60 recipes for banana breads, easy loaf cakes and other one-bowl bakes, perfect for everyday home baking.

In 2020, banana bread had a moment. When the first lockdown arrived, anxious shoppers quickly stocked up on food but then found themselves with cupboards full of flour and fruit bowls overspilling with rapidly ageing bananas. The answer was simple and the resulting baking craze intense! But why stop at banana bread? There are plenty of other loaf cakes and easy bakes that you can rustle up in no time to enjoy with your mid-morning coffee or afternoon tea. A loaf cake is, by definition, made in a bread loaf pan (as its name implies) and is sometimes also known as a quick bread for that reason. These fuss-free recipes can incorporate a wide variety of ingredients, from fresh and dried fruit to nuts and seeds, and include delicious flavorings including chocolate, vanilla and warm spices. Popular recipes here include Chocolate Chip Banana Bread, Marmalade & Almond Bread, Lemon Polenta Loaf, Vanilla Pound Cake, Honey Cake, and so much more!

Title: Amazing Recipes; VERY PRACTICAL; Everyday Ingredients
Review: I decided to write this review... though I didn’t want to simply because I don’t feel Amazon as a company really appreciates my reviews (bad past experience), BUT... the reviews thus far for this spectacular book have appeared overly critical... shockingly so.This book of all things loaf cakes is geared toward this type of baker:1. You enjoy cooking with REAL ingredients... slice your own apples, zest your own lemons (no imitation lemon flavoring), using actual coffee for a mocha cake... etc. TO BE HONEST, This causes LESS GUILT when cooking all of these tasty loaves as I can say to myself... well... I did use ACTUAL FRUIT AND VEGETABLES to make these! Haha...2. You want recipes that are practical for when you SUDDENLY WANT TO BAKE but haven’t put too much planning ahead into it... as they are short, and with most of these recipes, you won’t need to search high and low for the ingredients to make them. “Hey hun, pick up some more bananas and peanut butter while you are out. We’re baking a cake.” No super exotic ingredients.3. You want recipes that are practical for REPETITION PURPOSES... The recipes are so easy, eventually, you may just learn them and no longer need the book. You may learn how to bake with this book... the recipes often have the same base ingredients with additional ingredients for making the cake special... make enough, and you can think up your own recipes.4. This book is a dream for someone who doesn’t have advanced culinary design skills for baking... they are loaf cakes (with some muffin recipes)... most won’t require icing... and those that do... THERE IS A PICTURE FOR EVERY RECIPE... copy what you see... the icing designs for loaf cakes in this book are easy.5. Going back to #3... newbies may love this book, because again, the recipes are short, the authors are quite specific when explaining the steps of these recipes, “... Tip the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix, being careful not to over mix otherwise the bread will be too tough”.6. It looks like home... I want to spoil my family, but I don’t want to SPOIL my family. Them coming home to cakes that look like they were made in a royal bakery is just too much... I think they may appreciate them less. I’d rather them come home to loaves where they can tell what’s inside and know mom didn’t spend five hours on it... only 45 minutes, and it’s marvelous.

Title: A Beauty
Review: I only received this book today so I haven’t tried any recipes but from skimming them over I’m sure they’ll be just fine. I’m not a great cook but I do like to bake. I decided to review it immediately because it is a beautiful book. The size of the book, photographs, the type, the colors…it’s amazing. It’s crazy but even if I never baked bread I’d still want to keep this book.

Title: Baking shouldn't be so frustrating!
Review: I didn't realize these were British recipes. There are American conversion measurements, but I feel like the author makes things overly and unnecessarily complicated. Someone just learning to bake might be confused. Sifting flour? Really?! These breads are too dense and heavy for my liking (I've tried about 6 recipes). Luckily, I've been baking for many years so I'm able to make my own modifications. The print is small too, which adds to the frustration!
