Title: Great reel for the budget minded!
Review: I picked this KastKing 4000 reel for saltwater pier fishing in Texas, where I winter. This reel is brand new for me so I decided to give it a try in Lake Ontario before I head to Texas. I spooled it with 30 lb braid and added a 20lb mono leader. Mounted the reel to a 9’ salmon rod a started to throw a ¾ oz spoon for Lake Ontario Salmon. Firstly, I have to say that this reel seems heavier than my same size Vanford but on my 9-foot rod, the weight added to my casting distance. After about 15 minutes I hooked a 15lb King Salmon. This retrieve felt very natural and I was easily able to retrieve the fish after it’s initial run. I kept that drag tight and the reel didn’t disappoint! Considering the price and heavy max drag I would consider buying a second! A great reel for the budget minded.

Title: Unleashing the Beast: KastKing ReKon's Superior Saltwater Performance
Review: I recently got my hands on the KastKing ReKon Saltwater Spinning Reel, and it's nothing short of a powerhouse. The reel promises a thrilling fishing experience with its robust build and precision engineering, explicitly designed to meet the challenges of saltwater fishing.First, this reel's tactile quality is remarkable. The frame, crafted from a high-tech Nylitech material, offers unmatched stiffness and durability, ensuring this reel is not just a one-season wonder, but a long-term investment. It feels like a tank, yet it operates with the finesse of a sports car, thanks to its finely tuned drag system that can handle up to 55 pounds of resistance. The smoothness of the retrieve is a standout feature. Each handle turn engages a satisfyingly crisp click, and the aluminum handle provides a secure grip that makes casting a breeze. The water-resistant sealing is particularly impressive, which adds a layer of reliability when facing the corrosive nature of saltwater environments. While the reel maintains a fixed anti-reverse system, this design choice simplifies the mechanics. It boosts the reel's reliability under strain—a critical factor when aiming to reel in the big one. The lack of a reverse switch is a minor trade-off for the overall performance and reliability.Pros:It is an exceptionally smooth and strong drag system perfect for big-game fishing.Rugged construction with a Nylitech frame ensures long-lasting use.Ergonomic aluminum handle that enhances comfort and control. The sealed design offers excellent protection against the elements.Cons:Fixed anti-reverse may not suit all fishing styles.

Title: Recommended
Review: This vacuum filter replacement was a perfect fit for my vacuum cleaner. It seems to be made of high-quality materials and is very smooth. I've used on a variety of fish, both large and small, and it has never failed me. I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

Title: Solid reel and great value
Review: I received this reel a few days ago and spooled it up with 10 lb braid and 20 lb flurocarbon leader (a lot of sharp oyster beds and toothy fish). I took it to a local pond to test it out and it cast my 3/8 oz paddle tail a mile with very smooth retrieves. Construction seems and feels very solid and balanced when paired with my 7 ft medium fast action rod. Can't wait to take it on my pedal kayak and hopefully catch some inshore fish here in South Carolina - redfish, speckled trout, flounder, sheepshead, etc. I have other KastKing rods and reels which I have used in freshwater and they have performed very well. We'll see how this reel holds up to the inshore saltwater kayak fishing I do in the Low Country...I think it will do its part as long as I maintain it as recommended.

Title: GREAT QUALITY Reel for the PRICE!!
Review: Looking forward to fishing with this new reel from KastKing! Impressed with the quality feel of the reel. It seems to be very sturdily built being designed for saltwater use. As I rarely fish saltwater, I thought it would be a rugged reel for freshwater use. One turn of the reel handle and it spins effortlessly and quietly. Since I fish mostly freshwater, it will be a great addition to my catfish gear, because of the 40lbs of drag stopping ability. The 4000 size has a 6.2:1 gear ratio. Read the specs on this reel and you will be impressed since it is only around $80. The one thing that I noticed (nothing wrong) is that the sizing of the reel seems to be smaller than other manufacturers. So pay attention to the chart they provide in the advertising.

Title: Impressive
Review: I bought this reel for inshore use and so far I have been impressed. I spooled it with 20lb braid and put it on a 7ft M St. Croix. It balances and feels great on the rod. The reel is light but I have not felt any flexing while fighting fish. I have caught redfish, snook and drum on it, no giants but big enough to work out the drag. The drag works incredibly well and is very smooth. There is more drag available than you could possibly need. The reel is very smooth and that goes to show you don’t need a 1000 bearings to have a smooth retrieve. I don’t have any criticisms. The only thing I cannot comment on is durability but based on other kastking reels I’m not worried about it.

Title: Looks like it was returned due to a defect and resold as “new”!
Review: The reel was received within three days of purchase, but it looks like it’s been purchased before, returned due to a defect, and resold as “new”!While the package looked intact, the box containing the reel came open and the handle was lying outside of the box. The female threading for right hand use cannot catch the male threading on the handle, but it works fine for left-hand use.Very disappointed.

Review: I received a junk reel. The label on it is a Shakespeare reel that I can buy for $15 at Canadian tire. Not impressed. Yes, it was packaged inside a nice stiff Kastking box but the contents are definitely not that.
