Product Description
The SpiroPure SP-RO400QD is a 4-stage portable reverse osmosis water filtration system with deionization. Not only does this convenient countertop RO system include sediment, carbon block, and RO filtration, but it also offers a DI filter cartridge for further reduction of total dissolved solids (TDS), giving you chemically purified water. The system can be set upon a countertop or mounted to the wall for easy access to RO water for aquariums, apartment RO, streak-free and spot-free cleaning of vehicles and glass, and more. Minimal assembly is required for SpiroPure Portable RO systems, with pre-installed quick-connect fittings and two faucet adapters for the perfect connection to most standard faucets and hoses.

FAQ
Some of the reviews claim your system is not truly 150 GPD. Is that true?
Not at all. However, it is the unfortunate truth that it is unlikely that your system will produce 150 GPD in your home, which is the case for any RO system on the market. This is because the actual flow rate will depend upon a number of factors, including water pressure, water temperature, and the amount of contaminants present in your water. The 150 GPD rating you see on our system and the rating on any other RO system is determined under laboratory conditions, which will use optimal water pressure (generally 60 psi), optimal water temperature (usually around 77 degrees Fahrenheit), and controlled levels of TDS. As you can imagine, it is impossible to test the system at every combination of pressure ratings, temperatures, and TDS levels. Obviously, higher levels of contaminants will plug filters faster, reducing water flow, and lower water pressure will also produce lower flow rates. In addition, lower temperatures can cause significant reduction in flow rate, and, as a result, you will probably have higher flow rates in the summer than you do in the winter. As a rule of thumb for any RO system, you can usually expect to experience a flow rate that is 50% to 75% of the listed GPD rating for that system.
I have the SP-RO400AQD RO/DI filter system and used a TDS meter. After the first two stages (sediment and carbon) the PPM of the water rises, and after the RO stage, it drops as expected. But then after the final DI stage, the PPM rises once more. Is the filter system defective?
PPM is a measurement of the TDS (total dissolved solids) inside of the water. Sediment filters are designed to remove large sediment particles, and carbon filters absorb chemical impurities from water (such as chlorine), and are not designed to filter or reduce TDS at all. In fact, a new carbon filter will increase the PPM of TDS in water as it sheds carbon fines, but this should reduce after a couple of days of use. This is why it is recommended that you flush a new carbon filter, particularly if it is before an RO or DI cartridge as it can cause premature fouling of the RO or DI media.
RO membranes, however, are designed to reduce TDS from water, and TDS meters are designed specifically to measure TDS reduction after more in-depth filtration like that provided by RO membranes. Deionization (DI) can then provide further reduction of TDS from water. To see the desired results, we recommend using the filter system without the DI cartridge for a few days when first using the system or after replacing the carbon filter to ensure the carbon fines are gone. After that, reintroducing the DI cartridge should reduce the amount of TDS even further after the RO membrane filtration.

4-STAGE RO SYSTEM: SED sediment filter reduces large particles to protect the other cartridges. The CB carbon filter utilizes coconut shell solid block activated carbon to protect the RO membrane from harsh chlorine and other chemicals. The RO reverse osmosis membrane reduces harmful particulates and impurities in water down to 0.0001 micron, including total dissolved solids (TDS), heavy metals, sodium chloride, copper, chromium, lead, and more. The final stage is a DI deionization filter.
DEIONIZATION FILTRATION: Fourth stage DI cartridge employs mixed-bed, indicator resin for enhanced filtration of TDS (total dissolved solids). A 2:3 ratio of cation and anion resins assists in near complete reduction of ions from water including sodium, sulfate, copper, and more. Color-changing green media turns purple when exhausted, letting you know it’s time for a cartridge changeout. Deionization filtration produces pure water faster, more efficiently, and more affordably than distillation.
HIGH FLOW: Unlike other reverse osmosis systems, SpiroPure countertop RO systems come with a high-flow 150 GPD membrane, the highest water flow rate that can be currently achieved at this RO membrane cartridge size.
VERSATILE INSTALL: This portable RO water filter with deionization can be wall-mounted or placed upon your countertop, making it a great choice for aquariums or Apartment RO applications. Get practically purified water for your aquarium, spot free-cleaning for cars, streak-free cleaning for windows and other glass, CPAP machines, humidifiers, neti-pots, and more.
EASY INSTALL: This RO system comes mostly pre-assembled to save time, not only with pre-installed mourning brackets, but each filter cartridge already has the quick-connect fittings for easier installation. Color-coded hoses help you in knowing which line goes to what port. The package also includes wall mount brackets and screws, as well as two faucet adapters (3/4" standard garden hose connections and 1/2" connections for select kitchen faucets).

Title: What can I say? Incredible product! As advertised!
Review: This is exactly what a shrimp keeper needs! Itâs flow rate is as advertised. The water had low a tds reading of near zero! Tested water and perfect! The use is simple and hooking up to tap is very nice. Iâm loving this purchase. Thank you!

Title: Good Portable RO unit, not 150 GPD though
Review: I ordered this RO unit for my saltwater tank so I can use it in my laundry room where I make my water. Easy assembly with great instructions, so that was awesome! Once it was hooked up, I ran it for about an hour before using any of the water to flush it out and get it going right. Once I started to collect the water, itâs been taking almost 1 hour to fill a 5 gal bucket. Now, I am sure that different water pressure gives different flow rates. But, I am in a normal house with pretty strong normal pressure (showers feel great and everything else runs fine), but I am not getting the advertised higher GPD they quoted. It will do since I have a smaller tank and donât need a ton of water, but, I was a little disappointed in that.

Title: Love this filter
Review: I live full time in an rv and water can taste a little funky at different camps. With this filter I can take my water from 500 ppm down to 10 ppm. And eliminate the bad taste. I do not use the DI cartridge for drinking water but it's great for cleaning TV screens and glass. Since it's a spot free filter. I will be buying replacement when it time.

Title: Awful experience
Review: Iâm not sure if itâs fault in the product or the selling company, but this RODI system came with no instructions or manual and after searching and finding videos from other manufacturers of similar filters, i got this hooked up and running and 5 min in the hose coming out of the #2 canister busted off the top and water went everywhere! After inspection, it was a faulty part where the hose connects to the canister and i could not fix it. Do not buy this from this selling company,

Title: NOT 150 GPD
Review: Advertised as 150 GPD but nowhere near that. I'm averaging between 40-50 GPD, with 65 psi. 360 TDS before, 19 after, which would be okay for my purposes, but not at 50 GPD and a nearly 4:1 waste.

Title: Works for low TDS, but not efficient
Review: Averaging ~40 GPD, running at 60 psi. Just over 3 gallons of waste water for 1 gallon of clean water.

Title: Quick delivery and decent packaging
Review: Came in before tracking data said it would. The product was packed as you would like protecting it from damage. I've yet to hook it up but intend to soon before my next water change. I had to go to home depot to make the sink adapter work but I already expected I would have to do this. I could have used the garden hose attachment but I liked where I have it mounted by the basement sink. So far so good ð
