the thing in my shower. I don't rub it on fancy pads. I don't blow it out, fluff it, polish it, sing to it, or coddle it in anyway. I grab this servile hunk of plastic, thrust it under the water and start unceremoniously scrubbing my many areas of skin with it in generally rough and crude fashion until I am slick and smooth as the day I was born and then rinse off, towel off and start putting out all the proverbial fires that my 4 young kids have started up while I dared take 5 minutes in the shower.Seriously, my process is: wash the body; rub Lever 2000 soap suds on head, neck and face; grab razor hanging on shower wall and stick under water; drag that thing unjudiciously this way and that way with and accross the hair grain on my head; finish head with reapeated little scrubbing actions (like rubbing adhesive off a table with your finger tip) against the hair grain to get the skin really smooth; repeat all of this with the face; judicious and sensible force and motion on my neck - come on now, I'm not a beast. And that's it. And after more than 5 weeks of this I was still getting ... o.k. results with my very first Solimo cartridge. BUT, being so cheap I ended up switching out to a new one today because there's no reason not to. The new blades didn't nick me once - so, I've adjusted my technique. I noticed the greater efficiency with the new blade, but my gosh, seriously this has got to be number 47,953 in importance out of the top 45,000 important things in my life. So, now that I've finished my journey down this rabbit hole, my conclusion is the Solimo is fine (as are most other shaving products, likely) and the shave-culture is a panty-waisted thing. Just one beast's opinion.Update 3/3/21: It's been a couple of years now and I'm still using the same system. This is nuts, but I believe I've only changed the head 5 or 6 times (tops) in that time. I did add one additional "trick" to what I do. I keep a spent toothbrush in the shower and give the razor head a little back and forth scrub before I shave and once during the shave (usually when I'm finished with my head and move to my neck, then face). Otherwise, every single thing I said above remains my experience. My wife even converted on those sweet, smooth, soft legs of hers and I'm fine with Solimo's results there too (and, let's be honest, if I'm not going into the office, or before a judge, the smoothness of her legs is FAR more important to me than that of my noggin', neck, or mug). Thumbs up and recommendations for Solimo 2 years after switching from "Girllete".

Title: Happy with first shave
Review: It will take time to evaluate the blades — for me it is not unusual to get a blade in the same pack that isn’t as good as the others — the handle on the other hand is perfect — it holds the cartridge securely — it feels solid — the weight and grip feel good in your hand — I have had handles in the past that didn’t hold the cartridge very well or felt awkward in your hand — I had to put one finger on the cartridge to keep it from coming off during a shave — if all of the blades are as good as the first one I will be very happy that I gave this Amazon Basics pack a try

Title: Close shave for a frugal price.
Review: I rate Gillette ProGlide Shield a 10. The razor by Amazon is 8.5. The razor delivers a close shave. It isn't quite as comfortable as the Gillette. The trimmer is a bit of an issue. The trimmer blade as a comb like guard that scrapes the skin. If you hold the razor at the same angle you would the Gillette it delivers a rough trim. Changing the angle reduces the roughness. I use the trimmer to create enough space for the regular blade. Not a big issue. The blade last about the same length of time as the Gillette. This razor and blades are a lot cheaper the than Gillette ProGlide Shield. They are sufficiently cheap that I change the blade once a week instead of waiting for the razor to give a rough shave before changing. This is now my razor of choice!

Title: Worth every penny!
Review: For the past few years I have been a "Harry's" guy, But either I got a bad batch of razors or the quality has declined because they have been tearing me up every time I shave. A good friend of mine mention these and I love them! Haven't had the first problem since the transition! Highly recommended!

Title: Wow!
Review: So I have been on 1 blade for the past 2 weeks. I had to try these as they were on sale and had great reviews. They shave better than any other blade I have tried in the past few years!

Title: Good value
Review: I read several good reviews about this razor and decided to give them a try. After 3-4 uses here are my thoughts:Handle - Good, ergonomic design, but feels light and cheap compared to other brands.Blades - Very good so far.Lubricating strip - Very good. Still quite slippery after 3-4 uses.Trimmer - poor (barely passable). Maybe it's the angle of this "trimmer", but it is terrible. Feels like it is pulling or scraping the hairs rather than cutting. I wonder if it's an actual metal blade or not.Overall, these are still a great value if you don't use the trimmer. If a precision trimmer blade is important to you, you may be disappointed.

Title: Exactly what I needed. Close shave
Review: I’ve always used Gillette or BIC and I decided to give the Amazon basic razors a try because razors have gotten expensive now. am I glad I did. probably the best shave I’ve ever had with no razor burn. great product. It has a great raises and rinses easily. They rinse clean and hair doesn’t clump in between the blades where you can’t get it cleaned, it’s a good product. I’m very happy with this product Recommended. And you get more bang for your buck.

