Title: Great to go along with a monthly fish delivery service!
Review: I feel like I should read this book from start to finish--there is soooo much good information. But, so far, I've just looked at each beautiful page, tagged the recipes I want to try, and made them! I LOVE that these cookbooks (America's Test Kitchen as editors) are written by real chefs. Every recipe is tested in their real kitchen. I have previously purchased books by bloggers or printed off recipes found online--and found that the recipes were missing vital information or for some reason, it just didn't turn out. But, the chefs writing this cookbook are professionals! The recipes are not pretentious--they are good fare that the whole family will enjoy. Ingredients are easily found at the grocery store or even just in my pantry. Recipes are easy to read and step-by-step guide you through something special! After all, this is not hamburger helper--these are chef-crafted recipes for us regular people. Each recipe is a little special--adding those nuances of flavor that I would not think of on my own. Highly recommended!

Title: Magnificent! Bravo!
Review: This cookbook is one that functions excellently as many things. If you are simply looking for fish recipes you have not tried before- this is it! If you are looking for recipes on a wide variety of fish types- this is it! If you are looking to increase your knowledge on methods of cooking different types of fish- this is it! If you feel most comfortable using recipes with pictures that show you how your finished recipe should look- this is it! If you are looking to be more health conscious and want the calories and nutritional information on what you cook- this is it!I love to cook and love to read cookbooks. Usually there is an obvious flaw to the user that the writer misses. Not so in this case! This is absolutely the most complete, well written, creative and informative cookbook on fish you will probably ever need! For me- I was really glad I took the time to read the âGetting Startedâ section. It is an excellent summary for the home (serious) cook on how to work with different cooking methods, different fish types, how to buy fish and how the book itself is set up. I got a ton out of this section because I totally appreciate a well informed summary that is neither too long or overly detailed. I want a practical book that I can use all the time. The other great thing about the organization of this book is there are separate chapters for everyday dinners, weeknight dinners and special occasion dinners. I love that there is recognition of the fact that I may be motivated to try making something on a Saturday night that I would never have the energy for on a Wednesday after work.Lastly, the recipes themselves are new, fresh, and well written. You will know how to substitute one fish for another, which fish would make a good substitute and which may not. Also, you will know why the recipe works. These recipes are not full of crazy ingredients that you have to drive to 3 grocery stores to find. Most recipes use just a handful of ingredients you are likely to find in any produce store. This is the best cookbook on fish I have ever read. I recommend it highly and hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Title: Best Seafood Cookbook
Review: I live in New Orleans, seafood central. This is an AMAZING cookbook to a T. Someone in the previous review wrote there were mostly shrimp recipes which so bizarre to me bc it is so inaccurate. There are equal number of shrimp, fish, bivalve, squid, octopus recipes across the board in every chapter. There are chapters explaining how each kind of fish should be prepared and cooked without using the recipes in this book which I appreciate. Itâs a true teaching book and the recipes are extraordinary to boot! 5 stars

Title: Heavy on the Shrimp
Review: The first two recipes I've made were easy and good. It appears most recipes aren't complicated which I like. The reason I took off a star is that it is very heavy on shrimp recipes. If you aren't allergic to shrimp as I am, and you like shrimp, this would be a benefit. I'm not sure I would have purchased it if I had known the high percentage of shrimp recipes compared to other fish.

Title: Pretty much everything you want to know about cooking seafood is here
Review: My diet is 80-90% seafood and I wanted a cookbook that would help me expand my recipe repertoire and cover a wide variety of dishes. Foolproof Fish does not disappoint. Despite the title, there are also plenty of recipes for shrimp, crab, lobster, mussels, etc. Every recipe Iâve tried following so far has been accessible, easy to prepare, and with tasty results. Thereâs enough recipes and variety in here that I feel like this is the only definitive seafood cookbook I need. The beginning pages provide a thorough lesson on the types of fish, how to look for fresh fish, how to store them, and how to prepare them for cooking. The layout of the book itself is great, with the photo on one page and the entire recipe on the next, so I donât have to keep flipping back and forth. I also like the inclusion of fish substitutions if the main one for a given recipe isnât available to you for whatever reason. I highly recommend this to fellow seafood lovers!

Title: Love this book
Review: I'm really impressed with this book. I love the recipes and the photos (I bought the spiral bound version). We're trying to eat less meat, but finding enough interesting alternatives is sometimes a challenge. But this book has changed all that. So many amazing recipes that so far have been simple to make, and have used easily available ingredients. It's my new favorite book!

Title: Happy to Have This Book
Review: Living in Alaska, there is a multitude of fish in our waters. This book is well written, and the recipes are easy to read and follow. This is a very handy book, and one that I am happy to own, and cook from!!! Remember people - if your fish flakes, it's OVERDONE!!! One segment should slide off the other, and no flaking!!!!

Review: I am not a fish lover, but have enjoyed the recipes I have tried from this book. Unfortunately though a lot of the fish used in the recipes is not available on the coast where I live. I know there are substitutions, but it would be nice to be able to use the correct ingredients.
