Title: AWESOME!!!
Review: I have waited for this cookbook to become available for over a year, and it is well worth the wait. The Author is a fabulously talented, funny lady who not only cooks mouthwatering dishes, she annually raises money for The Children’s Hospital, Blair E. Batson in Jackson Mississippi. She is also founder of The Sweet Potato Queens, a unique collection of amazing women belonging to SPQ chapters scattered about the world who love to gather in Jackson annually to participate in helping to raise money for ‘The Chirren’ or as I call them, ‘Jill’s Kids’. I can say with confidence that I respect and admire JCB more than any woman I know. I hope you’ll purchase her cookbook. The inhabitants of your dinner table will thank you!!!

Title: Love It
Review: I am a HUGE fan of The Sweet Potato Queens books and Jill Conner Browne. I have tried several of the recipes in the book to great reviews. The books are so funny and this one (as well as some of the others) has great advice, great recipes, and one of a kind financial tips. It is a great read. Any "Southern Gal" can relate and for those of you above the Mason-Dixon Line, it gives you great insight as to who we are and what we are capable of. My friends, The Definitely Divine YaYa Sisterhood, have shared these books over the years and have truly given the "SPQ" our greatest admiration and have used them as a kind of role model for our totally one of a kind group of 5.I suggest this book and all of the others in the series and can't wait for a new one to not only buy and put on my shelf, but stick on my new Kindle so I can get a good laugh at any given time.

Title: A Happy Gift
Review: This book was given to me by my sheep shearer after my mom died. I was sad and she knew I needed to smile again. And smile I did. And share I have with others needing to smile. (actually - laugh out loud). I read it out loud to my husband and he laughed with me. I am again ordering 3 more. Friends keep wanting to borrow my copy, so I keep them on hand to give away. It helps that the recipes are really good. My husband loves the Margarita recipe best. We have tried many of the recipes and been pleasantly surprised that they are each keepers, and become regulars on our menus. I would not be without this cookbook, read it again and laugh again each time.

Title: a laugh on every page
Review: Jill Conner Browne's Sweet Potato Queen reigns! In this combo cookbook and financial planner, we're treated to more of her insouciant, sassy fun. Martha Stewart clones need not open this book, as it's filled with buttery, cholesterol cloggin', great-tasting recipes using lots of bacon, boxes of mixes and processed food, like Miracle Whip and jello. Browne's common sense and hard-won wisdom enliven and inform each chapter, along with the antics of the Tammys and their men and kids. She's the madcap friend we all deserve to have--if there's no one like her in your life, go find a lady of a certain age who's not afraid to give anyone a (sometimes profane but extremely expressive) piece of her mind!

Title: More a very funny book than a cookbook
Review: This is so much fun. The entire Sweet Potato Queen series of books is hilarious. Women, especially Southern women, will love it if they don't have any feminist hangups. As a very strong woman having spent some time in the South, I found these books, all of them, to be absolutely falling-down funny, let me tell you. Jill Conner Browne has done something masterful here; she has managed to mercilessly make fun of men and women without hurting anyone's feelings. Brilliant writing, highly stylized while seeming to be inarticulate. It's not inarticulate; it's deliberately low-brow and pulls it off brilliantly. Wanna laugh at yourself and at the men in your life? These are the books you want to take with you to the beach, to the ladies' book clubs, to your mother-in-law's house, to your bed. Just wonderful!

Title: Funny books with recipes that would give you a heart attack.
Review: Reading one of these books Is probably enough. I got three of them and they seem very repetitive in nature. They are amusing, but not anything you would read more than once (the test of a good book in my opinion). I would never use the recipes in this book. They sound good, but not anything that would be in anyone's regular diet unless they are so overweight they are housebound!