Title: Smooth shave
Review: This seems to be a good quality razor and though I've only used it 5 times so far it shaves quite smoothly. I left a star off because I don't know how many shaves I will get before the smoothness leaves and the head is so wide to accommodate 5 blades that it makes it awkward to shave the upper lip.

Review: TL,DR: GREAT razors, but the Compliment’s 5 blade razors MIGHT be exactly the same and are 25% cheaper.I've tried numerous brands of shavers over the past few years, trying to find the best shave for the lowest cost, and this Amazon Solimo shaver is one of the better deals...with a few exceptions. When I started shaving over a decade ago, I bought the fanciest and most expensive Gillette Fusion cartridges available. I then tried the Fusion ProGlide and ProSheild razors, each more expensive than the last and offering a better shave. Eventually however, I got sick of paying over $5 per cartridge, so I started trying out different options. The Harry’s razors came with a cheap feeling handle and while their shaving cream was very nice and the trimming blade on the backside was the best I’ve ever used, that blades didn’t do anywhere near as good a job as the Fusion blades. Additionally, once you account for the exchange rate and shipping of the blades, they don’t end up being much cheaper than Gillette blades. Finally, as with other shave club subscriptions, Harry’s really tries to get you locked into a monthly plan, whereas I prefer to purchase large quantities of blades once or twice a year at a lower cost per cartridge. My next option was Schick Hydro 5 Sensitive. The Schick Hydro 5 blades shaved much nicer than Harry’s, though still not as smoothly as Gillette Fusion ProGlide. The Schick blades were also a fair bit cheaper than Harry’s or Gillette, though I wish the cartridge had a trimming blade on the backside like Harry’s and Gillette offer. The lubricating strip on the top does flip back so you can use the 5 blades to trim, but it doesn’t work as well as a single blade on the back. I gave my wife a spare Schick handle and cartridge for her to try while shaving in the shower, and she really likes them and actually prefers them to the expensive women specific blades she used to get. While I was happy with Schick, when I was down to the last of my 16 pack of cartridges, I decided to try these Amazon Solimo razors to see how they stacked up because the price was very good. In a head-to-head comparison with my last new Schick Hydro 5 blade, these Solimo razors actually shaved much better, almost as smoothly as I remember the Gillette Fusion ProGlide blades being, though that was a couple years ago. Regardless, these Solimo blades shaved very smoothly, the handle had a nice heft to it and the pivoting head meant it always had good contact. I have to order a spare handle so my wife can try them out in the shower to see if she prefers them over the Schick Hydro 5 cartridges, but I think there’s a good chance she will. While I really like the Solimo cartridges and they may become my default blade, I do have two issues:-The trimming blade on the back is either very bad, or I can’t figure out how to use it properly. Almost every time to try to use it, I end up cutting myself or at the very least giving that area razor burn. Unlike the Harry’s and Gillette trimming blades, the Solimo blade doesn’t have a guard along one edge to help indicate the best orientation for use. I really hope they revise the design at some point to improve this feature, because that would make it the best cartridge available.-These Solimo blades look to be IDENTICAL to the store brand 5 blade razor cartridges sold at Sobey’s grocery stores (Sobey’s, FreshCo, IGA, Safeway etc) and the Compliment’s brand cartridges are usually cheaper! My local FreshCo had a 4 pack for a regular price of $5.99, which is only $1.50 each, while these Solimo blades are $1.94 each for a 12 pack. I need to buy a Compliment’s starter pack to confirm that the handles and cartridges are interchangeable, but they look exactly the same. If the 4 pack of Compliment’s blades goes on sale, they would be even cheaper than the Solimo blades, and the Solimo cartridges come in a package with 3 times are many blades, so you’d think there should be a bulk discount.

Review: Razors are incredibly dull. Easily the worst razors I have used. I know I already payed for all these razors, but having gone through two (hoping the second one would not be as horrible as the first (it was)) I really do not want to finish the rest of the box. With that being said, the handle is probably the best razor handle I’ve used. It’s just a shame that the actual razors are so bad.

Review: I was looking for a good quality razor to replace my Gillette Mach 3 after I used the last of my Gillette blades. I did not want to purchase Gillette anymore after their divisive "We Believe" ad campaign. This is a very comfortable, very sharp, razor blade system at a reasonable price.

Review: The price for name brand 5 blade razors seems like price gouging so I decided to give these a try. They are excellent value for the money, I am very happy with this razor system. They are not quite as good as the name brand razors, the handle is not as solid and well built. The razors dont have the flip down edge to trim close like the name brand. The shave is better than 3or 4 blade razor but not quite as good as the name brand razor but for the price I am sticking with these. My guess as to why there are bad reviews is likely due to quality control, they may have improved the QC or I received a good set. With something like razors one bad blade is too many, if that happens I will revise my review. Also, at the time I wrote this review you can only buy this kit, you can't buy blades or handles separately. But for me this is fine, the handle is not as solid as the name brand razors so I would prefer to replace the handle. I dont shave every day so this kit will last me a long time.
