Title: Excellent satisfaction
Review: I could not be happier with my purchase. The book arrived quickly and in better-than-described condition. I was very happy with the price and feel I got excellent value for the money. This book is a true gem. It brought back memories of my youth in Brooklyn as well as the stories my father told me. Every page is a treasure to be savored even if you did not grow up in the best city in America.I do not normally buy online but I certainly will from Amazon and those they represent.

Title: really nice book
Review: Even though the book was for a generation slightly older than myself, my husband loved the book. It really is interesting with nice photos. I just wish it was more for my generation.

Title: Great Gift
Review: I got this as a gift for someone who grew up in Brooklyn during this time period. When he took off the wrapping paper, a huge smile spread across his face, and he spent the rest of the night looking through the book and reminiscing. I'm glad I made this purchase.

Title: When Brooklyn Had the Dodgers- and our hearts!
Review: As a product of Brooklyn in THOSE days, I LOVED the book! It evoked memories of the hopefulness of the post-world War II years and an appreciation for the fine education system that did an excellent job educating many grandchildren and grandchildren of immigrants. Many of us went on to become the professionals we had the capacity to be but wouldn't in fact have been able to become without the educations we received.

Title: A Brooklyn Nostalgia Winner
Review: Bought for my eighty-something Dad who was born and raised in Brooklyn. He loved it and was inspired to tour the grandkids through his old neighborhood. He also bought another book by the writer on his own

Title: A Beautiful Collection of Fond Reminiscences
Review: If you're from Brooklyn, you will not be able to put this book down. Even if you aren't, this collection of "love stories" fondly remembering the borough through past decades will give you some idea of why people speak so nostalgically of Brooklyn. It will put a smile on your face and maybe even squeeze a few tears from you.

Review: I didn't grow up in Brooklyn but I grew up in the years covered by this book. It brought back memories, reminded me how incredibly society has changed, and made me wonder whether children growing up these days will have the colorful and touching memories of the neighborhoods where they spent their childhood. I doubt it very much. I love the format, that of letting people who lived there tell their own stories
