Unlocking Hose Reel & How to Retract

Give the hose a short sharp pull(approximate 2-4 in) and you will feel the hose automatically retract. You can interrupt this process by pulling the hose again.

Dealing with Tangles Inside The Reel

Extend the hose to its full length and then permit it to retract smoothly as you walk it back to the hose reel housing . This will allow the self-layering mechanism to layer the hose correctly into the reel.

Solutions for Leaks at The Interface

Supplied with two seals which can be replaced and a Teflon tape that can be wrapped at the interface to preventing leakage.

Title: Awesome Hose!!!!
Review: I am totally in love with this awesome hose! I Have had a few expandable garden hoses that leaked due to being dragged on the ground constantly. Finally, I decided to get a regular hose that is retractable after I am done using it. I knew this would solve my leaking problem because it wouldn’t be dragged on the ground. After some looking around I decided to give this one a try. It looked good and the price was nice compared to some expandable hoses out there.The hose and container was pretty big, but it was not heavy or bulky. It comes with a nozzle that have 10 different spray patterns (jet, cone, soaker, full, flat, shower, angle, center, and mist, etc). They all work really well! Oh and the water volume can be adjusted which I thought was nice. This hose works exactly as I expected! After I’m done watering the plants, I just need to gently pull the hose and it automatically retracts the hose back in very smoothly.Overall, I’m very happy with this garden hose. It is very sturdy and high quality! The length should be good for most people. It works great as expected and once installed makes watering so convenient and easy. And when I’m not using it, it is all tucked away and out of sight and not in the way . Totally recommended👍

Title: Great Hose Reel
Review: Nice quality retracting hose reel.Once in a while the retracting stops short from full deployment.I’ve learned that this is user error.A little practice is in order to get the hose to fully retract.If you walk too fast, the hose will catch itself inside the inner spool and stop from full deployment.With a steady direct pace walking back to the reel, allows the hose to align on the spool correctly when storing.A little learning curve and practice is required.Once you get the hang of it, the Glaholden Hose Reel works great with a strong retracting mode.

Title: Is it possible to be the ‘n love with a hose real? Why yes it is. 🫶
Review: Ok I’m going to admit I had a problem with the first one a 100’ foot I bought for the backyard. But ease of use, how it retracts, easy install made it worth reaching out to say the hose connection to the house was leaking. They had me send a pic told me to try a different washer but it just still seemed to drip. THEY SENT A FULL REPLACEMENT HOSE WITHIN TWO DAYS. No begging no pleading. They just wanted to double check if human error and instantly sent a replacement that works perfect. So perfect in fact I bought the longer hose 140’ and I love it just as much if not more- I just didn’t need the added length but I do regret not getting it. What if I want to use somewhere else? So now I have two. They both rock and I have full faith if an issue were to arise they will back their product. Every household in my family is getting one of these this Xmas!!!!!

Title: Broken reel in less than a year.
Review: The first one they sent had water spraying out of the reel. The replacement, I’ve used it maybe 5 times, it no longer reels the hose in all the way. No I didn’t pull out the hose too far, prob 1/2 way total. Going to contact the seller but not optimistic. Don’t waste your money.This thing is less than a year old.

Review: Our hose is close to our back door, so I bought this for a better appearance. I've had this for a full summer and really like it. It looks so much better than a hose hanging on a hook. Plus it works really well, makes watering the plants easier. Overall this is a nice product that is well made, and I believe with proper care, it will last quite awhile.

Review: I went back and forth on getting one of these and finally just did it. The best purchase we have made for outside! It’s so convenient, we mounted it on a mail box stand. The length is great and it works perfectly. We have had it for a few months. Definitely recommend!

Title: Plastic cover fades quickly
Review: I bought the 65' hose unit. So far the hose and reel mechanism have been working great. Unfortunately the plastic housing has faded in the Florida sun. It has been roughly 8 months since installed. Hence the 3.5 stars. From day one, I have been applying every couple of months some Turtle Wax Ceramic spray coating to the plastic housing to help protect it from the elements, but nonetheless it has still faded pretty significantly. I can only imagine how much worse it would be had I not been applying some protection. Not sure how long it will last before the plastic housing becomes brittle and starts to crack. I know I'm able to remove it and store it while not in use but that's not ideal when we use this hose weekly to water the plants and washdown/flush our boat and jetski every week or so. It would be nice if they offered a cover we could purchase to help protect it from the elements. Other than that, the reel itself has been great and has had no issues reeling in the 65' of hose. As recommended, we always turn off the water and leave the spray nozzle open as the reel retracts, so that the water inside the hose can escape. If you don't, the reel may not retract the hose completely and you could risk breaking the unit due to the added weight of the water trapped inside the hose. I recommend this reel, just know that it will fade in a short time.
