Title: Fun, informative book
Review: I purchased this book as a gift and it was a hit! The recipient is a bit of a foodie and travels a lot for his job, so it was fun for all of us to look through the book to find restaurants any of us had already been to, as well as find new ones to visit. My favorite part is that not every restaurant is expensive - local, reasonable favorites are also included. I plan on purchasing two copies of the new version when it's released - I only wish it had released before the holidays!

Title: Happy with the purchase
Review: I purchased this as a gift for my brother-in-law who really gets creative in the kitchen. His reaction to it was great. It has tons of information for about any location imaginable. It is great for restaurant ideas when traveling or for food inspiration from restaurants that chefs themselves like. It has an attractive corner so it is great for aesthetics if displayed as well.

Title: NOT COMPREHENSIVE ENOUGH
Review: I could not believe that, with many smaller cities such as Charleston included, Washington D.C. had no reviews at all. I was especially disappointed because I live in Baltimore. Also, even for a city like New York City, there were glaring omissions and not that many restaurants included. For Example, not one of the many wonderful restaurants on 46th St. (Restaurant Row) was listed. We especially love LeRivage, a French restaurant there.

Title: Great for a Gift
Review: I bought this as a gift for my parents this past Christmas. They are the kind of people who are impossible to buy for but they loved it! I bought another book in this series called Where Bartenders Drink to pair with this book. I have even been to a few of the recommend restaurants; they're great.

Title: More important for the food traveler than Immodium!
Review: We bought the first edition and have worn it out in preparing for travels (ours and those of our friends). We have found some of the most amazing places that we never would have discovered on Yelp or Trip Advisor. You will certainly find many of the Michelin recognized restaurants, but the real benefit is the inclusion of high quality places that have not yet caught the eye of the big M as well as less formal eateries that will never be considered for a star.. Consulting the book has become part of our trip planning ritual. If food is an important part of your itinerary, this book is a must have. Thanks for the updates in the second edition!

Title: What a sad disappointment!!
Review: Sorry, but this book is a huge disappointment to me. Less than 30 pages are devoted to NYC restaurants and no descriptions of special dishes to order are suggested. I had hoped to find some "unknown" places for the public to discover where they had not eaten before. It is almost a "pat me on the back and I will pat you back." The only US cities covered are NY, Chicago, New Orleans, L.A. and San Francisco..To write the descriptions given, a person really did not have to eat there....I love eating out and reading reviews of restaurants but this book really did not give me any ideas or helpful tips... :-(((

Title: Hasn't led me astray yet.
Review: Oh gosh! this is a great go-to guide for traveling. I live in San Francisco and know a fair amount about the food scene here so I examined the San Francisco selection. Their restaurant selection was excellent and spanns 5 star restaurants to hole-in-the-wall diners that are absolute gems and I almost wish they didn't even mention (I don't like "my restaurants" getting crowded.) I travel a lot and have used this book for restaurants all over the world. It hasn't led me astray yet!
